Definitely felt a sense of old town Cuba with photos plastered on the walls. Met with the barista who made me a cortadito from the stainless steel expresso machine. The coffee was strong and added sugar from the kiosk. The oversized chocolate eclairs and muffins were inviting, but we were on our way to lunch in Fort Myers. The owner introduced himself and had a brief discussion. The back patio had a wooden bar top with stools and a lacquered dominoes table across from a large Cositas food truck for catering. The gender neutral bathroom was clean with large tile flooring and a circle wall mirror with a black rim.

They have tables indoors and out, as well as several different menus. At the first visit we had delicious, succulent Cuban sandwiches and coffees: Iced caramel macchiato for me and Cuban coffee for hubby. The next day we got delicious pastries as a hostess gift for family we were visiting. They had all flavors: guava, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, etc. Everything was delicious without being overly sweet. On our third visit we had Cuban breakfast sandwiches (egg, ham & cheese on Cuban bread) and more of their delicious coffee. This is one restaurant we'll miss upon returning home.

You can tell the owners really take pride in keeping the restaurant clean. I got a strawberry fruit tea with tapioca pearls. The tea was perfect-not too sweet but nice and fruity! I got the Big Buddha Bowl which has beef, chicken, and shrimp. I got the fried rice and all the veggies-the sweet carrots, broccoli, and onions. The portion was HUGE! Definitely enough for a few meals. The rice was nice and moist and there was also a generous portion of protein. The best protein in my opinion, were the shrimp. I personally like my onions well done, but my broccoli and carrots al dente. All of the veggies were soft, but I know some people prefer that. I did miss zucchini, which I've had at most other hibachi places, so I hope they add that eventually. The best part of the whole restaurant is the homemade yum yum sauce on tap!! I LOVE yum yum sauce so this was definitely a treat. The owners built and installed the custom yum yum sauce pump themselves, so this definitely sets them apart from every other hibachi place I've been to. The food is very solid and I definitely would recommend. It's great to support this small, family business!

I tried the chicken gyoza and had steak hibachi with broccoli. Not sure if you can ask how you want you steak cooked as she didn't ask and neither did I but I do prefer a nice med rare steak and mine was well done and hard as a rock sadly. The dumplings were very good though. I would most certainly be back to try the chicken hibachi and ask if I can adjust the cook temp of the steak for future reference. The location was super clean and the lady taking my order was so nice, we chatted for a few minutes and she's a gem.

Every box hits like it was made with purpose, attitude, and a little madness (the good kind). You don’t come here for plain or safe—you come here for flavor that smacks, combos that shouldn’t work but do, and characters that make you feel like you’re part of a story. Chef Julio and OG Micky? Legends. It’s like your favorite food truck and your favorite mixtape had a baby and decided to start cooking full-time. Every dish has a name, a mood, and a backstory. I ordered something called “Smoke in the Bayou” and swear I tasted drama, soul, and smoke in one bite. The boxes are LOADED—fried tenders over Cajun pasta, Cuban sandwiches stuffed like they’re trying to prove something, sauces that slap, sides that don’t feel like sides. And the vibe? Gritty, streetwise, and loud in the best way. The branding goes hard—black and lime green with street-art flair. It’s like stepping into a food comic book where everything explodes in flavor. You can tell there’s culture, passion, and hustle behind all of it. It's not about trends—it's about real-deal flavor and storytelling through food. If you’re hungry for something that feels different, tastes , and makes you want to come back just to see what’s next… Hans Hot Box is THAT spot.
