I had a great fishing trip with my Dad today thanks to Robert and Bob! Prior to the trip, Robert is very responsive to my questions. During the trip, we can definitely feel that they do this not just because it's their business but they are passionate about it and they want to give us a great experience. We were able to get live squid baits today and that helped us catch some big fish. We moved to many fishing spots with different depths and caught fishes at each one of them. If you want a proper fishing experience, don't go with the "Groupon" boats, this is the right way to do it, and I highly recommend doing it with Robert and Bob! read more

Exceptional! My one word description for this company and their service. I primarily judge a fishing charter based on three things. #1. Performance (did we catch fish?). #2. Customer service (how accommodating/helpful the company/crew is?). #3. Accommodations(condition of equipment boat/gear used). I have been fishing Southern California charters for 20 years (it's still cheaper than buying my own boat lol). This is the first time a company has met the mark on all three categories. This was emphatically the best charter I've ever taken! #1. Performance: We caught so many fish on a half day. See the pics. Incredible! I caught more fish on a few hours here than when I took a full day to Mexico (see a previous review for a company out of San Diego to avoid getting robbed). #2. Customer Service: These guys are the best! Father and son team were so helpful, accommodating, and engaging. These guys are pros and know their stuff. Best part is that they're willing to share expertise. These guys are good with people and didn't make us feel stupid if we didn't know how to do something. They would take the time to show us how and made sure we got it. The results were amazing! #3. Accommodations: the equipment was accommodating and up to date. Everything worked how it should and we saw no safety or performance issues. The gear was maintained and did the job (I opted to rent their gear). Overall I couldn't be happier and intend to return anytime I need to catch fish. Went out with Robert and Bob for as a Birthday Gift from my sister. We had such an awesome time and Robert and Bob did an expert job at everything you would expect from a Charter Boat crew. First and foremost they found us the fish! They have their own spots that have been developed from over 40 years on the water. Secondly they were an excellent help getting the proper gear ready. We paid for gear rental and it was worth every penny as Robert was hustling around tying rigs, baiting hooks, and helping us dehook the fish we caught. Not to be overlooked, I got a bout of sea sickness at the beginning of the trip and Robert was there with an essential oil treatment and instantly relieved the symptoms and got me back to enjoying fishing. We pulled in a ton of Rock fish, 2 keeper Calico Bass, and 6 bonito. Robert and Bob have the ideal demeanor to be Charter Fishing guides. They are personable, approachable, flexible, while also clearly offering their immense expertise during all the times that it is needed. This is an unusual combination and a key component in how successful they were at making our trip remarkable. Our appetite is wet for what Wagner Charters can deliver and we are already talking about how to tweak our next trip to maximize our enjoyment based on what we liked most from the first trip.
