I've spotted alligators, blue heron, turtles, lizards.. very cool! All the campsite hosts are friendly and our check-in was very easy and we were also greeted with welcoming service. We chose campsite number 479 right next to Mission Lake and the pedestrian bridge that takes you to the ocean. This campground is so clean, beautiful, and offers multiple bathrooms with showers and restrooms. The bathrooms are clean and the showers have enough space to shower and change. Each campsite I've seen has a dump station and water, which has come in handy. There's also Wi-Fi! There's also a restaurant on the campgrounds and tomorrow night we are going to listen to live music and have a few drinks. I've truly loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone! We were only going to stay for four nights but we extended it to a week because we are having such a great time.

We have a 36 foot camper and the roads were wide enough for us to navigate with other large campers. The sites are paved and ours was perfectly level. Bathrooms were clean and nice, and the staff was very friendly. The park is well kept and nice too. There are over 20 miles of trails to walk or bike (we recommend e-bikes) with all sorts of wildlife. I cannot recommend this enough, plus you get free parking at any of the state park beaches. The campground is full of walkers and bikers of all ages. Be warned: there are fire ants, and they bite, so be aware of that as you wander around barefoot. You may also encounter various snakes and possibly an alligator (we only saw one little guy on the trails). The campsites in the first loop (I think they start at 83) have good afternoon shade and are close to multiple bathhouses. The pool is saltwater and very family friendly too!

They have a water front dog beach so the pups can romp in the sand and the bay water. Adorable. They have facilities here for restrooms and some covered pavilions. They have bands on the beach near the dock in the summer months which is lively. There are a ton of old growth trees which are beautiful. There are steps throughout but it's very manageable. Lots of parking. I do wish they had more intentional landscaping. Pensacola selectively landscapes its parks it seems and I wish this one got more of an overhaul. It's quite large and expansive and with some additional thoughtfulness and planting it could be a very special urban park.

Noting the reviews from years past I see a review that said that the only reason the upkeep is allowed to be so minimal is because it's the only game in town. 13 years later I'm feeling the same.

Signs advertising free meals for kids & movies in the park directly in front of the blue building. My family, dog, and I enjoyed this park, only issue was someone's dog was running loose no leash or owner, dog appears to live directly across the street from the park. Dog was not vicious, but I had to holler at it to make sure it stayed away from us and my dog. I notice a lot of loose dogs running about near parks here in Mobile, so this is not the first time I have encountered that at a local park. Just be cautious if you are there with pets or children.

The facility is bisected by a city street ----I think the original faculty was on 1 side of the street and then they expanded to the other side of the street---the City of Mobile supports this facility and has pushed it as a site for local, regional and national tennis tournaments of all ages---with that many courts, you have to do that. Overall, I think the facility for tournaments is great and it's well-run---also, they have equipment to dry the courts most other facilities do not have---and I think that's a result of the City's push to have large tennis tournaments held there ---its an incentive to go there if they have equipment which can rapidly dry courts since everyone knows it often rains in Mobile . As for the tennis courts themselves,, most are in excellent shape and has its own sitting area for the players---some courts only have benches; other courts have covered benches. For the times in which they tournaments, they courts are usually spectator-friendly and actually there's old fashion stadium type seating for 5-10 courts out there---overall, very impressed with the Mobile Tennis Center although when the event is larger enough, parking is a problem.

Talk to GOD and get a…read moreDOG! #ReflectDogs Love & Forgiveness Okay, although this dog park is much larger than it looks, and it is definitely a solid four plus dog Star Park, it was while we were at the park, this park in particular, that the webmaster notified us that Young Lady's animal rescue charity was now up and live!! So I got an extra point for that alone!! It was the culmination of a two-year journey through well over 1000 dog parks that she took me on, so I could really see the love and forgiveness in action. This park has just about anything and everything you could want. From what appears to be a complete Forest up in the back corner too wide open area for them to run in and the rest of the park. There are plenty of water faucets and poop bag dispensers and trash cans and trees and places to sit. The people were more than friendly and the dogs all had a great time!! The Gated entry is very easy to use and has a concrete slab. There is also a nice concrete pathway that takes you out to the sitting area so if you have Mobility difficulties or are in a wheelchair, you can easily make it out to the seating area. All the wood benches have nicely carved memorials in them. The small dog park is bigger than most big dog parks. My only question would be, who decided putting the squirrel feeder right in the middle of the dog park was a good idea, don't get me wrong, I love it!! I'm just not sure the squirrels knew what they were in for when they headed down into it to get a nut!! Anyway this park is absolutely incredible and a very fitting park for us to launch the animal rescue charity!!
