This shop is recommended by NOLA famous High Priest Robi Gilmore as authentic. They have tons of herbs and ingredients to practice vodou (which is the actual way to spell and say it if you're talking Haitian Creole, like voh-doo). They have alters and figurines. Candles and protective charms. There are educational explanations pinned up around the shop for many of the items on display so you can learn about the practice while perusing. They also have voodoo dolls, which Robi has mentioned are NOT an authentic part of the religion. While the shop has a lot of interesting inventory, it was super crowded in here and very touristy, so you really couldn't enjoy the wares or talk to the employees (who I'm told are knowledgeable and interesting, but alas I'll never know for myself). I scheduled a reading with Raven, as I had heard good things about her abilities. When I got there they had given my appointment to someone else who just walked in. The dude who did my reading was awful. He had a very Cavalier attitude & my 30 minute reading was done in 15 minutes and it was about as generic as one can get, going through struggles, mommy issues (not even close) and basically nothing remotely personal in the reading. This shop was very interesting and informative. We stayed for close to an hour just ot look at everything and read descriptions since we aren't knowledgeable about Voodoo. While the shop was less busy, the women working there were very open to answering questions and giving further details on items in the shop and Voodoo. We were lucky when we arrived that there were only 3 other customers inside, but 15 minutes in there were about 30 of us walking through the store so it can get a bit snug. read more

There are plenty of shops in New Orleans with "voodoo" in the title. Some are very kitschy and touristy and some appear to be more legitimate. We popped into several on our trip and this store seemed closer to the latter. They had more herbs, ingredients and accoutrements than other stores. One patron was there for her session with a priestess (although I don't know what that entails or whether it was "authentic" or not. We didn't purchase anything but did peruse many items out of curiosity. I'll leave it to the natives to judge the legitimacy of this place. read more

(I went on a New Orleans voodoo tour with high voodoo priest Robi who confirmed this was the only authentic voodoo shop.) One of the employees was helping another patron locate items on a shopping list sent by his wife, and I was very impressed with how knowledgeable and helpful she was. It was typical overcrowded tourist spot. Some guy giving a dissertation to one guest that clogged the flow of traffic thru the tiny shop. This was a cool store!! Our walking tour guide told us about it and how they are the real deal and sell interesting stuff like a love potion perfume, so we decided to visit the next day! It was super cool to visit! They have signs you can read about what each item is and I think altars for other things that people leave stuff for! I also saw the store on YouTube and TikTok and it was worth a visit! They have a lot of stuff their to choose from and I think they also do readings. The two lady's working were super nice too. My friend and I were interested in getting a tarot card reading while visiting New Orleans. This shop was recommended to us by our Voodoo/Ghost tour guide. The shop sells a lot of different items/trinkets with something to appeal to everyone. Unfortunately, my friend and I were tight on time due to a nearby dinner reservation. The shop graciously accommodated us by having two staff members read us individually, at the same time. This was my first ever tarot reading. I've been to a few psychic mediums before but was always intrigued with the practice of tarot. Raven delivered beyond my expectations. She was spot on with everything. She possesses psychic/medium abilities too which came into play during our reading. She both made me laugh and gave me the chills several times. I loved her straight forward delivery. She is very talented. I would absolutely go back to her when I visit the area again. Highly recommend this shop and Raven. I was a little disappointed that I had to wait. It was a 30 minute reading and it was halfway thru when it was my turn. I figured they would make up the lost 15 minutes. The reading was good but we were rushed (15 minutes later they said next person was waiting) that I feel like she wanted to tell me more but we were cut short. I really wish I had the full 30 minutes because I really wanted to hear all she wanted to tell me and I had paid for a 30 minute reading. Everything about this place was magical. I didn't get a reading but was helped by the most gentle, kind person ever. I didn't get her name, but I assume she was the owner. They had an amazing selection- wide variety of items. But for me, it was the energy of the space that spoke loudest. I was so cozy and comfortable here immediately, and felt so at home. I visited this shop when I was in New Orleans recently. I usually go to New Orleans about once a year but this was my first time visiting this shop. I enjoyed looking at all the various items for sale. I was interested in a reading and signed up for one that day. My reading was with Raven. She was amazing. She brought up things I do not readily share with anyone about my family and growing up. My mother passed away about 9 months ago and Raven was aware of this and so many other details. The reading made me smile, laugh and brought me to tears. I enjoyed it so much that when it was over I asked Raven if I could give her a hug, which she agreed to. This voodoo shop is in the French Qtrs. I'm so glad I found it and did not have to pay for admission at another Voodoo Museum. You can make an appointment ahead to have your tarot cards read or psychic reading or Voodoo Unhexing. I bought an unhexing kit for $10 to give to a friend. There Aren't any Voodoo practicers in Seattle. I only also Psychic Readers and Healers. They have examples of different Voodoo Altars. A Giant Voodoo Doll for a drawing display was even at Harrah's Casino. The fictional stories and movies on Voodoo are all about negative Witch Drs. who stick pins in dolls. Real Voodoo is the opposite. It's used to bless a house, the park, new shop, etc. You have to look at the You Tube videos of the Healers. I did not know much about Voodoo before going to Nola. But I learnt a lot on the Ghost and Vampire tour at the French Tour. read more

Became eagar to see what they'll have in store now, that I thought I could settle on one thing but I spun back for more. Yet when my package arrived something out my order was missing and I was infuriated to say the least maybe more than I would have reacted normally adding with other heavier problematic things, or whatever. I written my issue about this and left it be, didn't expect that Mambo Cate would reply to me that soon after. She relieved my worry about a something else I assumed wrong and compensated the item being missing from the package with a refund , that I requested . I appreciate her getting back to me sooner! Best of all the voodoo shops in New Orleans! I had been here 12 years ago and was happy to see it has not changed. I love to come here to look at the Haitian beaded flags as well as all their other authentic items and shrines. You can really feel the energy here. I was looking to buy gifts for my (voodoo) dolls and though it wouldn't be an expensive purchase, the woman working tried to be very helpful. It was appreciated. It isn't 'all about the money' as is the case with the two other nearby shops. Had I planned better, I would have done a tarot reading, but they were fully booked. Next trip! I ended up buying two tea-lite candles for "prosperity" as gifts for my dolls. I know many do not believe. Yesterday, a week after my purchase and return home, I received an email informing me of a $540 check being sent - from an auction I had consigned a small item to a year ago! Had a wonderful experience at the store. There was a very popular and well known place I went to but that seemed more like a place you go for souvenirs. This store however felt very authentic and filled with energy. The back of the store had items for sale but also alters for the lwa.
