Ryan photographed our wedding in January 2010. We thought he was awesome! Ryan took all the…read morepictures we wanted, and he remained totally calm and collected in the midst of a busy, crazy day! He handled all of our family and friends really well. We have nothing but great things to say about his pictures -- he captured lots of great moments, and the posed shots were wonderful as well. Many of them are hanging on our wall. I highly recommend using Ryan!

I have a couple of the photos up around my house as art, and am inspired by them every day. My husband and I used Ryan for our wedding photos four years ago because he takes a different vantage point than most of the other photographers we have seen. We cant stand all of the 'classic' poses and pictures, and we didnt see any of that from Ryan. He is an incredible joy to be around, and was relaxed - even at our wedding. When our son was a year old, we had Ryan do a shoot for us on the UC Santa Cruz campus where Robbie and I met. The photos were gorgeous. Ryan captures so much personality, and was able to keep my one year old happy for the entire shoot. Im pretty sure he even sang him a song =). We are expecting #2 any time, and Ryan will most definitely be doing the shoots if he will tolerate us again. We highly recommend Ryan for weddings, family, and landscape shoots.

Daniel Sheehan is truly an amazing photographer. I have been to many photo sessions in my life,…read morewith the ugly backgrounds and cheesy smiles. I wasn't sure what to expect with a live-action photographer! Our engagement photo shoot was pretty awkward because we both had preconceived ideas of how it was supposed to go. I was expecting more direction, he was just wanting to document US. It was much easier during the wedding because there was so much going on we had no time to think about posing (except for a few mandatory family pics), plus we were happily married and had perma-grins all night. Daniel was able to use his extensive professional experience to deftly capture the best moments of the evening for the nine hours we had him hired for (pre-wedding also). Looking through them now I feel like I am back in the moment reliving the fun and joy. We also asked for all of the RAW photo data as part of our agreement, which he was more than happy to comply with, which is sometimes hard for a photographer to do. http://www.abeautifuldayphotography.com/blog/2014/09/06/jodi-and-eugenes-within-sodo-wedding-photos/

Daniel was exactly what we were looking for: a professional, courteous, friendly (and award-winning!) photojournalist who could capture our special day in his own way -- sidelong glances, reactions to speeches, unique angles and frames -- without the conventional posing and other wedding day cliches. Very highly recommended.

I'm incredibly happy that we did as he was not only an excellent photographer, but he was prompt, helpful, and incredibly flexible. We never went more than a day between communications and he guided us through the entire process in the weeks/months leading up to the big day and our engagement shoot. The day of he showed up prompt and looking classy and then the rest of the night he seemed just one of the guests. We had preview photos the very next day and about two weeks later we received a package from him with everything and then some. We still have the mugs in our cabinet.

I was most impressed with how they juggled our crazy relatives. We had a delicate family situation with some big personalities, and Joe effortlessly walked the line between "getting what we wanted" and not ruffling feathers. He was in command without being commanding, was flexible yet faithful to our requests, and moved us through the picture process with poise and a positive disposition. If you have crazy family, you could not do better. During the ceremony he was a ghost. I can't actually remember him or Erika being present, yet the photos from that moment are equally parts intimate and sweeping. He captured it all--the guests, the wedding party, the vibe and the reception. We had a killer dance party following the festivities, and they were unafraid to get into the mix. Those are my favorite pictures from the night, and Joe and Erika were an unobtrusive team that captured it all. Can't say enough. The price was right, we found a package that fit our needs, and we will treasure the photos our entire lives.

Rose was simply the best. Period. End of review…read more For backstory: I had low expectations coming into this because I had previously hated the headshots I got before her. The lighting was bad, made me look 10 years older and accentuated every line on my face. It left me feeling pretty disgusted with how I look. Off the bat, the experience is just different. You meet at cute cafe. Rose goes over what to expect quickly and you head out around the area to snap a few different backdrops. She knew exactly what looked good and especially tips for posing to look the most natural. At no point in time will you struggle to figure it out on your own (like my past experience). I love that you meet in this casual setting. It takes the pressure off to begin. She asked the purpose for my appointment which was so thoughtful and personal. I relayed that I got a promotion to a senior leadership position and I really wanted to convey fresh energetic vibes which she totally captured. I felt like a quintessential millennial boss! From here, you get going on the snapping. Chatting with Rose was actually my favorite part. It was easy, fun and honestly a great time. How many times can you say that about getting work headshots done?! After about 20 min and 4 locations - we sat back down to go over images and what packages I wanted. I chose THE PROFESSIONAL $449 | 6 Final Edited Images -- Duplicates in Black & White -- Sized for Both Print & Web-Use -- Additional Edited Images - $20/ea. All together was $49 (deposit) + $400 and I tipped $80. It may seem a bit pricey but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR and more! I loved that I didn't have to go into a stuffy studio. $49 deposit was added to this. It was genuinely hard to choose. I loved every one! I went with the ones that had a warmer back drop. I was wearing white and the contrast was just perfect. She knows what she is doing! I didn't expect to want to use these for social media but I totally did. Rose even gave me an unedited version right after our session so I could use for our company website without waiting - it was awesome. I am forever going to refer every person I know to come here as long as Rose is the photographer. Will post my photos once the edited ones are back to me!!

I came to Happy Hour looking for some professional photos to use on my LinkedIn. Unfortunately the…read morephotos I ended up with were not up to the caliber I would need for a professional profile. Garrett was kind and helpful during our 30min session. I was not terribly impressed with the results, but also felt badly about having taken up his time and so I paid the $300 with the hopes that the two photos would look better after post-processing. Of course, there wasn't much of a difference in the final product. When I subsequently reached out to Happy Hour Headshot to let them know that I was not happy with the work and wouldn't be using the photos for my profile, their response was to let me know that "from a technical and creative perspective [my] images are exactly what [they] shoot for" and that they could offer me a "discounted re-shoot". Clearly, I am at fault here for having paid for a product I didn't like (and I don't expect to get any sort of refund at this point), but I would certainly not recommend this service to anyone.
