Fortunately, I was approached/greeted by a staff member who was eager to serve. After trying on a few pairs and explaining what I needed, and the difficulties I usually have shopping for shoes, the manager helped with some more suggestions. The 2 of them narrowed down the choices the perfect shoe for me. I paid for my purchase, and left the store quite satisfied, and enthusiastic about sharing my experience here on Yelp, as well as my family, and friends.

I politely told the salespeople that I was just looking for now. A short time later I heard a manager (possibly the owner) yelling at her staff saying that they had to ask everybody in the store if any help was needed. I must have been approached by three or four salespeople within only a few minutes. It was way overboard and annoying. Getting frustrated, I ended up leaving the store without buying anything. Another time I went to Sports Check wanting to buy a pair of good quality running shoes. Despite trying on numerous different running shoes none of them fit my feet properly and they weren't even comfortable. When shopping at other stores, I always find good fitting shoes without too much difficulty. During my last visit at Sports Check, in the late Fall, I asked a manager about cycling pants. She said, "I show you what I have." The manager brought me over to the area where they display hiking pants. Over the years, I have found that Sports Chek usually doesn't sell what I'm looking for and/or often they don't have my size. Even when they do have my size, the clothes/shoes don't fit properly. I am an average-sized person proportionate to my body shape, height and weight. Also, I have found that staff doesn't know much about the products they are selling.

I realized this past weekend that Old Navy had Canada tanks going for $6. I decided to visit the Old Navy outlet. The tanks were okay, but I'm not a tank top person. I then found two t-shirts that I liked. One was a white t-shirt with Canada written four times in old 70's-style lettering. The first two Canada instances were white with black outlining the letters. The third row had Canada in red outlining. The last row was white letters again. It was a ringer t-shirt, with red trim. Sold! I also got a grey t-shirt with little red maple leaves all over. It is also a ringer t-shirt. Each t-shirt went for $8. The price was decent. I love summer merchandise at Old Navy. The watermelon and lemon beach bags are adorable. I also secretly want a watermelon umbrella. At the checkout. I decided to get a tube of charcoal clearing mask for your face. You basically let the mask harden and you peel it off gently. I need to give it a try and see if I can truly lift it off or if I will have a permanent Halloween mask on. The checkout was fairly long. I was there for seven minutes waiting in line. I tend to be pretty patient, especially when there is a ton of merchandise to check out. The woman helping me out at the checkout was efficient and nice. I got my goods and left. This Sport Check is HUMONGOUS! I get lost in here every time I go to this mall! It has its own…read moreentrance from the outside. Elevators from the main floor go into this store. You have to go through this store to get to the food court. But while you are doing this, snoop around a bit... You'll likely find something that suits your needs. They cover EVERYthing in here! I've shopped here before, and will likely be back. This is my favourite Sport Check of anywhere - mainly because of its size. We have purchased hockey gear at this store in the past (they sell all kinds; everything imaginable). They also have a fair sized golf section. And there's a reasonable shoe department in here. They sell women's, men's, and children's clothing. The staff is helpful, and I like the way the store is laid out. However, I'm a little uncomfortable with the fact that you enter here from outside or downstairs to get to other areas of the mall - as you reach the top of the elevator, you're facing staff behind a counter, like it's YOU that's on display! That's a bit weird to me. But the store in general is pretty good.

I found such a place at Billings Bridge Mall - Growing Kids. The clothes are really hip (a mini Sens jersey anyone???) and they have these pretty princess dresses for your little princess!!! The prices are very cool and they have sales all the time. The day I went in, everything was 25% off! It is around the corner from the LCBO and near the exit by Independent Grocery.

We found two dresses at the store that we both fell in love with and a bonus was that they had all the accessories to go with her outfit. Nice white nylons and the sales assistant, Evelyn, helped my daughter try on a variety of different shoes. The prices were very reasonable and there was no hard sell. Evelyn, really took the time to connect with my daughter and find out what we both were looking for. She took a lot of care wrapping the special dresses in clothes bags and making sure that my daughter felt very special too. We had a super girls time in this store and will definitely consider coming back when we are looking for dressy clothes on another occasion. Saw lots of nice duds for the boys here too. Decided to stop by some card collector stores in Ottawa over the weekend to see what's up!…read more This was my first stop! This is the mecca for collectors ! It's pretty spacious and holds tons and tons of wide range sports memorabilia. It was very busy in here and was pretty difficult to get some service as there was only 2 guys working. The high end hockey cards have it's own room / section in the back corner. We had to ask to find it. It was really fun and exciting like a kid in the candy store! Service was great just maybe a bit long as they were taking care of other people. However, they were really nice and kind. Prices: a bit too high .. I mean yes they gotta pay for rent and staff but still .. the cards were 10-30% more than the market value a bit hefty for me. They seem willing to negotiate if you ask them but it was still super pricey for certain things.
