I hate to give bad reviews, but I was truly disappointed in the service at G Nails. I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. At first glance, the salon looked clean and well-maintained. My pedicure was nice, with a long timed massage, but the polish they used was so incredibly old and thick that after 3+ hours of drying time with flip tops on, the second I put on other shoes the polish was ruined. The gel manicure was rushed. After getting halfway through the manicure, I was told the polish color I picked was not available. I was rushed to pick another color even though they didn't have one I wanted. Really, the reason for only 2 stars is due to cleanliness. The manicurist jumped back and forth between me and another customer seated right next to me (no covid-safe spacing here) without washing or sanitizing her hands in between us. Yuck. This shop 0 stars there is only 1 lady here in shop who understands no English I was a loyal customer who came her tipped well on this occasion I explained how to do my real nails lady who barely understood me called manager for me to explain how I wanted my nails done. she messed my nails up taking off fake nails and then had to cut my nails completely off stubby so she just painted over them a couple days go by the jell was peeling off which I paid extra for so I called up to g-nails for a redo or refund the manager kept hanging up on me when I physically went to the shop she said I would have to pay extra to get anything done she and the lady understanding no English we're very rude and disrespectful however before hand was quickly to take my money but not fix problem I will not be returning I would advise others to not support or get your nails done here G-nails in oakdale Minnesota garbage. read more

Very accommodating when we called to get manicures and pedicures for 5 people as soon as possible. They got us in immediately and were very nice and friendly. The price was very good! $40 for both manicure and pedicure ! They were a little rushed because there were only two people working, but we had a good time. read more

Needed a gel manicure for a wedding -- $25, which was fine, the service was just about 30 minutes. The lady did hurt me a few times -- there was some blood around the cuticle which is pretty standard for me and wasn't really a problem, but during the hand massage her own nails kind of dug into my hand. She was very nice, and spoke well enough English to answer my questions, as well as try to sell me some nail designs. 5 days later and my nails are still intact, which is great! But now that some growth has begun, you can see that the polish is very thin/light near the nail bed and thicker/darker towards the tip -- I think if she would have slowed down a lot of this could have been avoided, but it also wasn't a catastrophe -- would go there again. read more

I got a very rushed mediocre gel manicure. The staff was very nice, however the manicure was just bad. The skin around my nails wasn't cleaned up at all, cuticles were barely touched and nails barely filed. There's nail polish on much of the skin around my nails as well. I'm very disappointed in the gel mani I received and unfortunately will never return. read more

Both experiences here were not good. The first time I got a gel manicure. The first nail she filed, she sliced open my pinky underneath my nail and proceeded to tell me I was fine. The shape of my nails were completely uneven and when I asked her to fix them she told me she needed to do the next appointment. The second time I received a gift card so I thought I would try a pedicure instead and paid for a more spendy pedicure. Although my nails looked decent, my "massage" was not good. The woman only rubbed the back my calves & I had to ask the woman to apply lotion as she tried rubbing my calves dry with the rocks & rubber gloves on. Will not go back to this salon. read more

G Nails in Woodbury MN is the worst place to get your nails done. I will never ever go here again, and I will make sure to spread the word to all my friends and family. Please don't waste your money go someplace else to get your nails done. This man has the poorest customer service that I have ever seen in my entire life and I cannot believe that he is running this nail salon. I wonder how in the world did this happen? The man working here harassed and embarrassed me. I went here to get my nails done and I told him that I did not like them. He got extremely mad. He yelled back at me very very loud in front of other customers. Let me first say that he over charged me to begin with. He charges extra for everything and I mean everything. Then he wants to charge me to fix my nails that I didn't like how they turned out. And I let him know that I didn't like the nails 5 minutes after getting them done. He tricked me into doing something else that wasn't what I told him that I wanted. He began abusing my hands pulling and throwing them around all because he didn't want to fix his job that I didn't like. I paid this man to do my nails and I wish I never did. When I told him that I won't be coming back he didn't care. Reading other reviews from other people also telling him that they won't be coming back, and he doesn't care again. They are great. I googled them first bc im new to the area and the reviews were mixed. But I love it. Miley did my tips and they looked fantastic. They were all very polite. I was offered a beverage within 2 min of being thru the door which was nice. They even opened 20 min early on a sunday bc I was early. The place was clean and the tools were all in sterile solutions. Im a stylist so i always get nervous abt cleanliness. I know that they are under new management which may explain why I had such great experience while others did not but I fully recommend this place. Also decently priced. The only reason I'm giving this place a one star is because I couldn't post my review without giving a star first. Otherwise, I AM GIVING THIS PLACE ZERO STARS!! I called on my way over to see if they had any availability for walk-ins or whether I had to make an appointment. The girl on the phone asked what I wanted done, I told her I wanted both a mani and pedi. She told me to come in and that they had walk -in available. Less than 5 minutes later I arrived. I walked in and noticed there was one customer getting a pedicure and a total of 4 employees. The girl at the door looked back and asked another employee Something in their native language, she then told me they were "busy." I asked her are you sure? I just called and you told me you had walk-ins available. She continued to tell me they are busy. From my experiences with discrimination, it was clear to understand that she expected me to look a certain way, and that when she realized I was black they were suddenly "busy." I think it was very unfortunate that they were not able to help me because of my appearance, I was very unimpressed at their lack of customer service. She then changed her story and proceeded to tell me they'll do it for me. At this point I was no longer interested in giving them my business. I said no thank you and walked out. I will never return to this location and spend my money where I am not respected. And if you are a person of color I wouldn't either!! read more

