Perched on the edge of a small man-made lake at Crittenden Estate, these three villas are the…read moreperfect spot for a weekend getaway. Just a couple of hours after arriving I'd wished we had booked more than two nights. Peaceful and fully equipped with everything from breakfast supplies (bacon! eggs! bread! muesli!) to a giant bathroom (candles! spa bath! smelly bath products!) and a bookshelf filled with goodies (scrabble! daggy but entertaining DVDs and CDs! books!) this was my idea of a good time. We unpacked our food supplies, opened the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and then proceeded to get in to full sloth mode. With the Crittenden cellar door and Stillwater restaurant a mere 100m away, we didn't leave the property until we had to check out after our two night stay. Pro tip: Don't attempt the 1000 piece puzzle of the Louvre if you're only staying 2 nights. We did, and failed dismally.
