It's a 10.3ish mile trail with no bathrooms so be prepared to hold or stop by the public library as a pit stop. For me it took a whole 5 hours going at a pace of 30 minutes a mile but this can easily be done in 3.5 hours going at a faster pace with no pictures stops. In terms of scenery you go through many different types. Some are rocky, some grassy, and you even pass part of Lake Powell. Hike itself is not hard, it's fairly flat, but 10+ miles does require proper planning with water and good shoes. When I came it was fairly low traffic with only a few runners. Totally worth checking out once if you had an extra day in Page, Arizona!

HOWEVER, the parking lot is also pretty aggressive about shaking you down for money, meaning that there are staffed toll booths, and also one way traffic spikes so that if you drive the wrong way your tires get shredded. Like yes, it is important that people should pay, but it is also very unwelcoming. Also, even though they have brought in over $20 million from the fees so far, they can't even bother to stock their vault toilets with hand sanitizer even at the start of the day. Since there's so many visitors, I can only shudder to think of how many people are walking around with fecal hands. Otherwise, a short stroll leads to a cool view point of the canyon, although the water is lower in the canyon.

I booked online about a week in advance but accidentally selected the wrong time. After a little…read morephone and email tag, their team quickly helped me switch to my preferred slot. The day before our tour, Julia called to let us know strong headwinds were expected and asked if we wanted to adjust our time. We already had a different morning tour scheduled, and they were incredibly accommodating with our plans. At the launch site, we met our guide Logan, and we were lucky that it was just our family of four on this tour. Husband and I wore aqua shoes and my daughters opted to wear their Birkenstock sandals and go barefoot, which was fine if you're okay with getting red mud on them. Logan was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous since I'm a beginner kayaker, but he let us move at our own pace. It ended up being a great workout while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The canyon was quiet, beautiful, and not crowded at all. We paddled across Lake Powell and into the canyon, and the cool lake water felt amazing in the warm end-of-March weather (mid-80s). They provided life jackets, offered bottled water, and Logan even took photos of us both on the water and at the end of the canyon, which we really appreciated. He also shared helpful paddling tips along the way. The entire tour lasted about 2.5-3 hours and was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend for families and beginners looking for a scenic and well-guided kayaking experience!

This tour is really for everyone and I can't recommend this tour company and John enough. Because we traveled during off season, we had the entire lake and trail to ourselves. John left much time for us to take cool pictures and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure to engage with each person in the group and was successful in getting the more shy individuals to step out of their comfort zones. John and Sid (the other employee) made this tour worth it. They provided awesome recommendations for things in the area and also future outdoor related activities in the U.S. Be sure to pack enough water. Remember you are in a kayak and your items will likely get soaked. Luckily they provide one water proof bag per kayak which can hold your phone and camera. If you feel the need to pack more, I recommend that you bring your own waterproof back pack. I opted to go barefoot in the kayak and wear shoes on the hike. You will have to walk through water to get on and off of the boat. Do not let your size and fitness level deter you from this tour. The team is incredibly accommodating and reassuring, making this the perfect tour for all. Highly recommend this tour and either Sid or John!

You have to take a tour to visit Antelope Canyon, so I shared my thoughts on that experience on the tour company's page. When visiting Antelope Canyon, you have the choice of either Upper Canyon or Lower Canyon. Upper Canyon is the more popular and famous option as it's where the light beams occur at different times of the day. Lower Canyon is where you get deeper into the canyon. No matter which canyon you choose, make sure to book your reservations weeks in advance. If you don't, especially if it's a weekend or peak season, you'll likely be out of luck. We visited on a Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Antelope Canyon has become one of the most popular attractions in Arizona thanks to TikTok and Instagram. In many ways, it's becoming the new "Grand Canyon." Even if you're not big on social media, if you're a certain age, you know Antelope Canyon. Why? It was the standard wallpaper on Microsoft Windows for many years. And yes, the pictures are just as mesmerizing as reality at this natural wonder. The incredible formations inside this canyon were caused by many years of flooding and weather elements such as wind. You'll spend about 45 minutes in the canyon taking it the beauty of the canyon which is located on the Navajo Nation reservation. You'll be taking a lot of pictures of yourself, of the canyon, and listening to what your tour guide shares with you about the history of the canyon. It's one of those places that everyone should visit at some point in their lives if they're able. It's that incredible. It takes some planning and it's not cheap, but it's well worth it.

