After canceling my appointment last minute, I frantically called several local dentists for help. Cambridge Dental Center put me on an emergency triage list and I was in to see Dr. Alex within 24 hours. The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and took great care of me. I had no pain through my procedure whatsoever. Their prices were much cheaper than my current dentist and their customer service was outstanding. I canceled my next cleaning with my old dentist and scheduled my next with Cambridge Dental Center. And the cherry on top was receiving a nice welcome card signed by all the staff. Thank you, Cambridge Dental Center, truly.

Dr. Peterson is very personable, and does extremely good work. Each time I go in, he always remembers something about my life and asks me how that's going--we talk baseball a lot since he's a Twins fan and I cheer for the White Sox. Much of the staff is the same as when Dr. Shorenstein was there, so it's great to see familiar faces--that combined with the great work encourages me to keep making the long drive back to Cambridge each time I need to see a dentist. But I'm sure glad I don't have to go as often as we shovel snow around here!

    This office was our family dentist for over ten years. The…read moregood: the people who schedule appointments and hygenists are friendly and good at their job. Hutchens isn't a bad dentist. The bad: the lack of billing expertise and manners. They have an absolutely atrocious billing system that mashes family members together- even if those members are all adults- together on a billing statement. Our family repeatedly had to straighten out mix ups in this area: claims not submitted in the correct order, double submissions, double billing, some charges for work done not submitted at all, etc. It was truly a nightmare. We were regularly over-charged (only to receive a refund check later), regularly asked to pay our portion of treatment costs BEFORE they even knew how much of the procedure would be covered by insurance. These requests for pre payment would be discussed in an open lobby area filled with patients- very rude. The final straw- they chose to no longer honor my insurance provider (Blue Cross/ Blue Shield!) beginning Jan. 1 last year, but didn't inform us until we recieved a letter from them informing us of that fact in JULY- after our family had recieved dental treatments- in MAY and JUNE. Bottom line: unless you're willing to pay your dental bill in full at the time of treatment (thereby circumventing their atrocious, unprofessional business practices) I cannot recommend this business.

First of all I do not feel it is appropriate to speak to clients in a full lobby of patients about finances. The reception people mixed up my sons on occasions and totally messed up their different billings. I had an appt with one dentist and come in to find mine on vacation and they have switched dentists without even calling me. My son waited in the lobby over over an hour to have a dentist spend 2 minutes with him glueing a crown back in and charged him over $100 for it. Their pricing is higher than most of the dentists in the area. I have had 3 dentists dispute Dr.Crooks findings on 2 of my members and can't help but feel like this office has been gouging us and doing unnecessary procedures. The bookkeeping system and/or bookkeeper is simply inadequate with tons of errors, billing incorrectly to insurance, numbers that don't add up. To top it off they dropped my insurance and 7 months later AFTER work has been done, tell us and they do that by letter when my husband is in the office having work done. Very tacky, almost as tacky as the huge full length portraits in the lobby of the staff. The one of Hutchens looks like it should be on a dating site-not in a professional medical setting. There are many better dentists in the Cambridge area. I suggest you go see them.
