This review is for Dr. Brottman's office at Elmhurst Clinic on Schiller…read more I saw Dr. Brottman, cardiologist, for a benign heart arrhythmia I've acquired during pregnancy. I arrived early and had to wait over an hour past my appointment time. This was annoying as I had left work early only to sit in a waiting room. Dr. Brottman himself was fine, but what has prompted me to write this review is from a horrible billing problem, which I could not appeal. Dr. Brottman is an in-network provider and he ordered a 24-hour holter for me, which I had put on at his office. His office then sent my holter to an out-of-network company for analysis. So, I go to my in-network doctor but then get hit with an unexpected big bill for an out-of-network thing. I was never informed the holter would go somewhere out-of-network... Going to an in-network doctor, everything is supposed to be in-network. Apparently someone at Elmhurst Clinic noticed their error because I received a letter that my appeal was denied - this was the first I ever heard of it. Soon after receiving the appeal denial, I received the bill. Called my insurance, submitted another appeal. I later get a letter that my appeal attempts are exhausted. So, even though I went to someone in network, their office sends things out of network and I am stuck paying the bill. I got referred to a different cardiologist at Advocate Midwest Heart Specialists, where I had to do another holter monitor. I've had no issues with them - they use an in-network company to analyze their holters, which is supposed to be the norm! I was pretty disappointed with my care at Elmhurst Clinic's Cardiology group on Schiller. As a healthy person who ended up with this temporary arrhythmia with no symptoms, I can't tell you how annoying it was to go through lots of expensive tests, the long wait time, having little contact with Dr. Brottman, and then get hit with the big out-of-network charge from my in-network provider...which I have no choice but to pay. The whole time I was told everything was probably temporary and related to pregnancy...and surprise, it is resolving on it's own and my arrhythmia is almost completely gone. But, not without a lot of frustration, time, and money.

PCP Providers they are an excellent clinic with really nice doctors. you have a patient portal,…read morehowever no one uses it and you can not view your test results on it, that is bummer, but the doctors are nicer and its worth it. my doctor always calls me to talk about my results and she is really nice and talks to me, instead of acting like a know-it-all like most do today. We are in charge of our health and we need to do research of our own, because most doctors are motivated by bonuses and kickbacks from big pharma and they do not have our best interest at heart. The best PCP is a general practitioner and make sure you choose an MD. as your PCP, not a nurse practitioner. An internist is a second best, but usually they are the ones who do not listen to us and think they know best. You are the one living in your body, you know what is going on, only you know how you feel, with all the poisons and toxins in our air, water, food and everything around us we are overloaded with plastics, preservatives, fake colors and fake flavors, and glyphosate and GMO's and drugs in our water, we are sicker than ever because our bodies were never meant to live in such a toxic environment, so they are fighting us and begging for help, side effects are YOUR BODIES PLEADING you for HELP. Doctors no longer know how to help us, and to them- the sicker we are and the more drugs they can prescribe- the better and more money in their fat wallets. You are in charge of your body and every pill and every treatment is YOUR decision, no one elses. YOURS. You do more research for a mechanic for your car than you do when you choose a doctor. Please do more research and if you don't feel heard, if you don't feel like your doctor is giving you the attention you deserve find another one. Believe it or not, your insurance has more doctors and PCP's than one or two, you do have choices. They need to learn that if they don't start treating us with dignity and respect we will dump them. We used to have nice small private clinics and these doctors used to care about their patients returning, because its like running your own business, you need people to like you, to want to come back. These huge corporation (network) doctors could care less, and even if you do find a nice doctor their hands are tied with the network rules, never more than 15 min per patient and most of it you spend with an assistant. The doctor comes in for 2 or 3 min and leaves. Mostly never answering your questions or listening to everything that is happening to you. because the network (a bunch of office bureaucrats) made a schedule for ALL the doctors to treat us like an assembly line at the factory. They treat us like cattle, and I am NO Cattle, ARE YOU? Lets stand up for ourselves and change doctors who do not treat us as human beings with dignity and kindness.

I like talking to him and he's really down to earth, especially when you're dealing with people lives. Our other MD. is semi retired, so we got Dr.Nasir. very happy with the change.
