The bun was soft with sesame seeds but a bit larger than the burger itself so there was some leftover. Overall taste was great. My side of chips came a few minutes after my burger was served, so they could work on timing for the meal. I noticed the same for another customer. Hot chips had a light dusting of herbs and were just the right consistency and amount. Sauces are extra and I went with an aioli vs the really hot sauce that was advertised. As this was a special birthday celebration there was certain criteria that I wanted - beachside, sea views, quality seafood, central location for guests and good service. Sammy's ticked the box on all criteria and in fact excelled in every area. The Sammy's Seafood Platter was had by all and the quality of all seafood was outstanding and every guest at the function praised all aspects of the day. Vittorio who was front of house for the day is an absolute credit to the business. His character, wit and 5 star service was appreciated by all and may I say to the owner you need to offer him a share of the business as he is exceptional...!! His ability to multi task, be exceptionally courteous and let nothing be a problem is something you rarely experience. The restaurant location is without doubt the best on the metropolitan coastline and parking beneath the restaurant makes it convenient. It is not often that you can say that everything was exceptional however I can say this experience was. To the management and staff may I congratulate you all and I have no hesitation whatsoever in giving a 5 star rating for your business. Cooked well, presented well, not on a brioche bun (I might be on my own here but I find brioche too sweet for a burger) winner. Would I stop here again for a burger if I was back in G-town? My mum ordered a vegetarian soup and was presented with a tepid bowl of meat surprise. Lucky she wasn't a vegetarian. The waitress did apologise and offered her a bowl of pea and ham soup instead. I tried the replacement soup out of interest. Tasted like foamy gunk. I ordered the Caesar salad. I had to ask for extra dressing on the side as it was very lacking in the moisture department. The best part of the dish ... the pinkish looking chicken placed on top. Such a waste of a heritage building.
