Honestly I'm not mad at the deli food here - I came after a long day in sequoia national park, and the $9 meal deal (1 entree and 2 sides) hit RIGHT. Nice to have a cheaper meal option for something kind of home cooked (I had baked chicken and some pasta and salad). They were actually closed when I arrived around 8p but the person packing up the food went ahead and served me anyway. Their deli is very good. All items are fresh and good selection. The manager is visible and walking among the shoppers. Customer service seems to the main concern here. since we were in the area, we needed some liquor for the party. I am like where, sicne we both never been to Vons, lets check it out. We went to the fresh fruit section first, we spotted the limes and we were like lets get some sicne we need it for our drinks. We then went on to find the bottles we need. We got one bottle of jameson and one bottle of hendricks. The jameson was gone first in the party. Then Hendricks was next. I had handricks all night long with tonic water. i was not buzzed because we ate too much food all day long. it was a clean grocery shop, everything was organized too. I was having a pretty rough long 14 hour work day. Came to vons to grab groceries for dinner. My tuned changed when I was witnessing a few store employees smiling and explaining products, helping customers with a smile. And the gentleman at the register.. there was a huge line and with every customer he was polite, patient, and you can see the smile behind his mask. It was really pleasant to walk in and out of a positive atmosphere. I did call the manager and told them my experience. My boyfriend and I love this place for the deli. They have meal deals where you can get a sandwich, a soda, and a bag of chips for $8. You have to have your number in the system though. The sandwiches are clean fresh ingredients and the pickles are so good. However, if you don't drink soda your drink options are limited to only cole products. I still definitely recommend. read more

Don't normally shop at Vons but since moving close to the area it's been very convenient. The few times I've stopped by this places has been stocked and organized well. I love the fact that there's so many options, different brands and a variety of everything you don't normally see at other grocery stores. Moved here two years ago, was initially pleased with this location. However, they are having some current issues. There are zeros carts available, I've nicely complained I've heard others complain as well. They claim that people steal them, however removing them is ridiculous. They even hide the hand baskets. I like shopping at Vons; they have some good weekly deals and some specials on Fridays. Their white sweet corn that they had on sale this week was 4 for $1.00. Some of them tasted weird and beyond GMO, especially the one with the small corn kernels at the end of the cobb. I'm not sure these are from Brentwood, CA, because I haven't tasted this bad white corn ever before. Brentwood Diamonds is well known for their sweet taste and excellent quality of corn. read more

OLD SEAFOOD ON THE SHELVES!!!!!! PLEASE READ!! I want to start this off by saying that I have had no previous issues with Vons. But however this time was different. In short version, THEY ARE SELLING OLD FOOD!!!!!! I wish I was making this up or even just realized sooner but here's my situation. So I ordered groceries on January 22, 2024 from DoorDash (receipt provided in photo) and I ordered 2 packages of the simply surimi imitation crab sticks. Now today, February 6, 2024, I go to open the packages for the FIRST time already expecting them to be old and probably need to be thrown away since it's been over a week since purchasing but I see the date on both of them and honestly I'm even more shocked bc I started to realize just how OLD they really were BEFORE I even bought them....... ONE OF THEM EXPIRED IN MID DECEMBER OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR....Dec. 16, 2023 to be exact ....The other one was more recent and had expired on January 20 but that still doesn't explain how it was already expired before I bought it on January 22!!!! This means they have OLD products on the shelves. And for this to be SEAFOOD of all things. Keep in mind they are both still unopened. I attached a picture of both packages with the date on the sides of them for proof. I cannot imagine what could've happened if I didn't notice and went about eating MONTHS OLD FOOD. THIS IS DISGUSTING !!!!!! Now I'm not gonna blame the DoorDasher because they for sure aren't looking at the dates when grabbing the items which is totally fine but I will blame the workers who are leaving these products on the shelves. And it's crazy that this isn't even a SELL BY date. We are talking about the USE BY date which means you need to eat it by that date shown. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE SHELVES!!!! Call me crazy but I feel like is the type of mistake that warrants lawsuits or something because this HAS to be illegal. Im really not the type to leave reviews because usually I couldn't care less but this is actually so dangerous and most definitely needs to be addressed. Even though it's more pricey than other places, it is very clean and neat compare to other places. Love how they organize the fruits and vegetables in such a well manner where we can just grab and go. The price is decent depending on the days you come. Sometimes, it's cheaper than most days. Mostly on Wednesday is when they have the sale on their meat, I believe. Love the organic aisle of the fruits and veggies. Coming here makes me want to come food shopping all the time! The customer service provided here is excellent. They welcome/greet you, bag your things for you and put it in the cart, and always very courtesy of their customers. This location is probably my all-time favorite Vons! I feel like the staff there especially the cashiers Pay close attention to their customers. Anytime I walk in I'm greeted with a "hi melody" or "its great to see you again" and that little personal