All of their employees as super nice, helpful, and friendly! They all seem really happy working for this company and that is a joy to see. Justin was the employee I spoke with and he was super nice. They are located in Mapunapuna near Fisher Hawai'i. Don't blink or you'll miss the turn into their driveway! There are lots of vehicles to rent, so if you're ever in need of a rental--- visit them! We had a mishap with the key fob not working while we were at the beach on the east side of the…read moreisland. When we realized it wasn't working, we immediately opened up the fob and found old looking corrosion inside around the battery area. We put a new battery in it and left it open to dry out (if moisture had gotten in it). After troubleshooting to no avail, I called the company and they sent someone out charging a $75 "roadside assistance fee" where a representative brought out a spare key fob. Unfortunately, the replacement fob did not start the car (or even unlock/lock the car). The representative was friendly, but not knowledgeable on other troubleshooting steps to get us back on the road. With the replacement fob taken apart (to swap/replace the battery) the original fob eventually started the car. We even tested it further by turning off and on the car a few times to make sure the old fob was working again. We then drove the vehicle to our next destination, and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start again... we made the most of it and had dinner while further drying out the original fob to see if that would help. In the meantime the company sent a replacement vehicle (at no additional charge). When the rep went to start the original car, it stated right away. The following day, I received a voicemail to go over the additional replacement fob and roadside assistance charges. The voicemail said to reference the email and/or call back for questions. I never received the email after 10 minutes of checking, and then I got a large credit card notification; $350 for the damaged key and $75 for the roadside assistance. I didn't appreciate being charged without being talked to first. When I immediately called back to politely ask some clarifying questions, the person on the phone was very rude and raised his voice to me and my wife. Given that the original fob appeared to have prior water damage and the fact that it did start the car (after drying out, replacing the battery) it was disappointing to be charged $425 for something that may, or may not, have been our fault. And to then be yelled at for asking questions. At the end of the day, the whole ordeal cost us valuable vacation time, added stress, and drastically altered our plans. The car rental itself was affordable but the first car we ended up with was older and a little dingy.

Came on to yelp and this was the first company to respond , I mean in the first 5 minutes this company called me to tell me they were available and can have my vehicle removed from my driveway in 45 minutes. I asked if there is anything I needed to give them. ( Ex: title , registration) because I had nothing to show or give them. Once they arrived it literally took them 6 minutes to hook up and get out. Skylar was able to find a vehicle I could agree on with an affordable price. The cons is the vehicle does need a bit of work to be perfect , but again it's a used cheap vehicle.

If I could I would give them a 0. 2 and a half years ago, I took my car to Pearl City Auto Works for a brake job. It cost me almost $5k to do it. Now they told me I gotta spend another $2400 to fix the same problem. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company. I believe that they either did a poor job 2 and a half years ago or the quality of parts they used suck!! I got ripped off the first time and they tried to do that again the second time around. Found these guys via Geico roadside assistance recommendations. It only took a couple minutes…read more(typically takes 5-10) to get assigned a service provider. When going through the Geico app, your pin drop may be a bit off as it is hard to drag and drop on the screen so it's best to call the tow company once your app updates that they have arrived. I was able to communicate my location more accurately to the tow company allowing them to quickly update their driver on my location. When the driver arrived he greeted me and asked how I was doing and was professional, friendly, and really helpful he even let me keep the car running for the ac to remain on since I had my dog in the car. He approached my dog nicely when he needed to get the mileage from the car. My dog is a rescue and still learning how to be around new people but he approached slowly and kept his hand out so she could smell and be ok (she did try to nip at him a bit at first so I apologized for that she was buckled in so she couldn't reach him) but that's why he adjusted his approach as we tried to read the mileage. He also helped me empty the trunk a bit to reach the spare. I don't like the default jack in the car and didn't have any of my tools or able to phone any friends to help so I'm really glad he was able to help me. This is an eye opener for me though so I need to update my roadside tools for later just to be safe. I did have my air pump but that's how I was able to find the holes in the tire when I hit that pot hole lol. Unfortunate event BUT ON A GOOD NOTE, I was able to find a nice, reliable, friendly, professional tow truck service provider. And I was looking to switch out my tires anyway lol. BEWARE!!! Driver…read morebeware when using Hui in Hawaii. Today, Oahu was under an extreme flash flood warning and Route 83 was completely shut down in both directions by the Honolulu Police Department due to unsafe conditions. We sat in standstill traffic for nearly two hours before officers forced everyone to turn around. We then had to drive completely around the island, sitting in another several hours of traffic just trying to safely get back to Waikiki. I contacted Hui immediately to explain the situation and ask for flexibility on our return time since this was clearly an emergency situation and completely outside of our control. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes to finally reach an agent, I was told that even a police-mandated road closure and severe flash flooding "is not their problem" and that I would still be charged additional fees if the car was returned late. Let that sink in. An active natural disaster, closed highways, and police forcing drivers to turn around apparently do not qualify for any level of customer accommodation. The lack of empathy and customer service was honestly shocking. Emergencies happen, especially in Hawaii where weather and road closures can change rapidly. Most reasonable companies understand that safety should come first. Hui apparently does not. If you choose to use this service while visiting Hawaii, just understand that if an act of God happens, you may still be fully on the hook financially no matter the circumstances.

