Although the rent is almost as high as most LA luxury apartments ($4,000-$5000 per unit), this place is an absolute nightmare. Most of the apartments don't have a a phone service (ZERO bars!) meaning that whether it's a family emergency or a business call - you're unreachable for the outside world. Good luck losing business due to a no service unit! If you ever wonder why everyone and their mother are on a balcony on their phones it's cause this is the only place to receive reception! Second, the location itself is a disaster, full of homeless folks and drug addicts who constantly attempt to brake into the premises! Last but not least a lot of tenants got into a lease by an affordable housing option and it shows - loud, classless, lacking morals and respect individuals having a non stop drunk party in a jacuzzi blusting music full of profanities. Husband and I had to break our lease 4 months in and couldn't feel more relieved! PS. Although we chose a top floor unit the blasting pool music used to wake us up as early as 8am! It's nice of them to have monthly community events and the staff is really friendly. My only negative take like others have stated is the gates are constantly breaking down and either don't work or are wide open which makes it a little hard considering beach Blvd isn't exactly the safest. read more

My partner and I have been living in VRV for about two months now. Rather than write a lengthy review I've decided to condense them into some major favorable points. -The staff is very friendly starting from the first point of contact (we spoke w Simon - always available and eager to help make our stay welcome) -The property is gorgeous and has a very chic resort vibe (inspired by music and art ) -There are day beds, ping pong tables, and cabanas by the pool (ginormous) with fire-pits and bbq's -Music plays on the outside speakers by the pool (like a resort!) -Neighbors seem to be friendly -I can work outside on my balcony and face the pool to get fresh air or I can work inside the business center away from any distractions - (although it does need a fax machine, computer, and printer) -The mailroom is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and not overwhelming or confusing for residents - There is a trash service that comes to your doorstep on weekdays! -Maintenance is on top of their sh*t. I've only had a couple of issues as expected from a brand new building and each time the issues were resolved within 24hrs by Jeff, the friendly bearded maintenance manager :) -Gates and elevators had technical issues at first but are all resolved now. -Also, a plus is that my side by side stainless steel fridge that came w the apt has a crushed ice option. Hooray! -The details matter here. Like keyless entry and lock! I don't ever have to worry if I locked my door or not because it will lock by itself which makes me feel more secure. -Walls are somewhat thin but the noise level is not bothersome because they do have great windows that block out the noise from outside your windows. Overall the space is worth the rent, even though it is expensive. However, It is also so beautiful that you don't want to leave the property, ever, because it's like an oasis in the middle of Stanton. The amenities make up for the price so I would highly consider them when deciding whether these apt's are within your price range. Don't usually do Yelp reviews but WOW! What a beautiful property! I feel like it's such a perfect location to everything. You have colleges, beaches, Disneyland, and so many other hotspots in less than 30 minutes drive! Me and my boyfriend had a chance to tour this place after waiting for it to open for so long! Love Stanton and this place is exactly what it needed to put it on the map. Erold gave us a tour and he was so funny and so sweet. Really made us feel welcomed. Loved his vibe! Some of the comments are outrageous considering it's a brand new community. You would not realize how bad other brand new communities have it. We moved in on October 1, 2023 and have had 3 incidents with our door thus far, with the most recent one being the most traumatic. To the residents: you better hope and pray that you/your guests aren't trying to respond to an emergency (like ours were) or that there is a fire in the building because there's a possibly you can be LOCKED IN your unit with NOBODY to reach out to. I dialed the useless security patrol number and the after hours maintenance number (numerous times before I received correspondence). We followed the prompt on the security line to call a different (855) number that directed us to a man who was not on site, and instead had to make his own calls to the manager. Mind you, the security guard was already made aware of the situation by residents that were passing by our unit that heard us banging from the inside. The only time he responded was when Jeff, the maintenance guy showed up. I understand that the security guard has his limitations on the services he's able to provide, but for someone who is ON SITE and is supposed to patrol the building, he could have responded to our cries for help rather way sooner than us scrambling through different phone numbers to contact. We definitely do not feel safe in this building. This ordeal started at 10pm and my guests were held hostage until 1:30am. Once we finally got a hold of someone, we were advised that the police/fire department would not be able to do anything (although the first time we complained about our LOOSE doorknob, management stated that our door knobs needed to be loose for fire dept purposes). We were also told that if we were to call an emergency locksmith, that the costs would be our responsibility... even though it's a SECURITY/ BUILDING malfunction. Our guests were jeopardizing their safety trying to get a hold of any neighbor that they were able to see by climbing on the balcony and asking for help. This situation also left us with no choice but to provide our pin pad code to a random neighbor walking by via ring camera in attempt to open our door from the outside. Our guests were in distress -- including an infant with no more milk, a couple trying to respond to an emergency at home in DTLA, and others experiencing panic attacks so bad that they were considering to jump from the second floor. We were advised to unscrew the screws from the locks/change the batteries, to see if that would help while maintenance was 45 miles away, but doing so did not resolve the issue and we were still stuck. I will say that after over an hour of waiting, the maintenance guy, Jeff, arrived at the scene was very patient and understanding throughout the situation. After having to break the entire system, he was able to get our guests out by 1:30am. He left our unit at 2am and stated he would submit an incident report about this and should hear from Zach, the property manager on Monday. Zach typically does reach out in a timely manner, but I'm curious to know what he has to say regarding this incident. Jeff was apologetic about the situation and agrees that this shouldn't have happened if the entire system that was initially replaced correctly (~10/26/23). And guess what?! Now one of our fobs don't work after the reset was completed LOL give us a break! (will be reporting to leasing office re: the fob after this review). Please note: the ring camera does not alter or manipulate the LOCK mechanism at all - what they've constantly blamed the door problems on. However, the leasing team was already made aware since the day we moved in (via move in check list) re: issues with our door, even before the ring camera was installed. They use the same lingo: "it's a new unit, it's shouldn't do this/that" - EXACTLY. It's a new unit and we shouldn't have this many inconveniences after living here for almost 2 months. There is no accountability whatsoever. This is a FIRE HAZARD. It makes me so sad to write this because everyone who works here (not residents) is so nice but things like this really outweigh the good. read more

