I absolutely love Hillman in the Morning. To me, it is genuinely a five star show. Jam packed with stupid humor, sarcasm, and right-wing craziness. The reason I'm giving AAF 4, and not 5 stars is because I absolutely do not listen to the station anytime outside of the 5:30a - 9:00a time slot. Not really my favorite genre of music. read more

Can't believe there's no love for AAF. Besides playing a decent selection of rock, the DJ's are all great (if you can get over G Hill sucking up to W...odd political decision for a MA working-class radio station...but Mistress Carrie, Xiu, Spaz, LB, KB, Denny, Danielle - they're great)...they're constantly giving out free tickets, they support everything Boston, and they run a ton of charity events, like the Walk and Rock for change. The Hill Man Morning Show keeps me laughing on the way to work every morning, and there's a surprising amount of intelligent debate on all sorts of topics (although you often have to dig for the key points between jokes about Spaz). It gives you a real feel for the people of Boston as you hear listeners call in to give an opinion on the day's hot topic. I've grown up on this radio station, and it beats anything else on the dial. No joke about this station, I really do not think I have heard something so horrid on the radio since I drove with my dad while he listened to conservative talk shows including Rush Limbaugh. The lingerie contest is legit. They are sponsored by the free-on-the-street porn rag, Barstool Sports. If you are self-respecting human being, let alone a self-respecting woman, you will not participate in this garbage by listening to WAAF. The only female voice I heard on the station (and this includes bands played), was from a female DJ who was being encouraged to participate in this aforementioned display of undies for the pleasure of sweaty, horny men. Why does she work for WAAF? Got me. I hope they pay her well. Anyway, if you can't stop scratching your balls and love arena rock, this is the station for you. Don't be fooled by the occasional playing of a Zeppelin song, it will inevitably be followed by some piece of trash. Is this suppose to be a radio station because sometimes I don't think it is. Most commercialized radio stations are pure horse shit but this one takes the cake. I thought WHJY was bad with commercials but this one is worse. I swear every time I put on this radio station, there is either a commercial or all talking. Where the hell is the music? Put this station on at about 7 in the morning and you won't hear a song play for nearly an hour, it's that ridiculous. The playlist( if you can actually hear it) isn't all bad. Their playlist is better then WHJY because it's not the same old, outdated rock songs that they play. This station does play more modern rock and metal then WHJY does but again there is so little music played that it doesn't help. Overall commercialized radio stations today are horrid. They all have too much commercials and they play the same songs everyday. It is time for us as listeners to unite and phase out commercialized radio stations altogether. Thankfully most newer vehicles come with Sirius radio which is a million times better then commercialized radio stations. Sirius radio has no commercials, a very wide variety of music and no stations ever go out on you if you travel far. Hopefully Sirius radio will take over. For now I am stuck with a vehicle without Sirius radio so I have to suffer through commercialized radio but my iPod synthesizer helps me listen to my own playlist sometimes, even though the device sometimes doesn't work properly. Sooner or later, commercialized radio station will be gone as it should be. read more

I listen to the Hillman Morning Show, almost every morning on my way to work. Mostly I can be seen shouting at my car stereo. I think I listen to this show mostly to help myself wake up, the insanely backward republican point of view gets me so agitated! It fuels me more than coffee, which is saying a lot. I think they table interesting topics, though most of the time I disagree with their points of view. I listen to the station on the way hone sometimes, but I cannot stand Mistress Carrie's show AT ALL. I find her to be one of the most obnoxious DJs of all time. When it's music that's on - I can get down. Mostly with the older tunes, most of the newer songs are really really similar. read more

Here's a story: in May, while at a concert, WAAF picked me as a winner for tickets to a Motley Crue show. They didn't have the tickets at the show, so they said they'd call me. The day OF the show, I didn't hear from them. After countless calls and emails, a guy calls me and says they don't have the tickets anymore, but would offer me two sets of tickets to any show this summer. He said he would call me back shortly so I could tell him which concerts I want. Two months, 10+ emails, a dozen tweets, and several phonecalls later, I got nothing. The only help I got was from Mistress Carrie who said she'd send the promo team an email..but looks like that didn't help. The unprofessionalism of dealing with someone who won a prize astounds me. read more

I have to admit I hung on to AAF after the demise of BCN as they played some pretty decent music. Couldn't listen to the nonsense of Hillman who has a difficult time trying to put together a sentence. Once he left and Mike B took the helm it was back to good morning radio. Mike played some great music with little stupid talk fill. Carrie also had a knack for playing good music, and as well had some great interviews. Boston is screwed now with no good radio stations, no way to hear new music, just repetitive "classic rock" and morning useless talk. RIP WAAF. I hope someday someone creates a radio station that will do all things that BCN and AAF did. I'm going to jump in on Sirius because it's painful to listen to Boston radio. read more

I wish this show wasn't so in-your-face right-winged because it might be a lot funnier. It's quite often offensive most of the time and reminds me a lot of frat guys in college. I just wish they'd be more informed about what they talk about because they might make more of an impact. read more

I agree, this station gets one star becaue it can't get zero. This and WHJY are the two worste rock stations in the area.

I don't know why there is so much hate for WAAF. The Hillman in the Morning show is great and keeps me entertained driving to work every morning. All of the hosts are hilarious. I find myself laughing out loud every morning listening to their sarcastic humor. Outside of the morning show the station plays all types of great rock. They play a variety of rock from the past and the present. All around AAF is a great radio station and should be listened to by all fans of rock! read more

WAAF is a Great Rock Station with a Great Morning Show, but a horrible antenna reception. I love the Hill-Man Morning Show, they always keep me laughing and keep me sane in my hectic commute. The music the station plays is pretty good and they cover multiple genres of rock music. I do miss the Matty & Nick show in the afternoon, but I seem to be in the minority on that and I do get that people want music in the afternoon. They play really great music on the weekends too. My only beef with WAAF is that they are a "Boston" rock station with a studio in Boston, but their 107.3 antenna is out near Worcester, and reception is terrible, sometimes you can't get it at all. They used to have this covered with the 97.7 WKAF simulcast, but then they flipped that station to its own format. Now, if you're unable to get 107.3, which they claim is a small amount of people (they're wrong), that you should get the 93.7 or 104.1 HD Radio simulcasts, when so few people have HD Radio, or that you should stream WAAF on the iPhone/Android app, which is not always convenient and not everyone can do that either. Getting rid of the 97.7 simulcast was the single biggest mistake that Entercom ever made with WAAF and I know several people who stopped listening after that. I chose to deal with the static when I love the station, and occasionally stream, but having an FM Simulcast in Boston - not an HD-only Simulcast - was the right solution and I still can't believe they pulled the plug on that. That being said, the Hill-Man Morning show is funny and their discussions are great, and the music they play is pretty good. I do love this station. They're the only real mainstream active rock station left in Boston now that WBCN and WFNX are gone, and 92.9 has flipped to Classic Rock just like WZLX. So to sum this up, the station is great, their transmission is not. read more

Such complete and total unadulterated suckage!! Stopped listening in the morning because of the mindless drivel of the Hillman show. Insipid bromancing that makes me want to puke. Mistress Carrie was tolerable in the afternoon. But now, the cut their signal, so even on the Expressway the station is static. The they moved Carrie and put on what I can only call Moron and Numbnuts. Obviously the intellectual equivalents of lobotomized hamsters. And to top it off, it's a drive time talk show. Sorry, with only 100 or so albums played in a loop, time to put this station down like a sick animal. read more
