The moment we walked inside Polperro winery, we were greeted by a retro inspired lounge with funky furniture and ambient lighting radiating from legit candlesticks. SWOON. I am not sure what else Polperro could offer to make it more appealing. It boasts a new cellar, villas for overnight guests and a cracking bistro with outstanding food. The only complaint was that the gnocchi wasn't great, and quite pricey. I can't wait to go back, the setting in particular makes for a great day out. It was a special day to remember.

I'd recommend that you do so, if only because it means you will get dinner and show with one of the most entertaining sommeliers you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Trust me, you are sated at the end of lunch here (and I believe that Polperro is open only for lunch). I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of the food. It is prepared with impeccable technique in all areas of flavour and presentation. Not one dish disappointed. This is right up there with the very best the Peninsula has to offer. The type of people who wouldn't think twice about going out of their was to help you. There is huge outside dining area that I imagine would be perfect on a sunny afternoon.
