So my recent visit, in which I ended up having coffee with the NEW owners, revealed that the former owners had been winding down towards selling the place - bingo, that's why! I am glad to report that Athelstane is now back baby ! The staff seem re-energised, the coffee is great, the food amazing and that charming atmosphere remains. The breakfast was continental, left on the sideboard and was most ample. The guesthouse has a number of beautiful old furnished entertainment areas which house board games, tvs, books housed with lovely fireplaces. A must stay if heading to the Bellarine Peninsula
