Had an amazing day out fishing with Wagner chargers crew and family they knew right where to go and put us on fish. Being smaller boat made everything more personal and easy to talk with family and crew thank you for the great first memories of first time fishing in the ocean. Will definitely come back and charter another trip with them.
Absolutely amazing experience with Wagner Charters. The Captain and Guide were great hosts and made my first fishing charter with my daughter and niece a core memory will always remember and cherish. I'm already planning a return visit next year with my buddies. I can't recommend Wagner Charters more highly for a first class experience from start to finish! Thank you for a great trip!!!
Robert and Bob were absolutely wonderful. They made the experience very fun and attractive. Robert was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Made us feel like we where at home and with family. Thanks so much and we are looking forward to our next trip :)
Exceptional! My one word description for this company and their service. I primarily judge a fishing charter based on three things. #1. Performance (did we catch fish?). #2. Customer service (how accommodating/helpful the company/crew is?). #3. Accommodations(condition of equipment boat/gear used). I have been fishing Southern California charters for 20 years (it's still cheaper than buying my own boat lol). This is the first time a company has met the mark on all three categories. This was emphatically the best charter I've ever taken! #1. Performance: We caught so many fish on a half day. See the pics. Incredible! I caught more fish on a few hours here than when I took a full day to Mexico (see a previous review for a company out of San Diego to avoid getting robbed). #2. Customer Service: These guys are the best! Father and son team were so helpful, accommodating, and engaging. These guys are pros and know their stuff. Best part is that they're willing to share expertise. These guys are good with people and didn't make us feel stupid if we didn't know how to do something. They would take the time to show us how and made sure we got it. The results were amazing! #3. Accommodations: the equipment was accommodating and up to date. Everything worked how it should and we saw no safety or performance issues. The gear was maintained and did the job (I opted to rent their gear). Overall I couldn't be happier and intend to return anytime I need to catch fish. After wasting a ridiculous amount of cash on other charters up and down the left coast, these guys are simply the best! Thanks for the fishing trip of a lifetime!

We did a half day fishing trip with Robert and Bob and we caught fish all day, from the moment we dropped the lines until we packed it up for the day. These guys have expert level knowledge and they know all of the best fishing spots. We've never caught so many fish in a single day, our freezers are now stocked with filets. They're also super nice and made sure we had an awesome time on the water. We'll definitely be back to catch some more fish. Highly recommended booking Wagner Charters for your trip.

Went out with Robert and Bob for as a Birthday Gift from my sister. We had such an awesome time and Robert and Bob did an expert job at everything you would expect from a Charter Boat crew. First and foremost they found us the fish! They have their own spots that have been developed from over 40 years on the water. Secondly they were an excellent help getting the proper gear ready. We paid for gear rental and it was worth every penny as Robert was hustling around tying rigs, baiting hooks, and helping us dehook the fish we caught. Not to be overlooked, I got a bout of sea sickness at the beginning of the trip and Robert was there with an essential oil treatment and instantly relieved the symptoms and got me back to enjoying fishing. We pulled in a ton of Rock fish, 2 keeper Calico Bass, and 6 bonito. Robert and Bob have the ideal demeanor to be Charter Fishing guides. They are personable, approachable, flexible, while also clearly offering their immense expertise during all the times that it is needed. This is an unusual combination and a key component in how successful they were at making our trip remarkable. Our appetite is wet for what Wagner Charters can deliver and we are already talking about how to tweak our next trip to maximize our enjoyment based on what we liked most from the first trip. Easiest 5 star rating ever!
What an experience! Robert and his pops Bob were amazing. We spent a whole day at Catalina and came back with a ton of fish. My family and friends all learned so much about the waters, the history and day to days of a fisherman. 12/10 stars! Already looking forward to the next trip with the Wagner boys.
Robert and Bob are super nice. Quite a little journey to harvest lots of fish. It's our first time sport fishing and unforgettable. I have to apologize for my ungenerous tips which I thought that was included in the price. That's culture conflict to me ;). Would surely consider to come back in the future. We had a blast on our 1/2 day fishing charter with Bob & Robert! The boat is very comfortable & their company was nice. My partner and I hadn't been on the water in awhile so they gave us a mini fishing refresher class and we really surprised ourselves with how many fish we caught! They prepare the fish for you to take home & give cooking suggestions too. We'll be eating fresh fish for the next week or so! Thanks for a great day, guys!

