They are the best I have had period. The grain is exceptional and the knife slides through as it would soft butter. The taste compares to no other filet. It will be worth the trip to drive from the westerly end of PCB to Cahalls for this cut of steak! Pair with the twice baked potato! My, my, heaven on earth!!! I eat here whenever I am in PC around lunch. My all time favorite is the tuna salad and the occasional Snickerdoodle cookie. Everyone here is down to earth and treats you like family! First time I went for a salad I ended up with the red beans and rice special with sausage. It was fantastic! Salad fail though. The only true disappointment was the salad topped with a scoop of chicken salad. Neither was fresh (much of the lettuce had brown spots) and the chicken salad tasted "off"....old or canned or something indistinguishably wrong with it. Two bites and I left the rest.

They were down 3 servers so there was a bit of a wait, but it was raining so we were in no hurry! Lisa was our server and she was a pro! Funny, enjoyed her job, and spot on with her recommendations. I had the pineapple coconut pancake, which comes with 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon. The pancake was so big it was nearly hanging off the plate, and so yummy! Hubs had the 2 egg breakfast with sausage, toast, and potatoes. He loved everything, especially the potatoes! Eggs were perfectly cooked as well. This is a cute spot with a large dining room, located in a strip shopping center near the naval lab. They have huge sandwiches for lunch as well. We ordered a takeout chicken salad sandwich and I've never seen so much chicken salad on a sandwich! It was also amazing! Really great spot!

I quite often call in and get an order to go as I'm usually by myself. I've been eating here since I moved to Lynn Haven back in 2006. Very casual comfort, exactly what I'd expect from a restaurant with a Bayou namesake…read more The place has an unusual menu limited only to daily specials for lunch, so I initially got the impression that I was at some prison-like boarding school. But once I took my first bite, I was pretty satisfied. I had the country-fried steak, along with mash & gravy, and rice & gravy. It was good, and for under $20, I really can't complain. The place is huge, very spacious with both indoor and water-side outdoor seating.... something I'm not used to seeing in Los Angeles. It almost felt like a studio set at Universal. Definitely a lot of Bayou character! Service staff was young and friendly, without any of the pretentious I'm used to in La. The folks are real, and I appreciate that. Because of the limited menu, I'd advise you call ahead and make sure it's something you like, cuz if it's not, you're SOL. I like it. I'll definitely be back.
