I left a review for this place when I first arrived in Geelong saying Wai Bo was average at best...just goes to show it is worth giving things a second chance. While the decor and the service have not changed, the quality of the food certainly has. The dumplings were high quality, with fresh seafood (prawn and crab) inside the thin casings; the peking duck was the highlight, despite the fact they are assembled before they got to the table; the pork and eggplant hot pot wasn't far behind in terms of making you want more; even the fried rice, while a little pricey for the size, was better than average. It seems the more obscure your liking (more traditional), the better it gets. The abalone is on my list for next time! Don't be put off by the look of the place, with quantness comes the ability to BYO, and that is always a bonus. read more