Their experience over the last 30 years helped us find plenty of fish. They did all procedures by the book and were very knowledgeable about protocol so much so that when we were boarded by the fish and game warden everything was up to code. Can't recommend them enough!

Robert and Bob were amazing! They took great care in making sure our group of 6 had a great time. We caught a lot of fish, saw dolphins/whales, and had a truly memorable time. Robert even filleted the fish for us to enjoy. They are just regular guys like us, who enjoy having a good time and catching fish. Don't hesitate to book a trip! They will take care of you! I had a great fishing trip with my Dad today thanks to Robert and Bob! Prior to the trip, Robert is very responsive to my questions. During the trip, we can definitely feel that they do this not just because it's their business but they are passionate about it and they want to give us a great experience. We were able to get live squid baits today and that helped us catch some big fish. We moved to many fishing spots with different depths and caught fishes at each one of them. If you want a proper fishing experience, don't go with the "Groupon" boats, this is the right way to do it, and I highly recommend doing it with Robert and Bob! read more

This was second time I booked 1/2 day local charter for my husband and sons. The captain and his son are very knowledgable and experienced. They had a great time and caught lots of fish on both bookings. Totally recommend this charger. They provide a clean and safe experience. They provide the tackle for an extra fee which is well worth it. read more

Planning a family fishing trip in the ocean can be challenging. I found Wagner Charters on Yelp and I saw that they invite families with young kids. They were professional and very patient with us. Wagner Charters was awesome!! Bobby and his father own and run the show, really nice folks who know their stuff! Bobbys a sponsored professional fisherman and it showed with our haul and his tips! The price was unbeatable and we all took home a ton of fish. They fileted our fish and gave us thermal bags with ice to take them home too. Trip took about 11 hours, hauled in about 30 fish and 20 pounds of meat for the group! Thanks Bobby, had a blast and will schedule another one soon!! I'd definitely recommend Wagner Charters to any and everyone looking for a fun and enjoyable day on the water read more

What the what?! Stop looking! We have fish for weeks and had a day we will truly remember forever. This father-son duo showed us the ropes and were a blast to hang out with as well. Anytime I'm in town we will be booking something with them. They ended our tour with fresh sashimi made from our catches. They filet and bag all the goods as well. What a day! Had the best time with my son on this trip! This was our first time ever deep sea fishing. Robert and Bob put us on the fish both days, gave us a few tips and we were catching fish like crazy.... Went out on a half day fishing trip with Captain Bob and Bobby 11/27/20 and had an amazing experience. I've never been deep sea fishing and I was extremely nervous, but Bobby and captain Bob were the best and super reassuring and friendly. They answered all my questions and were extremely knowledgeable with tons of interesting facts about the local waters. 10/10 would absolutely book with them again. read more

We had such a great day! First stop, first drop we were on it! Caught our limit and had so much to take home! I'll be eating a great variety of fish for a long time! Thank goodness I own a Food Saver! They take care of you so well, they set up everything for me and also taught me how to do it so I could be on the fish the whole trip! We had a blast with the Wagners! They were professional, friendly, and informative. Unfortunately we didn't catch any monsters on this trip but we were consistently pulling up fish. Pricing is very reasonable for what you get. It was truly a hassle and stress free experience. We look forward to going out with them again soon, but we have to eat all of this yummy fish first! If you're looking for a great, personable group that can guarantee you an awesome excursion, look no further! Cannot wait for another adventure with Wagner Charters! I searched and searched for a deep sea fishing excursion and sent out some feelers to different groups, Wagner Charters not only replied in a timely manner but were also the only ones to reply (which I couldn't believe but hey that means it was meant to be!). They were extremely professional, showed us an awesome time (none of us had been deep sea fishing before) and provided us with literally every tool we needed to have an awesome time catching some fish. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for any adventure they offer (and there are plenty of options!) and I know we will be using them in the future. Get on Wagner Charters as soon as possible! A day on the water is good for the soul. Beyond that, this family run business goes out of their way to make the experience awesome in every way. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. They we're professional, welcoming and made me and my three sons feel comfortable and at home. They are extremely knowledgeable and hard working when underway with them. We did the full day to Catalina and it is safe to say they have spoiled us on what a true fishing trip should be like. I will NEVER go on one of those overcrowded cattle boats to fish again!! Can't wait to book our next adventure! Thanks boys! read more
