From afar, these look ok. But for $60 ($75 including tip because I'm not evil) I was hoping for them to be a little nicer. The place is very sanitary. Everyone wears masks and gloves which gave me high hopes. The woman who did my nails seemed very sweet, but she skipped multiple steps when doing my nails. I called ahead and asked if I could make an appointment for 6:15, they told me that that was OK. I think they must've just been rushing since they close at seven. She didn't file out my nails so that they were smooth. Every single nail has awkward dips and bumps. She didn't dehydrate my nails at all, and there are sections on the sides of my nails that just don't have any polish or gel and actually have old blue polish from my last set. Typically with a manicure, some kind of cuticle oil or hand lotion is applied at the end, that was not the case here. They also didn't push back or trim my cuticles at all. I'm pretty disappointed with how they turned out. I made comments throughout the manicure, asking for things to be adjusted, but before I could even comment on the lumpiness and awkward shape of my nails, she had started putting gel on them. I don't think I would come here again personally. Maybe if I had come earlier in the day, it would've been ok. But if they weren't going to have time, they should've just told me that instead of rushing through the appointment. read more

I do not recommend this place. The pricing is inconsistent, and today was my final straw with them. I went in for a fill and one nail repair . At the end she charged me $71! I said "for a fill??" And she said "yes I charged you like new set" and I asked "even though you didn't do new tips..?" And she said "yes charged you like new" .. the heck?? I'd understand the cost of a gel fill plus the nail repair, but $71 is absurd. I'm so upset I went here today, was going to go to BV but tried to save time . Learned my lesson and won't be back . Be upfront about your pricing before completing the service. If she had told me "it's going to be extra" I would have just had them removed. read more

I give it 1 star to the girl that did my nails she was slightly rude, was short when speaking to me when I had a question. I went to VS nail salon this evening. The Nail Tech was very personable and friendly. I got a gel manicure in a lovely light pink shade. The salon was very neat and clean and I loved that she took new equipment out of a sterilized package. I've been to other places that use the barbicide but I prefer the brand new equipment. The only drawback was that one of the techs was using a handheld vacuum right next to me while I was getting the manicure. I would definitely come again. read more

Very friendly staff and my full set and spa pedicure was great! The salon was very clean and they got me in right away without an appointment on a Tuesday at 5:45. The spa pedicure with French tip was $30 ($25 with regular polish...all OPI). There was a Pearl Spa pedicure for $45 but its probably just a longer pedicure with more massage . Honestly I would have preferred more foot massage but they concentrated more on the calf area... that may just be personal preference but I thought worth mentioning. At first when I put my feet in, the water was a little cool but the technition immediately turned up the hot water so it was much more comfortable and I appreciated that. As you can see from the pictures my full set turned out perfectly for what I asked for... a little longer than sport length nail with squared off tips. It did not include any hand massage like a regular manicure but that's typical for a full set instead of manicure. Price was $25 for a full set $30 with French tips. They did offer pink and white as well as gel manicures which were a little higher in price. It was $60 plus I tip $12 so all altogether it was $72. This is actually a pretty good price especially for the fayetteville-manlius area and for a great salon. THEY DO REQUEST TO PAY CASH IF POSSIBLE BUT DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS. They have a sign that just says that by not having to pay a lot of credit card fees at helps them keep their prices down, which makes sense. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went here for a simple fill that should take 40 minutes. What I thought would be a quick easy fill turned into a nightmare. I asked to have my nails the same as they were now just a fill. This fill took 1.5 hours, the nail tech turned my long natural nails into short little nubs when I said I wanted them a "slight bit shorter" which was not what I got. After she butchered the length she went on to make my nails super thick and got the dip powder all over my hands. Not once did she have me go wash my hands to get the nail dust off them at any point of my visit. My nails came out these thick, upward pointing disasters. When I asked her to make them almond shaped as before she filed my already short pinkie nail short and a sharp rigid point. At this point the shop owner had to come and take over because she could not file a almond nail and he attempted to save the disaster she created. At the end I was left with nails looking like the pictures I attached. I don't know how anyone would let someone leave the shop looking this way. I will never come back here nor recommend this place to anyone. I had to go to a different nail salon and have my nails cut off and redone with fake tips now put on my once naturally long nails. Instead of comping my butchered nail job they charged me for it so now I have paid over $100 for the butchered nail job and then again another nail job to fix and completely redo my nails. Usually this nail salon is ok, I'm not sure what the lady's name is that did my nails and pedicure but right from the start she had a terrible attitude and was yanking my hands. When I pointed out that one nail was shorter than the same nail on the other hand I was yelled at and told she new and she never fixed it. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she looked at it once and did not do what I asked. I got a fill and a pedicure and was charged $94, while a lady who was getting the same thing as me was charged $80 so I'm not sure what was going on but I'm highly disappointed! read more

