Instead, my own research led me to find that I was magnesium deficient for years. This caused fast heart rate and high blood pressure. I took magnesium LThreonate from Dr. Mercola or life extensions on amazon. 3 times per day. I am healed and have been off meds for 2 years. I hope this helps other to research root cause and not go on life long medication that will not ever heal your body. You will only become dependent on it, and it will cause other negative issues.

Also stop calling my black wife Ms if there is a white husband with a wedding ring with her. don't make early morning appointments and then show up 10 minutes late as the doctor for the appointment. This is the first time during our 5 years of marriage this husband was not allowed to be in the same room as the wife. Most unprofessional medical service I have seen in 55 years on 3 continents. When you see a man in the waiting room and you are not sure he is a direct family member as he has a different skin color as the patient perhaps ascertain who he is prior to refusing entry with the patient. Have you considered racial sensitivity training of your staff?

I've never had the opportunity to rave about healthcare, but Walter Tan, Richard Daw, and their…read moreRaleigh Cardiology associates are truly the best in the business for cardiac care. My 87-year old father lives in the area and worked with this team to get through several issues, including the most recent - a new TAVR valve replacement procedure that was amazing. Throughout, this team of doctors showed amazing care both for my dad and for our family. EVERYONE we dealt with treated us as though we were the only people they had to worry about. I can only say it was an unexpected pleasure - especially since I had to come to Raleigh from Atlanta, GA for the meetings and appointments. We highly recommend these doctors and are grateful for them.

I was with with my father for his surgical procedure and post-operative days. He was a patient of Dr. Tan's for a cardiac valve replacement and the service provided by him and his associates was exceptional. They communicated their caring and concern by taking time to make sure questions were answered and they have processes in place to help both patient and family to feel calm and confident about the planned procedure. The pre-operative process was clearly communicated and was coordinated by an RN who assisted my father and I during the several hours of pre-op tests. The nurse arranged a visit with the anesthesiologist, made sure that test results were complete, and communicated with Dr Tan as needed. The anesthesiologist spent at least 20 minutes with us and asked several times whether we had questions. We met with Dr Tan and his nurse practitioner for about 30 minutes and they again made sure that instructions were clear and that our questions were answered. Dr Tan asked for and used my cell phone number to get in touch with me about the latest updates and about any changes to plans. He also urged me to call him any time if I had a question or a concern. He called or sent text messages and also asked each time whether I had additional questions or concerns. One evening he saw me in the hall and turned around to come talk to me and go with me to see my father so he could personally update us on things he felt were important. The Wake Medical Center staff and hospitality services enabled me to relax and get needed food and rest. Thank you for demonstrating how good medical care can be.

Dr. Short entered the exam room shortly after reviewing the ECG, took a complete medical history - carefully comparing what he learned from our discussion with what the paper history suggested. He reviewed my blood pressure record, shed light on the way medical thinking about blood pressure and HBP treatment has evolved and changed over the years - a very telling perspective that shed light on the BP drugs prescribed over time, and diet/liquid intake recommendations, among other things. From the start of the exam, I was impressed with his explanations, his evaluation of the Rx routine I had been following, his recommended changes to that routine. I should note that I was comforted by the first step in his exam: taking my pulse the old-fashioned way, placing two fingers of his right hand on my wrist, and clocking things using his wristwatch. I've booked a follow up exam with his office; I recommend Dr. Short unreservedly.

Very disappointed with the quality and efficiency of service here. Had taken my family for a travel…read moremedicine consultation. We arrived at 12pm to an empty waiting room except for a gentleman who it appeared had been seen but was waiting for paperwork?. As new patients we filled out the required (but basic) forms and handed these in. And the proceeded to WAIT...and WAIT...and WAIT. A lady came after us and was seen in less than 10minutes. I assume this is because she was a prior patient and thus her information was already in the system. It was 12:45pm before we were finally invited to a patient room (as it turns out ALL THIS TIME they had been "entering our information" - mind you they had already confirmed our insurance). Sigh. It was 1:20pm before the Physicians Assistant (PA) entered our room. I couldn't believe it. This was a center with NO PATIENTS when we arrived. The vaccine consultation was limited at best. Questions regarding possible allergies/reactions were NOT brought up by the PA. As patients we recognized the possible complications when it came signing the vaccination form and though their nurse had already prepared the vaccinations, we had to opt for 2 family members NOT to do the vaccine because the PA was uncertain of possible reactions. NOR was she aware of alternate measures we could take for those unable to receive required vaccinations. [This location is advertised as a Travel Medicine Office....me thinks not!]. Between seeing the PA, getting the vaccines (1 vaccine by the way) and making a payment, we were finally able to leave at 2:20pm. For an Urgent Care Center with zero patients when we arrived the lack of efficiency in the service was very very disappointing as was the limited knowledge of the PA in a travel medicine office. I would not recommend this location to anyone.
