I suspect the staff or someone not actually living here has written the five star reviews. I live here, so here are the facts:
Pros:
- Close to downtown events, etc.
- Great outdoor walks all over Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati river walks, etc.
- Spacious
- Responsive staff to issues they can actually do something about.
- Nice party room.
- Covered parking.
- Elevators.
- Gym
- Great sunsets, pictures, etc.
- They offer you a free cup of coffee...if they remembered to stock it or someone didn't borrow it all.
Cons:
- Way overpriced for what you get...and no one will show you what others are paying...in other words, negotiate or ask to see what other concessions were made for other people.
- Water heaters are tiny...you cannot take long, hot showers or showers back to back...get to like cold showers and low water pressure.
- No sound proofing between floors or the exterior. You will hear everything...and I mean everything above, below, in the hallways, and that is moving on the outside...drunks, motorcycles, Jake brakes on semis, speed boats, etc. - if you are a light sleeper, avoid this place like the plague...or get it in your contract that if the noise is unacceptable, you can leave without penalty...they won't do it...so that will tell you something...at least not for me.
- Place is a kennel...dogs, cats, etc., abound...I am a dog lover, so, what's not to love.
- Close to downtown events... EVERY weekend Spring thru Summer you will enjoy the noisy, drunken crowds...and also during all sports seasons. Windows open...good luck.
- You will pay dearly and extra for covered parking...and it is not actually covered since only one or two spaces avoid the snow, ice, rain, etc. - you can figure out for yourself why it isn't free. If you park across the street in Don Pablo's lot, you can be towed...and no, Vue180 won't help you there.
- Party room has non functioning TVs, sound, etc. - no oven either.
- No pool.
- Gym equipment, carpet, etc., are old and it smells like a locker room from a 50's high school. They can't seem to keep cleaning supplies or water in stock either... It should be Perrier for what they charge in rent. They need to replace equipment and carpet.
- Elevators are slow...take the stairs...better for you anyway.
- Security is below par...anyone can get past the doors and onto the elevators...simple things like codes for the elevators, etc, do not exist...you will worry about who is in the building or walks in behind others without more sophisticated controls...but only if you love and care about your significant other...remember, this is not Indian Hills.
- The garage area has not been cleaned for the time that I have been here. Leaf blowers may be illegal here.
No, I am not disgruntled, etc. - I just wish someone, like the staff who actually represent the facility, would have told me the truth or lived up to their promises...one of which was that the building was going to be "thoroughly soundproofed...don't worry"...didn't happen...
Still, if you want a river view for a short fling and not for long term residential style comforts, probably the best place to get 5 or 6 people together and rave on...if you want a quiet, peaceful long term stay...I would look elsewhere...and seriously, if the price matched the actual offering...say 1200 - 1400... It would be worth the cons, because being able to hear the motorcycle races every night and eat Beans and Rice every day is well worth the price of admission...trust me...I am a believer.
Seriously, if your company is paying for it and you can sleep through judgement day, go for it!
BTW: The Aqua and Ovation will be finished soon, you might want to wait...they may have a door person, security, and sound proofing...and coffee...lol read more