I talked to Zac on 6/20, and he said the corporate will write a check and mail out to me on the following week (week starting on 6/25), and I should get the check on the week after (week starting on 7/2), today is 7/11 and I still haven't got the check. Yesterday I talked to Ruby on the phone and asked her to give me exact date the accounting department mailed out my check (if they actually did), and she said she couldn't tell which date, but the company record says "fully paid" and instructed me to give another week. I asked her another number I could reach out because corporate office number was not picking up my call, but she was unable to provide me phone numbers. She also told me that she will have her boss (Simon and Zac) send me a detailed e-mail. Will see how long it takes for that or it ever will happen. The same thing has been going on for 14 weeks since April, keep saying next week, next week. This company, Greystar is very disorganized, dishonest, and disrespectful company. Unfortunately I will have to take it to legal action. Greystar manages other nearby apartments as well (Luce in Huntington Beach, Edge in Anaheim) Please give my money back. APPLICANTS BEWARE! Absolutely horrible. Not surprised considering it's managed by Greystar. Submitted an application, screening company came back with a bunch of inaccurate information and I was denied. incorrect addresses, incorrect credit history and personal info. All of which I disputed with the screening company after being denied. That was over a month ago and supposedly they mailed my refund check out twice to the inaccurate address their screening company had on file. Now I'm fighting w the on-site manger to get my refund. Supposedly they mailed a second $500 check to my new and correct address on 9/13 and I never received it. To be honest I don't believe the first check was mailed to me let alone a second. Now I have to dispute the charge with my bank to get my refund. It's ridiculous but again with a Greystar community I'm not the least surprised. renters and applicants beware! Still never heard back from anyone. Emailed them twice. Never got my refund. It's been over a week.

