Our instructor and driver, Skye, picked us up at our hotel at 8am. This was in October, so it's quite cool in the morning (high 30's) so dress appropriately in layers as you ride in the back of the jeep in the open air. Skye took us through the town of Telluride and up the county road to Imogene Pass. It's a road the miners used back in the early 1900's so expect a bumpy ride on the one lane road up the Pass. Skye stopped at various points throughout the trip explaining the mining history and the various mining properties along the way (Smugglers; TomBoy; Pandora; etc.) The views are spectacular and Skye's insight was impeccable. We learned a lot along the way. We were unable to make it to the top that day due to ice on the higher elevation roads, but we made it up 12,500 feet for an incredible adventure and outstanding views. Final note - be sure to dress in layers as it gets warmer as you drive toward the top (in the Fall) and than colder at the top. As you come back down Imogene Pass it will again be warmer so you will want to adjust your layers accordingly.

They changed our reservation really easily, refund at the difference, and even helped us strap the kayak to the roof of our car. We had a great time and they were really helpful! Their website was easy to use. Easy to make reservations ahead of time. Located in Mountain village, it was very easy to get to them.