touch makes me feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside. The store is always clean and nothing ever seems to be out of place and if it is you'll always see an associate right by fixing it. They let me know about coupons and sales at the register if I forgotten and they always ask if you need help out. I know Vons is a little bit more expensive than the food Maxx and Walmart down the street but I find the quality of their products and their customer service well worth the extra pennies. Saved our Christmas! So, a bit of a story here as I cannot fully express how much they helped us without it. My brother and I came to visit our mom, sister, and step father a couple days ago and randomly a step brother I haven't seen in almost 12 years showed up yesterday and another step brother I've seen once in the same amount of time called today to say he was going to arrive tomorrow. My mother has been really sick for the past week or so and unable to do any Christmas shopping. We have spent the past two days frantically preparing for the biggest Christmas we've had in probably about 18 years. And my poor mother's nerves have been feeling the pressure. So after driving all the way in from way up in the mountains in Squaw Valley (about an hour and forty five minutes away) and rushing from store to store we tried to find one still open so we could buy what we needed for Christmas dinner and my mom began having a break down that she wouldn't be able to. I called the phone number for this Vons and got a recording that said to press one for holiday hours which then stated that they were open and would be until 9pm. Arriving shortly after calling we discovered they were just closing. Full on break down for mom now. She asked to speak to the manager and this amazing guy said that there was no way that he was going to let our Christmas be ruined and let us in to quickly grab what we needed. The entire staff was super friendly and helped us at every turn with every thing. And the manager even gave us a little Christmas tree at the end. My mom was crying tears of joy, relief, and gratitude as we left. These amazing people truly saved Christmas for our family this year and we are so extremely grateful to them all, especially the amazingly kind manager, whose name I wish we could remember. (The emotions were just so overwhelming it slipped our mind unfortunately.) Thank you all so much! You're our Christmas miracle! I highly recommend this store and it's wonderful staff. I've always prefered Vons over any other grocer regardless of the price difference or distance. Although their customer service isn't what it used to be (worked for them as a Supervisor/Trainer for three years, so I know what to look for), I'm a very easy-going shopper & can find what I need w/o any help. I've never had an issue whatsoever aside from the in-store Starbucks, but I can always go across the street from there. Those complaining about the wait times & the lack of registers open must not know how stores are ran. Early mornings & evenings after nine are when they have the least amount of staff on hand. Superior customer service demonstrated to me yesterday by Manager Michelle and her very conscientious staff. A snafu resulted in both my deli order not being placed, as well as the writing on the cake I ordered not being right, both were for a large event hosted by my company.. I found out 4.5 hours before the event was to begin. The staff not only got it done in time, and did it correctly, but they delivered it right to our buffet table! They more than made up for the stress I experienced. On top of it all, the food was great. I ordered mini croissant sandwiches and an arugula salad with apples, cheese and walnuts, and they were the first items to disappear from our table. It's amazing to me and quite frankly disheartening that this Vons has so many negative reviews. I have had nothing but positive experiences at this once. It's always clean, and the customer service is always on point. However I do understand that reviews are subjective so to each their own. Over the years I have become a regular at Vons when I was growing up we would frequent the store and as I grew up moved away and came back home to Fresno this Vons location was my go to grocery store. At one time in the past it was understandable that people with experience long line in this location. But as the years have progress they've hired more staff and it's not too often that you actually experience long lines. Frankly if you go to any of the surrounding grocery stores in Eastside Fresno you're more than likely going to experience far longer lines there then you will at Vons. My only complaint is that some of the groceries a little bit more on the expensive side. However, I'd much prefer to pay a little bit more in cost for my food and experience a non-stressful very clean shopping environment than to go to other grocery store with corroded shopping basket dirty floors and people willing to run you over at every turn of the aisle. I also adore their fresh produce fruits and vegetables. If you like organic food they've got it if you don't care whether or not your fruits and vegetables or are organic then they have regular produce as well. again it's a little bit more on the expensive side but you are really paying for quality when you buy produce from Vons. I'd also like to note that I do like the bakery their are certain things that I will buy like the French bread and their bagets, bagels and croissants. Likely all the breads and their brownie cookies but I don't like any of their other cookies outside of their brownie cookies because a little bit too sweet. The deli is pretty solid too. My final thoughts on this phone's location are to not let negative reviews this necessarily dissuade you from shopping at this location. Again reviews are very subjective but as a person that has been coming to this location for years I can say that it's usually a pliant shopping experience. You encounter anything less give it another try because it's probably an anomaly or someone new.
