Must have walked past it many times and said, must come here one day. I am glad to say, it was worth the trip. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, your choices for good food in Munich is pretty slim. This place is all about good hearty food, fresh ingredients, lots of choice, not about tofu or other forms of fake meat as, the base ingredient for veg food and not expensive. I had the lunch menu which was €7 and came with a starter or dessert choice along with the main course. I had the pumpkin risotto main and it was delicate, tasty (ok don't expect to be blown away;-)) and the portion was big enough for me to take some home. For starter I chose the mushroom soup which was excellent. The seasoning here is a bit light but, nothing a few turns of the salt shaker can't fix ;-)) I am definitely going to be a regular here. There is a nice cosy atmosphere and seats about 20 or so people inside and there is outdoor seating. There is also a shop where you can buy baked goods, some select groceries, wine & beer, bread and cakes. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan in Munich you should visit and try out the extensive menu, and I mean extensive :-) Wine, beer and cocktails are also served here, it is vegetarian after all lol

A really great dining experience…read more The atmosphere is upscale cafe - the tables have a nice mix of friendly and in the mix and private - although you are close together you don't feel close enough that others are eavesdropping on conversations. Service is friendly and helpful. Also appreciated there were gender neutral bathrooms. The drinks were great - nice to go somewhere with a diverse non alcoholic menu. I had an NA beer and my spouse had a strawberry matcha latte - I was definitely jealous of her drink as it was beautifully presented and well prepared. Food was also very good. We went all out - got a cashew cheese starter, schnitzel, a bowl, and ice cream for dessert. The schnitzel was a standout - my spouse doesn't eat meat but really wanted to try schnitzel - I do and think this one was better seasoned and prepared than the meat ones I had. My bowl was hearty and flavorful - especially liked the peanut sauce. And we loved that we could choose three flavors for the ice cream! Would definitely go back.

This is hands down probably the best Italian food I have had in Munich! Delicious beyond belief and I am especially grateful that she cooked for me a vegetarian version of the pasta I wanted. We absolutely loved the Katzentempel!…read more It was between lunch and dinner and nothing around Marienplatz was appealing to us today so we decided to take a little walking adventure a bit further than we had been yet. We knew about the cat cafe from some pre vacation research. We were excited to find that they were open and serving food when we arrived. All the cats were napping when we arrived but soon five of them would be up and about playing and exploring. They were investigating a paper bag we had from the Nespresso shop so I emptied it out and let them play with it. We got a burger and pulled BBQ sandwich. The food excellent, a smoked paprika Paw print were decorating each plate. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert. The service was excellent and whether or not you're a cat lover or if you are or are not vegan, Katzentempel is an awesome option for something different in Munich!

Stopped in to get a quick bite on our way to Oktoberfest. The food was actually pretty tasty…read more I ordered a green smoothie which was made fresh to order and had a good, not-so-sweet taste. Additionally we got the turkey bagel which came with a dollop of relish which was a nice surprise to the flavor. The egg bagel with pancake was just ok. Nothing too special about it. And the syrup in Germany has a different taste than what I'm used to. The big issue was that the sandwiches are made to order and there is only one person making them for the entire place. They came out one at a time and was very slow... much slower than was convenient since we were trying to go somewhere. Overall this place is just ok. There's another location in the general area that might be a better option. Or try California Bean for way better food at a similar pace (see my review of California Bean).