If I could do a zero stars I would. To start my experience my appointment was at 12:15 and they had one other person in the shop and had me waiting I till 12:33. I was completely disrespected and the costumer service was probably the worst I've ever experienced. No only did she not listen when I said my nails were crooked/ the wrong shape she refused to fix them and continued to apply the acrylic. After repeatedly saying I would like them fixed she would snap at me with attitude. Had me pay mid way thru which is completely normal but then when I asked that she would fix my crooked nails that were not the shape I had asked for at all she said " you paid so I'm only doing the color now" I work in the industry and find it very frustrating to have been treated with such disregard. My cuticles and nail beds are swollen and torn up. Please do your selves a favor and NEVER go to this trash of a salon read more

I was in town for work and did a quick search around the hospital I was leaving and this nail place came up as one of the first. I was in and out in about 30-40 minutes for a no-chip manicure and that included the time to remove my old gel polish! And only $25! I was thrilled. And to boot, it's been a little over 2 weeks and no chips at all. They have a great assortment of colors to choose from. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in town! read more

This nail salon has always been my go to place. Ever since the new owner took over, lots of changes have been made that make the salon a lot better one. They changed up the look by repainting the walls, getting some new pedicure chairs, and adding in a few decorations just to make the place seem more comforting to relax in. They also play some really relaxing music that just makes you want to stay there as you're getting a pedicure for example, which I did. And I usually get their luxury pedicures, which involve the usage of massage stones and hot towels for your legs. Their technicians are true pros and are friendly/welcoming towards the customers. A few days ago I went in and got both a mani/pedi. I loved the atmosphere of the nail salon when I came in and sat down! Ambient music was playing and the employees were very welcoming, which made me feel at ease all at once. Their services are averagely priced and the nails that came with those prices are gorgeous and fantastic. So far they still look as if I had just come out of their place! I have tried gel manicures at G Nails twice. They "guarantee" their manicures for 2 weeks. Both times I had gel manicures done, they were chipping in less than a week and lifting up on the sides of my nails. The first time I went to have one fixed, the woman who had done my manicure originally was also the one fixing it and she was pissed because I came in on a Friday afternoon to get it fixed. She was yelling at me that I shouldn't come on a weekend when they're busy...i.e.: she was upset that she was busy fixing my manicure and losing out on doing new manis and pedis and not making money during their busy time. Umm, I'm sorry. This is the time that is convenient for me and your guarantee doesn't have a clause saying when I can come back to get my manicure fixed that you obviously didn't do a good job on in the first place. A couple of weeks later, my manicure was chipping again so I went back to have a new manicure done (one I would pay for). I requested NOT having Van, the woman who yelled at me for coming in on a Friday. So a woman named Nancy did my manicure. Less than a week later, it was chipping like crazy and the sparkly coat she put on top was nearly gone from chipping off. This time I came in on a Wednesday morning when there was no one else in there. I showed her how terrible my week-old manicure was and said she could either fix it (which would require taking it off completely and doing a new one) or just take it off because I know how terrible their work is. She took it off, mad, and when she was done she demanded I pay her $10 for removing the manicure. Ummm, no. It was guaranteed for two weeks...lasted less than one...and she had the choice to fix it by removing it anyway and starting over (way more cost to the business) or just take it off. When I explained this to her, again, she and the owner began yelling at me about how my manicure wasn't chipped (what?!?!) and only the top coat was coming off and that isn't guaranteed. It WAS chipped...both the sparkly coat on top, as well as the gel coat underneath as it was coming up on the sides of my nails and chipping off. They were both yelling at me and also speaking rapidly with each other in their native language in front of me which is so rude when they're obviously talking about me. The owner threatened to call the police and I said go ahead. The TIP I gave Nancy the week before covered the $10 removal and more! She definitely didn't deserve the tip. We kept arguing and finally they said, "you terrible!" and said just go. I told them I would not be back. Unprofessional. Bad work. Unsanitary conditions. Stay away! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I've been going to Gnails for YEARS! I went in for a pedicure last week and received the worst service! Nancy did my pedicure and in the process of doing it someone came in asking for her, she told them to come back in 15 minutes..... she had just started my pedicure and it typically takes longer then that to do a pedicure. At this point she started ripping the gel polish off my nails as it was obvious that she was now in a hurry. All of a sudden I feel a sharp pain, I look down and she had ripped one of my toe nails off and it had started to bleed. Then, she blames me for it, saying I have thin nails... the least she could have done was apologize. Not even a week later my gel polish started to peel. I called Maille as she is the owner of the salon and she's normally the one who does my pedicures. I told her about my experience and she more or less told me she couldn't do anything for me because she's not the one who did my nails. She told me I should've just waited for her to do them in the first place instead of letting someone else do them. Again, I told her about my experience with Nancy and insisted she help me by at least repainting them for me. She said I could come in and that Nancy could repaint them... again I insisted she do it and she finally agreed. When I arrived to have her fix my nails she treated me awful the whole time and made me feel like I was being unreasonable in some way. It's sad but, because of this whole experience I will never be going back to Gnails again. I really expected better treatment and was very disappointed in the way both Nancy and Maille handled themselves. read more
