The staff here is always fast and welcoming, making sure your meal starts off right. The buffet features an impressive selection, from steaks and fresh salads to an entire spread of desserts. The pecan pie, cookies, and especially the bread pudding stand out as must-tries. On weekends, the breakfast buffet is a real treat, and with doors opening at 10:30am during the week and 7am on weekends, it's a convenient choice for early or midday dining. With large seating areas and a very fair price point--about $17 per person including tip--the value is hard to beat. That said, there are a few drawbacks. Some dishes can be overly salty, and at times the food doesn't seem as fresh as it could be. The building and décor show their age, and the buffet plates could use an update as well. Even with these minor issues, Western Sizzlin remains a wonderful choice for an affordable and satisfying buffet meal. For the variety, price, and friendly service, it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The bread is normally a high light to the start of our meal. The 1/2 steakhouse burger (Lunch time) had very good flavor. Make sure to order it medium well so you can enjoy some of the juices. Otherwise it will be dry. The fries were like warm. The season steakhouse wings were great!! Love how they put the buffalo sauce on the side so you can enjoy the wing flavor. Now the crispy Brussels sprouts yes they were crispy. But they lacked flavor, even salt and pepper couldn't revive these. I have had better from Longhorns, very disappointed. Ordered parmesan crusted chicken (12oz) with loaded potatoes for my parents. They loved the meal and it was take out!! Also a mixed green salad with blue cheese and loaded potato soup. Our waiter Gavin was great from start to finish. When I asked her for recommendations she was honest. Wanted to try the French onion soup but since I was doing it as a take out, she said the other soup would be better for take out. So I ordered the loaded potato soup.

We expect there to be some wait times on a Friday night at a popular spot but if your wait staff continually apologizes for the slow service then it's not just in the customer's mind. I won't name our waitress cause I don't think it was her fault. The place was lively with the weekend crowd and we were seated pretty fast. The entrees were great when they did reach the table. My ribeye was cooked to the perfect temp and the Brussel sprouts were very good. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well. The service put a damper on an otherwise great family dinner.

Heck even a Medium is alot so We had some to bring back to our son(which he wolfed down as soon as I gave him the box lol) I also got the Enlightened Spinach salad and the Lavender drink Spiked. Everything was excellent! I wished We had one closer to where I live because We would be there Alot!! Mellow Mushroom blows the other Pizza places out of the water always and consistently!!!! Alabaster really doesn't have much in the way of good restaurants so We have to travel alot to get anything not basic b. itch level. The vibe is always good!