These gorgeous canyons were naturally carved over thousands of years by the combined forces of the eroding water via flash floods and the strong winds interacting with the sandstone. Hence behold these spectacular smooth natural flowing, swirling and narrow rock formations as our stellar guide and the others educated us via words, music and lyrics. The 70 minute tour in the afternoon( & earlier one around 10 am) is timed perfectly to coincide with the proper angles and intensity of the sun's rays as we made our way down to this wonderland. It was a lovely and breezy 80 degrees and maybe 70 ish when we got to the bottom. Please wear comfy sneakers. This beauty is in Page, Arizona just 271 miles north of Phoenix. I emphasis again this is a once in a lifetime event.

We were thinking of renting kayaks and doing it ourselves but are both so grateful that we didn't because our tour guide, Ryan, was fantastic-- extremely knowledgeable, helpful, witty, and patient with us, as we were both beginners. She said yes but the benefit of using them was they carried the boards down and up a steep hill. We were there on Saturday April 25th. So we rented two paddle boards and she warned us about the winds. It was like $155. She was nice so we went for it. We get to the site and are waiting around. They haven't even taken the boards off the truck, but we were fine waiting. Layla finally made it up the HILL and had 2 boards taken off the truck and laid on the ground. I asked if any of the MANY men who were there and carrying kayaks down, was going to carry them down. She said no, you carry them. And that hill was STEEP. I figured meh, okay. I was annoyed since we were told they'd be ready for us at the bottom. Layla carried my paddle. Once I saw the hill, I was even more annoyed but I already paid $155 plus $30 entry to the lake. When we got to the bottom, she mentioned when we got back I had to carry it back up. I said I'm not doing that. lol. She held my leash so I could climb on my board. Not an easy task where we were. The paddle boarding was rough but we knew that, the girls at the office warned us. 5 miles later we returned. I STRUGGLED getting off the board and trying to haul it up by myself, my body was shaking and I was visibly exhausted. A young man who worked for this place, WATCHED me struggle. Asked how it was, I said it sucked. He mentioned me carrying the board up that steep hill, while I was shaking from exhaustion and out of breath, and I said "I'm not doing that" and he replied with "why is it heavy?" I did carry my life jacket and paddle...but after that comment I REALLY didn't want to. Layla gave me a water at the top and said to take a breath, I was breathing very heavy. I'd say don't rent paddle boards. You will have to carry them up and down the hill and will get no assistance getting off the board either. But they did carry the kayaks and help those people who also paid like we did, in and out of the kayaks. So maybe rent those and not the paddle boards.

Lake Powell is a reservoir created by the flooding of Glen Canyon by the Glen Canyon Dam…read more Unfortunately due to the southwestern North American megadrought that began in 2000, the water levels are lower than usual, and you can see the bathtub ring effect on the rocks. I visited Lone Rock Beach, however it's no longer alone, since the receding water levels has connected the rock stack the the beach itself. The paved road ends and turns into a quite sandy surface, so be careful and use your best judgement, especially since there is no guaranteed towing service if you get stuck in the sand. Beautiful place.

Page, while it has become touristy, is a wonderful place to visit in Arizona. I made a weekend trip…read moreto visit all of the top attractions, including Lake Powell. There are several different ways you can check out Lake Powell. One option is to see it from afar from atop cliffs and overlooks in Glen Canyon Park. This provides scenic views of the beautiful lake. Another option is to actually see the Lake up close and personal. There are several spots where you can do that. I decided to make the short drive into Utah to see it from Lone Rock. You have to drive through some rocky/sandy terrain so me careful to follow the path (unless you're in a car with four-wheel drive). Once you get closer to the beach, you will reach a sandy area. Do not drive through it. You'll see cars and RVs parked right where the terrain changes for good reason. Unless you have the proper vehicle, you'll get stuck in the sand. I saw it happen. That will ruin your day. There are even warning signs about this. Once we parked our rental, we walked to the shoreline. I dipped my toes in the water, a bit cold but pleasant. It's a great place to just relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings. The Lake is also a popular spot to rent boats. While I didn't do this, it is a popular activity. A must-visit while in Page!
