I eat WaBa Grill often, and the chicken bowl I had today honestly tasted 100 times better than any other location I've been to. Absolutely terrible experience at Waba Grill. The chicken I was served was completely BURNT--dry, black, and practically inedible. How does food like this even make it out of the kitchen and get served to a customer? I paid for a meal, not a plate of burnt chicken. There's a difference between grilled and completely ruined. This is unacceptable and shows a serious lack of quality control. If I'm paying my hard-earned money for food, I expect it to at least be cooked properly. I would go to this Waba for 3 years when there 2 woman that worked behind the counter. They were sweet, attentive, and quick. They always got it right. The new guys there are a negative. I walked in for a pick up and saw 4 people waiting in line. The tall male working the register around 12:50pm today sucked. Very poor customer service. As I waited 6 mins for my pick up order that was ready to the left of the register the 4 people walked out not making any purchases. 2 of the 4, a couple, said "they don't even see us. Let's go to Panda Express." They walked out. I am on lunch and did a pick up order because I wanted to skip a wait. As the people leave I'm staring at my food that is sitting there. Also note that the tall gentleman made eye contact with me and never said anything. No "hi, welcome" or "I'll be with you in moment". Watching him work, he was very slow. I was annoyed and irritated. Went in to store to order a mini tofu bowl. No one was at the counter becasue the woman was cooking so I thought I'd just wait for her to notice me. She didn't but she did drop her tongs on the floor then picked them up and put them in the aluminum container and walked to the back. I thought surely she was going to come back and wash them or use a clean set but she did not. She continued to flip the meat on the grill with the dirty tongs. Poor customer service at this location. I walked in and had to use the restroom. Gladys the cashier refused to allow me to use the restroom even after I told her I was planning on buying food. She harassed me about buying food first before giving me the code to use the restroom. Then when I got to use the restroom, they had no soap to wash my hands. i've been eating here pretty consistently over the last few months and typically the broccoli is yellowing and mushy and there tends to be a lot of gristle in the meat, but the other day was the absolute last time i ever eat here. there was what appeared to be a larva in the steak and i was so disgusted that i threw up what i had already eaten. some of the broccoli that was included with my plate was also rotting and grey in spots. overall just a truly disgusting experience. i wish i would've taken photos but i threw up into the plate so that wouldn't have been pleasant to look at. would give zero stars if i could. read more

It is not my proudest moment but I mistaken this place for Flame broiler which is closer to my office. I had phoned in my order. And I didn't want food to go to waste. So I drove over here anyways. It was a simple order. Veggies only, white rice no cabbage. Can't mess that up. I waited maybe a handful of seconds before I was greeted and my ordered was being prepared as I walked in. It was under $7, and since it was to go I was given sauces and utensils with napkins. It is nice not having to ask for those (Now a days you have to ask). I ordered 2 bowls over the phone. Both with avocado. After the cashier, Alan, was rude to me and my girlfriend while paying for our order, I double check the order. Sure enough, there was no avocado on one of the bowls. So I told him it was missing and that I'd like the avocado. He said he could ring me up for it. And I said that he should be "comp" it since he's the one that messed up the order. He said "that's stupid" and I said I'd be in touch with the management. While sitting in my car outside writing this complaint, he comes out to my car and offers me the number of the manager. I told him to go away and that I'll reach out myself. He continues to harass me in my car saying "what're you gonna do, hit a minor?" This behavior is absolutely unacceptable by ANY employee of ANY franchise. His actions reflect poorly on Waba Grill and should result in his termination. I will be expecting a response form Waba Grill corporate. And I will be sure to take my business elsewhere. read more

The SHORT RIBS ARE BACK!! This is by far my favorite location of the Waba Grill's in Huntington Beach. This is the location on Beach and Ellis. When I went in I noticed this location has a high volume of phone calls and staff members asking if its for their location. I inquired about it and it seems that people are mistaking this location with other locations around the area. I've read some of the yelp reviews and looks like people are writing inaccurate reviews based on location. As a local, I think the ratings for this location is wrong since a lot of people confuse it with the other 2 locations in HB. As for my experience, every time I go in I get greeted with a nice smile, staff members are super friendly and accommodating. They will do their best to make you plate or bowl to your liking. Like getting half brown and white rice. :) The SERVICE IS IMPECCABLE! Their food is delicious! Did I mention, the RIBS ARE BACK!!! So good! The location is very clean.