Well you think this place would be as nice as described in other reviews. I didn't have an appointment but got right in no problem. Asked for ombré acrylics shaped into coffin. Any shape you want is an extra 5$ charge...Fast forward to my nails actually being done. My nail tech literally tells another she's never done coffin before and says "I guess I'm learning now". My nails are so badly shaped I'd consider about 3 of my nails actually coffin shaped and the rest fairly square. why should I have to pay an extra 5$ for a shape done on 3/10 nails. Also my nails are SO thick. They stick out so far from my actual nailbed. Like at least 3 cm. And none of my nails are the same length left vs right hand. I've been getting my nails done/ doing them myself for almost 4 years and this is by far the worse I've ever seen. read more

This place gave me a nail fungal infection. I know this for a fact bc I did not have nail polish on all winter, so when I went 3 weeks ago for a manicure, my toenails were healthy. Some of the nail polish chipped off two days ago, and I noticed that my right big toe nail was yellow and the nail was weak. I'll never go to this again. Would give 0 stars if it were an option. I went in Saturday to have a gel manicure. I have been getting regular gel manicures for two years at another salon, so my cuticles were not terrible and I have NEVER had a cuticle bleed. The manicurist left the remover on for less than 5 minutes and proceeded to roughly remove the polish. When finished five of my cuticles were bleeding. To the point of two needed band aids when I got home. Also, she does not apply the polish to the cuticles, but comes short by about 1/4 of an inch. My nails appear in need of another manicure. She may do this in hopes that one will return sooner than later. That will not be the case for me. Good-bye VSNails. read more

Poor experience! The woman who did my nails was VERY rude and did a poor job on my nails. I called her attention to the fact that some of my nails were different in shape to the other ones. Instead of comparing the nails to see if she needed to make adjustments, she filed them in anger and left me with nails MUCH shorter than I wanted and still not the same length and shape. I asked her use the nail polish remover only and not the motorized tool out of concern of damage to my nail bed. That really irritated her, although it did not take long at all to get it off using the polish remover only. I will not return to this shop. read more

Went in 6 days ago to get a fill--it was done heavy and sloppy so the edges started to lift and my nails started coming off. Called and made appt to get them fixed and when I showed up, the manager made it seem like it was my fault and couldn't have possibly been because it was too thick--when I sat down, the girl told me it would be 25$. I even showed them my bank statement from 6 days earlier to prove I had been there. Again the guy told me it would be $25. My manicurist left me with a completely different shape that I wanted and when I asked her to fix it the nails were crookedly filed. I had called ahead of time to see if there would be any openings, as a friend and I had decided during the day that we would want to go. I called to get pricing on a gel mani-pedi and was quoted $50 by the man who answered. To clarify, I asked "$50 for a gel manicure and a gel pedicure together?" and he answered "yes". (side-note: I asked about shellac and he informed me shellac and gel is the same thing. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I know shellac and gel may SEEM similar, but they are completely different! I was hesitant at first to go and trust a place that doesn't seem informed) But nevertheless, I was ecstatic. He stated appointments weren't necessary, that we could just walk in. So at 6pm, we had walked in and were seating promptly next to each other for our pedicures. My bath water was extremely cold, and kindly brought it to my technician's attention. She had turned the heat up, but the bath water was almost full, so it didn't make much difference. I'm not one to be rude or complain so I just dealt with it. She made my toes look beautiful! The gel was wonderful and she was extremely particular with how they looked, which is great. When our pedicure's were completed, she asked if I had wanted to do my nails too and I said "Yes, The gel manicure and pedicure for $50." She looked at me strange and replied "No, it's $75. $50 for regular polish on nails." So I ended up not getting the manicure the same day. I am booking an appointment in a few days to go back. I just think better communication would have helped the situation. After we left, the girls were scrubbing out our foot baths which always makes me happy. I'm a cosmetologist and know all of the horrors and am always hesitant to get my toes done. All in all, a wonderful place. Quiet and peaceful. Will be going back soon. read more
