I can…read morehonestly say that if I have to be sent for any additional surgeries later on, I will be first going through Heywood Hospital. I honestly have never felt welcomed more by a facility by all of its staff that are helping you to get better. My journey started at Heywood Orthopedics and received nothing but top notch evaluation and care from their entire staff and that carried over to the Hospital where every individual I dealt with was a blessing to their when it was time for my surgical appointments. I was treated as a person and never as a number. The level of care as mine required overnight stays was met with staff that was vigilant and making sure I was comfortable. Everyone in that building gets down to the human level with you. Even when walking around after surgery the facility staff either sweeping/mopping/cleaning even offering to say hello and how are you makes a difference. My experience here is a definite testament that you do not have to go all the way to Boston or even Wor ester to receive adequate and thorough care. It exists here as well in North Central Massachusetts. Thank you to the entire staff for all that you did to help me and to all the help you give others.

In their defense, I was experiencing an autoimmune illness at the time and that might have masked the CKC's existence. But, I wish someone had said something when it would have been possible to make a difference, even though there is no cure. Dr Arcand was through and helpful. That gives me hope I can control this illness enough to live a few more years I've been a patient here for many years and hope for many years more.

Also there were big signs everywhere saying nobody could enter except the patient. Guess what. They let in anybody and everybody Not one person had a mask. Disgusting. I guess because from what I see and hear around town, nobody thinks they need a mask or vaccinations. Who runs this "most beautiful" hospital? Because of this suppourt it ALSO helpded me get back on track to find out how to get me back in these schools cause all of the schools hated my IEP and they kicked me out and also wanted me to go to Gardner High School And Lienruburg High School Area since they where better with IEPS but now that i have someone to help i was hoping to get back on track as soon as i can... And our IEP will be set up on the website singed for our IEP card connected to the address of where we live.. But i cannot give that out only on this review! Bill Chapman is the most compassionate, intelligent hard working professional I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He took amazing care of my son when he was recovering from brain surgery because of a cancerous tumor. He also took care of my husband when he ruptured his Achilles. Now, it was my turn with an arthritic knee. I have learned more about my body and what it is capable of from Bills educational physical therapy sessions. He doesn't just pop you on a machine and watch from afar or give you a quick routine that you could whip through on your own. The exercises, stretches, massages and progressive strengthening doesn't ever go without explanation, education and encouragement. He works tirelessly on your mind, body and spirit! It goes above and beyond what is probably expected and required of him. You always feel like the most important person in the room. I know I am getting much more than the BEST possible therapy. I tell everyone I know to go there and request Bill and no one is ever disappointed. I look forward to my visits and make sure I keep my end up at home with his plan for me. I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my progress that we have BOTH worked so diligently on. I am just as committed as Bill is to my recovery. Once I filled out paperwork, I was immediately brought into the emergency area, where I met the nurses, and soon after that the P.A. on call that evening, all of whom were referred to on a first-name basis (who does that in a hospital emergency room?). Let me just say it was a bit surreal - but in the best way possible - that I immediately felt at home, and at ease, even though I was going through an episode. I still get choked up thinking about the amazing, caring experience I had there. When I left, I literally gave hugs to the two nurses and P.A. that tended to me (Molly, Chris and Josh - you all freakin' rock, man), and I felt like I had made friends for life in a little over 3 hours (and next time I'm up your way I'm gonna take you all out to dinner to show my gratitude!) After getting through all of this, it gives me hope that there are still good, kind, caring people out there in this world, and that healthcare *can* be a good experience when people love their jobs and where they work. Emerson flagged my review from years ago so I'm rewriting to clarify that I've been there, several…read moretimes. We live in town and I've had to visit multiple departments, including the ER for both myself and taking my parents. In the 10 years or so since I first left the review, I can honestly stay I stand by my original assessment. If you, literally, don't think you'll survive the drive to Lahey or Mass General then certainly go here. Otherwise, do whatever you can to get to a better hospital. Aside from my own 1-star experiences, I've heard multiple stories of similar experiences of close friends and immediate family getting grossly misdiagnosed by Emerson. Most recently they sent a friend home after a CAT scan with a "concussion" which, fortunately, the Lahey Clinic almost immediately discovered were severe brain lesions. My father was in a car accident where Emerson missed a broken back and concussion - again, fortunately, caught days later by another hospital. It's unfortunate as we live about 2.3 miles away but between our experiences and local paramedics recommending other hospitals, it's simply not worth stopping unless absolutely critical. (Side note: Yelp's, "Not Recommended" reviews for Emerson are worth a read.)

My regular care providers were booked up until the end of time, so when one of the NPs at one office suggested that I go to Urgent Care, I made an on-line appointment at Cooley-Dickinson hospital and was booked into a 5PM appointment that same day. I attended the appointment, had to wait only a few minutes to be seen, an attendant came to measure my vital signs (heart still beating, lungs still breathing, etc.) and the attending NP came in, looked at the arm and said "tinea", sent a prescription to my pharmacist, and I was on my way. Excellent experience, professional competency all around, full marks! I highly recommend C-D Health Care.
