The rental employees are rude to customers, the new ownership won't allow walk-ins at all and, even after receiving gear, they won't allow customers to come in and tweak their sizing after 5 p.m. Basically, the store has developed an air of superiority that is very disrespectful and casts the entire ski resort in a negative light. It will be Christy's from here on out even though we get the 10% off at T-Sports. The new ownership just doesn't seem to care.

We purchased my v-neck t-shirt, one man's long sleeve and of course a magnet with Telluride, CO. Why not! lol. Before we checked out we found a rack with a 40% clearance, so we bought a beautiful sweatshirt. Staff (didn't get their names - two guys) explained all the facets. Met up with my wife 20 minutes later and she felt it was too small - I hadn't tried it on in the store. Since the tags were cut off, I didn't think I'd be able to return it. Surprisingly, they said of course! They found the correct size for me, exchanged jackets. Perfect jacket for me and warmer than I was expecting. I will shop this store every time I'm in Telluride! Curtis S.

We waited patiently for the guy to pump some tubes up and then he realized he only had 5 of the 6 we ordered. He went in to check on the 6th tube to come back and tell it had been double booked. We looked at him and he just shrugged his shoulders, like oh well. When we asked our options, he said he could give us a paddle board for the same price. We didn't want the paddle board, but because we needed more adults to go down the river to help supervise the kids, we agreed. Then the Paddle broke right as we started the trip. The shop wanted to charge us $120 for the replacement, but said he would cut us a deal and only charge us $75 for a paddle we didn't want to begin with. Since our family has rented there multiple times, I thought they would work with us on the charge. We broke it, I get it...but who is to say it was not already cracked. It was definitely not new and the equipment was covered in dust and dirt. Just felt like they were unprofessional in how this was handled all the way around. Keep shopping folks, there is better customer service in Telluride than this shop. Won't be back.

It felt like a smaller outlet store. Come to find out that they do have a larger store in Durango. The sales person was very kind and extremely knowledgable! He knew about a number of different products. They carry a number of clothing items for the area, nothing terribly fancy, just the basics. They also carried some hiking items and a very small amount of things that young children might buy! What I really loved was just as you enter there is an animal tracking display! Just wonderful for the little ones and visitors that are not familiar with the local animals! Someone really did good when they put these displays together! Just checking out these displays is worth it's weight in gold! Nicely done Backcountry Experience! How fun for an outdoor adventure store!
