This shop was very interesting and informative. We stayed for close to an hour just ot look at everything and read descriptions since we aren't knowledgeable about Voodoo. While the shop was less busy, the women working there were very open to answering questions and giving further details on items in the shop and Voodoo. We were lucky when we arrived that there were only 3 other customers inside, but 15 minutes in there were about 30 of us walking through the store so it can get a bit snug.

As one of the only authentic voodoo shops in the city, this shop is a must-see. (I went on a New Orleans voodoo tour with high voodoo priest Robi who confirmed this was the only authentic voodoo shop.) This place has everything you could ask for-- chicken feet to other protective charms. The employee was friendly and helpful. The inside vibe is immaculate. You must visit this place during your next New Orleans visit!

I can't speak to the authenticity but as a tourist -- I had a lot of fun in the store -- exploring the different potions, reading the explanations and some of the history- overheard the person speaking about the misconceptions of voo doo and its origins Got myself some things and gifts for my really evangelical Christian' friends I'm not sure how they will react to a mini voo doo doll or potions they'll be scared for sure I can't wait to bring my girl here

This was a cool store!! Our walking tour guide told us about it and how they are the real deal and sell interesting stuff like a love potion perfume, so we decided to visit the next day! It was super cool to visit! They have signs you can read about what each item is and I think altars for other things that people leave stuff for! I also saw the store on YouTube and TikTok and it was worth a visit! They have a lot of stuff their to choose from and I think they also do readings. The two lady's working were super nice too. It feels like the real deal there too!! We went to a different voodoo store after and the energy felt super different than this one. I'd recommend this store to those that are interested!!!

    Thank you so much ‍

Everything about this place was magical. I didn't get a reading but was helped by the most gentle, kind person ever. I didn't get her name, but I assume she was the owner. They had an amazing selection- wide variety of items. But for me, it was the energy of the space that spoke loudest. I was so cozy and comfortable here immediately, and felt so at home. I'm not a beginner at all, but I could see this space being a good place for many young spiritualists looking for something to elevate their practice. I was met with the kind of support you'd find from a friend, and that meant the absolute world to me. I will definitely be back to visit next time I'm in NOLA

Great shop! There was so much in there! This is a great shop if you are looking to learn about voodoo, or if you want to practice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The items were also priced decently. There is even a website.

Artists have their own booth, so you can view the transition in genre as you walk from one booth to the next. The majority of the jewelry is located centrally, in front of the counter, where they are less likely to walk away without being noticed. My favorites were the mixed media scenes and whimsical cat paintings by G. Lee, whose artwork I noticed in other parts of the city. Adorable cats looking straight at you, holding a beloved item in their paws. As I was visiting, there was an artist setting up shelves to present his artwork. He had someone assisting. The artwork is also sold at affordable prices. The woman at the counter was friendly and welcoming.

We visited during his cow phase and many of his canvases were of cows. He is renowned for his paintings of regional architecture and famous musicians and for designing numerous NOLA Jazz Fest posters and artwork. Many of his architectural pieces seem to defy gravity, as he departs from traditional renderings by painting the structures in arches for example. He utilizes exaggerated viewpoints and skewed perspectives so beautifully! His approach is whimsical, fun, and very engaging! For his paintings, he uses palette knives primarily, and this method results in such a dense, tactile quality to the paint, it is almost as if the paint is ice cream-like, and the viewer could just take a spoon to get the paint off the canvas and take a bite! This is my favorite approach to painting, and it takes quite the commitment by the artist to achieve this result! This lovely, accurate description from his bio sums it up: "His portraits of shotgun houses and Creole cottages, captured in layer upon layer of thick impasto paint, brimmed with color and energy and captured the essence of his subject." Quite the visionary and entrepreneur, Michalopoulos owns a house in the Burgundy region, started and stewards a foundation devoted to providing affordable spaces in NOLA in which artists can create, and live. In the 90s he opened a rum distillery, Celebration Distillation, the first craft rum distillery in the nation in over a century. Celebration features the "Old Orleans" label, and sadly, it suffered a fire, and is closed until further notice. Amazingly, he is primarily self-taught artistically, although he took a couple of art classes in NOLA. This gallery is spacious, it's 3 stories, and not pretentious at all. The staff are friendly, and you may engage with the art as long as you would like during their business hours.