Everything bad that has been said is true this place sucks new build 3k and you get broken gates and elevators, poop everywhere in the halls well atleast on the 2nd floor. Dog area filled with poop, homeless on the Northside scream yelling and what not. They tell us to not throw certain trash in the shoot but the gates in the garage to get to the trash bins never open. Place is a mess don't be fool by the nice people and quick looks. read more

I visited and toured with Zach and the rooms are just as clean and as spacious as it looks online, as well as the rest of the property. I've been living at the VRV apartment for a few months now, and it's been a likable place to call home. They've organized some cool events for us to mingle with neighbors, like bingo nights and rooftop karaoke, which have been a lot of fun. The parking is decent, but sometimes someone parks in a spot by mistake, which can be frustrating. The gates also tend to slow down the traffic, which is kind of annoying. But, my favorite amenity is the parcels mailbox. You pay a small subscription fee and you can have all your packages shipped directly to a locked kiosk. They put everything in a locker with a unique code sent to you, so you don't have to worry about missing a delivery or having a box left outside your door. The staff of course is super friendly and helpful. My Leasing Professional, Rudy, was excellent. a warm smile, kind eyes, a shy laugh. She was very patient but well knowledgeable and understanding about my previous living arrangements and even felt like she held my apartment spot for me for a little while longer. It's been pretty quiet here, too, which is a bit surprising, but yet a plus. read more

I really do want to start off by saying how much I love this community especially the staff. The thing that separates this place from my old apartments is the level of safety I have. I know that if a random delivery driver leaves my package in the mail room that I would not have to worry about it being stolen because this community is so respectful. Don't even get me mentioned on the staff, especially Erold who has helped me locate multiple packages that I always think are stolen but we end up finding. He has literally gone through surveillance footage for me when I gave him the delivery time stamp and he ends up locating it because the delivery guy put it in a random locker or something. Loud unexplainable banging noise coming from the ceiling of the top floor continues to wake up and disrupt my unit. I live on the top floor with no one above me and have been reporting loud banging noises that sounds like hammering or running for months. Management has not been able to stop it or explain it. I chose the top floor for peace and quiet and ironically have unexplainable thudding that wakes me up regularly on my days off. This noise happens throughout all hours of the day and happens randomly, sometimes it stops occurring but always eventually returns. My guests have even said it sounds like someone is running above you. You can't enjoy living somewhere that doesn't allow you peace, it absolutely sucks here when i'm woken up to this. They can't explain it yet it can go on as long as 8 hours at a time. Avoid the VRV read more

We have had an AMAZING experience with VRV and it's staff. The office is very responsive! While the apartments have some pretty cool amenities in general, I especially love the HUGE dog park! I've had nothing but a positive experience here! I've visited family here multiple times and it made me want to learn more about living here! The property is gorgeous! Looks and feels like a resort! The office staff is extremely welcoming and excited about the property. They were up front about construction still going on, and they don't have an exact date for it to be finished, but they were reassuring that it's going to be worth it! Definitely have plans to come back and see it when it's finished! Hopefully I'll be able to make the VRV my home soon enough! read more

I could not be more disappointed with my experience living here. Everything seems great when you tour the property during the day, but the reality of living here is awful. Multiple residents have had their windows busted and items stolen from them in the parking garage. There are constant issues with gates not working, fobs not working and today we have no elevator. Homeless people break into the property EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, because there isn't adequate security and they jump over the walls/gates. Construction workers cause many headaches, and are super loud at random hours. These are all the issues I've encountered in just TWO WEEKS, and I seriously regret signing a lease here. read more

It's a huge project being done is phases so there is still a portion of the property under construction which could suck ,but all the bells and whistles 100% out-shadow that. Plus I've lived on sight with my 1 year old and not once have we heard any noise from the projects still being worked on. The pool area seems like something from a darn resort . Overall I'm pretty unhappy with my decision to sign a lease here. The area is really rough and the front office hasn't done much of anything to address the trespassing that's happening on a regular basis. I don't even feel safe walking my dog at night, because druggies jump over the back wall all the time (it's just a brick wall that's around 5ft high, anyone can jump over it). I personally know of numerous thefts that happened on the premises. I'm certainly not renewing my lease and I would highly recommend living elsewhere. read more
