Lots of food for the pricing with relatively quick service, not a real large place and can be somewhat loud, but certainly acceptable.

Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try. read more

Always consistent for a great breakfast at a reasonable price. I love watching how everyone behind the counter works in harmony to construct your breakfast meal, employees are always pleasant and welcoming. Expect morning crowds on weekends and perhaps a wait. A more modern Waffle House, or maybe it's just gotten some remodeling because the outside and the inside are clean. When I arrived at 8:00am on a weekday, there was heavy traffic on Del Prado and Cape Coral. Nice to get out of that with a few other customers here. Typical Waffle house night leaving the downtown area for a late night meal after drinks with the woman of my dreams. We opted to go into a near by waffle house where she bee lined right to a dirty table and almost instantly our server Kelly swung by within seconds before we even thought of sitting ti wipe and clean our table. And even indulged my usual request to order whatever you'd like for my meal. Resulting in a simple yet appreciative chicken Blt and hash browns with ham fried in a combo I didn't even know was an option till this night. I wasn't able to give it a half star! Was looking forward to eating here and the experience. To my surprise, zero eye contacts with customers, greetings or "hey, seat anywhere you would like!". Walked in and first thing you see is the waffle machines dirty, floors dirty, employees sitting, having a conversation while tables are dirty. They need to take pride, since they decided to work there. Presentation means a lot, and reflects on gratuities. Went there with family and expectations were aceptable until we walked in. Sadly, we just turned around and walked away. Only an elder female employees behind the counter made eye contact and said nothing. Oh, Waffle House, GET IN MY BELLY. Let's be honest, Waffle House is NOT the epitome of fine dining! It is a greasy spoon (though this location is new so not so greasy yet!). It's cheap, it's fast and it gits 'r done. (or if you prefer, it grits' r done! Haha) Despite my best efforts, I tried to eat 'light'. I know I can't do this at a breakfast place because I always want savory AND sweet. And at a place literally called WAFFLE HOUSE, you HAVE to get a waffle!! (Pecan waffle, more exactly). It wasn't the best waffle I've ever had, but it was still good, pecans were plentiful and added a nice crunch. Plus, it literally says Waffle House - how fun! The hash browns were just ok, I ordered it smothered in onions there were a few chunks of raw onion. The bacon egg sandwich was ok. Overall disappoint and rather dirty ! If your expecting a fine dining breakfast experience, Waffle House isn't for you. If your wanting to experience a true classic, American diner, then I recommend it. I gave it 5 stars not because it was the best breakfast I have ever had but because it met my expectations for what it is. They were really busy, but the food still came out hot and tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service our server Bella provided, even amongst the controlled chaos of the kitchen, which, even though they were slammed, kept pumping out accurate orders. Went to Waffle House for the first time since they opened. Our waffles were raw, bacon was so hard could not eat. I am questing that the manager had no food safety training because employees were drinking soda out of bottles from the restaurant refrigerator and putting the cap back on the bottle and placing the bottle next to the salad to be served to customers. A not so nostalgic visit. A Creole server cared less that we were there and got 2 of 3 orders wrong as it is complicated. They served my burger on toast when I did not ask for that. Wife order chicken without bacon and it came with bacon. The hash brown rings were not being used at the Cook Station like they were supposed to be so they just served flat burnt hash browns. Not once ever bothered to come by and see if everything was okay, I drank warm tea and no ice cubes in the water. The burger would have probably been okay if it was served properly. I've always wanted to eat at a Waffle House but was put off by the divey ness. This is brand spankin new and, though really small, serves food fast and efficiently. We were there for breakfast and both ordered the All Star breakfast. We both ordered the waffle, of course, which turned out to be flakey and tasty. I had two eggs over well done, toast, bacon, and hash browns with sausage gravy. The hash browns were delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sausage gravy was pretty good and not too salty. The coffee was not "a damned fine cup" but close. Our waitress was attentive bringing refills of water and coffee at just the right moment. The restaurant itself was very clean; one of my personal prerequisites for any fine dining. Even if it is a diner. Note: the paper takeout menus at the register have two coupons, one for 10% off your meal and another for a free slice of pie (we got a slice of apple pie to go).
