We had to get some roof cleaning recently, and we ended up going with Vaillancourt for cleaning the main house, but they said that a stand-alone structure couldn't be cleaned and was going to need a new roof. Their price was beyond what we could afford, so I started shopping around. W.E.Brown roofing had good reviews, so we called them about the stand-alone structure. Their price was in our budget, and we really liked the knowledge and experience of the fellow who came out to spec the job, Ron Bush. They were able to get us on the schedule fast, and the team that came out to replace the roof did a great job. It looks beautiful, and the technology behind the new shingles is impressive. A couple sheets of plywood needed to be replaced, and they needed to brace one of the rafters to hold the plywood securely. They explained everything they were doing and why it needed to be done. I was worried the price would shoot up, but it ended up being entirely reasonable, and now that structure's roof is going to last for years. I'm really happy with them, and we're going to go with Brown when it comes time to replace our main roof. It was a really good experience. I don't think anyone really *wants* to get this kind of work done, but when you need it, you need it, and they made it not only painless, but pleasant. read more

Fast response when called about estimate for new roof, good communication. Price was reasonable for entire new roof and skylights- we got a total of 5 estimates, Brown was right in the middle. Roof looks great, would recommend. read more

I have worried over my house for so long, I am surprised I don't have an illness. Lol Thanks to WE Brown, and them working with me, I finally have peace of mind, the rain is a welcomed weather now. My new roof is absolutely beautiful and all the people involved in helping my house to be safe and secure are absolutely amazing people, and I hope the blessing returns to them 1000 fold! read more

As a salesman, Brad sold me everything a man with knowledge of roofing would want. I don't know it all but enough to hire someone. They didn't protect my investment at all. brand new trim, screens, siding and gutters were damaged and there wasn't a side of the house that didn't get hit throwing shingles off the house. all they had to do was set up netting and they didn't 100%. They didn't even have their "In house" crew do the work. I payed extra for work that didn't get done or addressed in the long run. Their head foreman joe came out a talked down about what the "in house" crew would do differently.....well I swear that's who I hired!!!! things like the size of the drip edge over hang was over looked but was promised(its the little things). I payed extra for framing to be done to make a section of roof more sturdy. They didn't even return that amount. also there were damaged screens and back end I had to paint over. I got 3/4 of what I payed for framing back to "repaint the back side"????? this may not happen to you but make sure you get everything in writing and everything you agreed on gets done and done right. I told myself don't mess around its your roof so I picked them from being voted top 3 in Keene and I told myself they don't need to be checked on. I gave brad a check before they were done, he gave me his word. yes my roof doesn't leak but they didn't leave my place better than they found it I end up fixing a bunch of things for example putting the gutter back in the right spot. good luck with your project! read more

The only truly good thing I can say about my experience is that there is a new roof on my house now but the rest of the experience was terrible. I worked with Joe from WE Browning, he was a decent guy at first during the invoicing for my metal roof replacement. It should have been a simple job which he himself said would take 1 day. Instead, he forgot the date he was going to come (Monday) and sent a subcontractor from Maine to do the work starting on Tuesday. This guy and 2 other roofers came to the house, they spent more time talking and leaf blowing my driveway (for some reason) then doing any roofing work. The subcontractor spent a wild amount of time on the phone in his truck while not roofing. Joe then came and informed me the job would be $1400 more expensive for strapping on the roof (which exceeds the 10% agreed upon possible increase from the original invoice.) I said fine just because I wanted to get through the process but I wasn't super happy. They ended their first day just barely having stripped the first side of the roof. I was promised it would be done the next day... that didn't happen. Things seemed to be falling apart at this point and it wasn't until Thursday evening when I was informed that Joe was now firing the subcontractor who turned out to be stealing tools/equipment from the company. So, 4 days into a "1 day job" there was 1 piece of metal roofing on my house, and it was supposed to rain the next day. Joe brought his crew out the next day to get the job done. I've done the rest of the work on my house and wanted this project done in a fair and stress free way to save me from worrying about it but that DID NOT happen. Joe's "team" took way longer than promised, left screws, garbage and cigarette butts on my property, one of them turned out to be a thief who hung out at my home for 3 days and stayed late even after it got dark, and barely anything got done. Then Joe decided that it would be "fair" to upcharge me for his inconvenience and potential profit loss on the job from his own mistake of hiring a new subcontractor that was untested. Not great and honestly soured me on using anyone else to work on my house. read more

I had a nasty leak in my slate roof, big rain storm coming in two days. Brad worked his magic to get a crew out to repair the roof in 24 hours. I don't know how he managed it, but I can't thank him enough. read more

Great experience from start to finish. They came out to estimate my job the same day I reached out, and was able to get the job done the following week for an outstanding price. I needed the job done quickly and that's exactly what happened. read more
