They started by asking lots of questions to find out exactly what I would be doing to make sure they would have the right support. The staff also sold me a shoe insert that I think really made a difference in how supportive the skates felt. It was about $70 on top of pretty expensive ice skates but well worth the cost in my opinion. I highly recommend the store for any hockey needs. They seem to also be really great with children and everyone else who had questions in the store that evening. The facility also has sharpening on site, so my skates could be baked and sharpened and ready for me to wear the same day. But the best part is... It didn't smell like hockey in there at all. (:

You are also able to order online which is awesome as well! What made me write this review was the experience I just had the other day. I really came here to return my sons hockey helmet(which stupid me brought the box without the helmet), but I knew I needed to get my son a new helmet and check the size in the store. Alec was the person who helped me! He was awesome, best customer service experience I have gotten in a very long time! Alec helped me choose a helmet in my budget and fit my son with the right one. I also knew my son needed new skates. They have a machine you stand on that does all the sizing and measurements which was really cool. Alec was not pushy and was price conscious for me which was pretty cool. We found the skates that fit and not only did he help with that but we had them baked and sharpened right then. I also, purchased colored wax laces and told him my husband might kill me if I brought them home for him to lace; and low and behold he laced them right up with a smile on his face. This type of customer service rarely exists anymore sadly. This dude is awesome! Now today I had to go back in and return the helmet I ordered online. He was there again and helped with the return as well as Pat. I actually came in 10 minutes prior to them closing and they didn't act annoyed or anything. Pat was very friendly and had great customer service as well as Nathan. They were all really cool dudes. The return went rather smoothly and everything worked out better then I could have imagined. I will definitely be a repeat customer and I hope these guys stay for a while because they make the store that much better! I highly recommend pure hockey over any place else. You will be happy you came here!!

Absolutely incredible place and staff. I stopped in around lunch time so there was only one person…read moreavailable to sharpen skates, but he was helpful and knowledgeable in doing so. Although it is mainly a hockey shop, they also sharpen ice skates. Sharpening service is only $8 and they give military discount too! The staff are super helpful and offered to readjust the sharpening for free if I needed the adjustment after trying it out since I didn't know what hollow fraction I had previously sharpened them to. It only took about 10 minutes, but probably would've been less if there wasn't someone else in front of me. Excellent spot and will definitely be back in the future for skate needs. Highly recommend!!!

He was super friendly, friendly & knowledgeable & dressed me top to bottom with all my new gear. He didn't push me to buy the most expensive gear but what was most affordable for me which helped me a lot & more importantly what was comfortable. His employees are very helpful as well & they have a wonderful rapport with each other every time I go in. Trent also set me up with the Big Rookies Organization to learn hockey skills where he helps coach with his friend & NHL player Al Peterson who are very helpful. My big issue with this store is that I always want go back & spend money on my new sport! Also the skate sharpening is half the price & better job than the world area. So I suggest you go see Trent & his great employees & great store if you are new to hockey or not.

I come here for public skate weekly and my BF plays for a rec hockey league here…read more +1st star is for the cost. My wallet appreciates the low $6.75 admission cost for the 1ish hour public skate session. Add another $6 if you plan on renting skates. +2nd star is for the hours. They are one of the few rinks that offers several public skate sessions throughout the day, even on weekdays!! +3rd star is for the league game hours. Sounds silly but when the latest game I have to worry about my BF playing is at 8 pm, I'm a happy girl. Over all the ice is alright. It has it's good days and it's bad days. Weekends are definitely crowded!! I tend to go on weekdays during either the 10 am session or the 1 pm (all depends if I sleep in!) to avoid the crowds. Though during the weekdays you run the risk of school field trips. For the adult rec hockey league experience I would be tempted to lower my rating if this was all that I was basing my review on. I have definitely experienced better. The stands almost always have trash strewn about. Several of the refs just don't seem to pay attention to what's happening on the ice, while another was on a power trip one night calling I don't even know what (he extended a penalty by two minutes because the door to the box was slammed closed, WTF?! You have to slam them to close them.) It seems they let things get a bit out of hand with the games. They offer an online payment option for fees that the team really enjoyed. I'm sure that I'll continue coming here because of the hours public skate is offered, but I look forward to my BF's team moving to some new ice.
