Instead of brushing it off or treating symptoms in isolation, she took the time to do an incredibly thorough history and truly listen. Her special training and interest in sleep health led her to identify a diagnosis that had been completely missed for over 35 years. Because of her insight, I am finally receiving appropriate treatment for something I had unknowingly been living with most of my life. In addition to that, I have complex medical and orthopedic issues, and Dr. Yong has been an essential guide in helping me navigate all of it. She looks at the whole picture, not just one problem at a time. Her strong connections with specialists and thoughtful referrals have made a huge difference in the level of care I've been able to access. Dr. Yong is thorough, compassionate, and deeply committed to her patients. I always feel heard, taken seriously, and supported. I am incredibly grateful to be under her care. She provides regular and frequent follow-ups, as well as consistent communication. I am extremely lucky to have her supporting my health.

I've been with her for over a year now specifically to resolve chronic obesity that I have struggled with most of my adult life. It has been a life changing experience. On top of working on my weight she has become my GP and either treats or refers me out for any health issues that arise. From Poison Oak to Inner ear issues, she will guide you through it all. She is extremely pro-active with whole health management and dedicated to making sure her patients lead long healthy lives feeling the best they possibly can. I searched for years and visited multiple doctors before I found her. If you are looking for a doctor that will take your health seriously and will work with you long term, she's your gal! I was pleasantly surprised that her office had moved from a medical building into a private residential home across the street. The parking is easy, and I feel so much more comfortable in this home like setting. The house doubles as a sleep research center in the evenings, so don't be surprised by the cameras and some of the equipment. It is used to monitor overnight patients during sleep studies. I love the girls who run her office!! They are integral to her successful practice. I have come to know and adore them over the last year. Booking appointments, prescriptions, referrals are always a smooth easy process. Most of their communication is done by email, which I love and prefer. They are professional and kind, running a quiet, peaceful office. With Marjorie's treatment and care I have seen remarkable success with weight loss. It has been done in a steady maintainable fashion all while regularly monitoring my blood work, bone and muscle mass, and blood pressure. It's never just about dropping pounds but about getting me to the healthiest version of myself. Thank you, Dr. Yong and Staff! You have truly changed my life for the better, I am so grateful for you.

They are empathetic and genuinely curious, which are qualities that often feel missing in today's medical system. When I developed a sinus infection, they made sure I was seen and treated right away so I could move forward with a more intensive procedure the following week. And the icing on the cake is that George helped save my life back in 2019 (prior to co-founding NPMD). There is not enough gratitude in the world for him. We checked in, waited 45 mins, then were brought back to a room with No. Air conditioning, and waited for an hour . It was so hot we had to sit in the hallway. The "nurse or whoever she was" someone in scrubs was in the hallway and I asked if they can take the xray this way the dr doesn't come back after an hour and 45 mins and then we have to wait for an xray. I also asked if she could bring my daughter ice in which she brought a really hard pack of ice that had no bend or softness to it, which obviously hurts to lay on a swollen wrist. She said let me ask. 15 more minutes, I found out there is NO xray machine. The NP came out to talk to us in the hallway, very nice. She told us they have no xray machine and she needs an xray. I understood that which is why I was there in the first place. I asked her if she can stabilize it at least until we can get her to a doctor tomorrow. She then said yes. When she was gone for a while, I walked down the hallway to just say we were gonna go home watch the emergency room at this point were there for two hours. That's when I saw her and the woman that I've mentioned in the scrubs in the office with a wrist brace met for an adult. It was the same size breeze I wore after my wrist surgery! Ivan said if you guys don't have anything to treat a kid do you have anything to stabilize it so I can at least get home. They said of course, I said great because I don't wanna put her in a brace that is bigger than what she needs and it's not going to do anything or potentially make it worse. The NP then brought out the material that she placed my daughter's wrist on and then wrapped it. This was all done in the hallway by the front reception. And then paid a $30 co-pay which I think is ridiculous. I have no idea what I was paying for it. We left my daughter was in so much pain at night. She wanted us to remove what they used to stabilize her wrist. What a joke it was two inserts from a shoe and an ace bandage. The inserts have a curved down obviously because they use them flipped over. I'm not a doctor but in my head, I don't know how a potentially broken wrist would be good stabilized in a down direction. I am completely unhappy with my experience. The fact that there was a sleep study going on in the room two rooms ahead of us with a huge queen or king-size bed. I also thought that was weird. We're in an urgent care with sick people and you have a woman in there doing a sleep study you're also applying all of the things to her scalp with the door wide open and her having no privacy. I can't imagine receiving an additional bill outside of my co-pay being that there is nothing done, I will contact my lawyer to fight charge. Next time, please be honest in the services that you offer! To have a seven year-old at your facility until 11 PM just to be told that you can't do anything when she's in pain is awful. I would've just brought her to the emergency room. I'm a fan of all types of music but to have rap/ hip hop played at that volume in an environment where people are sick and there are small children seemed unprofessional to me

We may think that with the help of modern medicine and scientific advances, along with medications and doctors, we can overcome pain and illness. However, my recent experience after several days of severe and mysterious illness showed me that beyond good health and helpful medications, it is the skilled and capable physician who can truly restore health to a suffering patient. Unfortunately, despite the remarkable medical advances in the world--especially in the United States, which is at the forefront of scientific research--experienced doctors who are naturally gifted in accurate diagnosis and are deeply knowledgeable and seasoned are quite rare. In this difficult journey, I consider myself very fortunate and blessed to have Dr. Aref Karbassi as my family physician--an exceptional and noble human being who dedicates time and uses his extensive knowledge, experience, and remarkable intelligence to carefully examine and treat his patients. Today, at the height of my pain and distress, just a phone consultation with Dr. Karbassi's office and one single dose of his prescribed medication gave me the feeling of a second birth.