Once the conference was over that my friends and I were attending, we wanted to be able to explore…read morethe island. Our hotel's concierge suggested Hui since multiple ride shares didn't seem feasible and their 9-hour island tour (~$180pp) was a little expensive for what we wished to do. The app was fairly easy to setup - you have to input your driver license/background check info before getting approved to drive (can take up to 24 hours for review). There are a lot of options scattered throughout Honolulu, including a couple parked at our hotel's garage. All of the vehicles are Toyotas. It was fairly affordable for the 4 of us, especially after being texted a coupon for the first ride. Why HUI was easy: I got approved pretty quickly so I was able to reserve an SUV (a RAV4) within an hour of approval for our excursion. Wasn't hard to find the vehicle in the garage and read thru the FAQ beforehand. They provide a debit card to fill up the vehicle & it's keyless entry. The RAV4 was smooth and easy to drive since I already have an SUV at home. The most difficult things were the people who reserved before us didn't take care of the vehicle - they left sand in the front mats and didn't fill up the tank before dropping off. The automatic driving sensors were off too - I gave plenty of space (2-3 car lengths) and it would still scream "TAILGATING", similarly a couple times driving back into the city the speed limit changed 3-4x within a short distance so I couldn't have enough time to slow down yet it still yelled "SPEED VIOLATION". There has gotta be a little leniency there.

We just left the family home in Kailua when we heard a horrible grinding noise. We couldn't figure out what the problem was but we knew we couldn't continue to drive it. We called everywhere and no one could come out, either they were intoxicated or just didn't want to work on a holiday. I get it, everyone has a life and ohana is important. However, this is too common in Hawaii, these guys only come out when they want. Thankfully my husband found RJ's Towing. This young braddah was very professional, very kind, and came out in less than an hour. He carefully hooked up the car and towed us back to our auntie's house. The cost was very reasonable considering he had left his ohana on a holiday to save our okoles. I would absolutely call RJ's again should I ever need a tow. In case you were wondering what that grinding noise was, it was a damn seed. A teeny tiny seed that had somehow managed to get lodged between the brake pad somewhere. Our neighbor found it before we had made an appointment at the auto shop. Talk about being saved twice in a day. Lol!

It's essentially a convenience store, with some fun tourist gifts and knickknacks. They sell sunscreen, Advil, Pepto-Bismol, and all that kind of stuff. They sell snacks, cereal, drinks, as well as well as more beachy items. They also sell some cute stuff that you could take home if you are here visiting Hawaii. The staff is generally very nice, and professional. Whenever I am staying at the hotel, or attending the annual yoga festival at the hotel, I like to come here to get small items for breakfast. I'm not a big breakfast person, especially if I've got a full day. Also, this is much cheaper than essentially anywhere else on the Turtle Bay property. Hope you find what you need!
