Needed dental work immediately because I was in pain. The office accommodated me and squeezed me in for dental work. I had a hole in my tooth that was collecting food and pretty much infected my tooth. Instead of pulling my tooth out because I needed a root canal, Dr. Chan tried to save my tooth as much as she could. Staff are friendly, office ambiance is almost like a spa. Was provided headphones to watch a movie while I was being worked on, lighting panel was a sky, and was provided a blanket because I was cold. I walked out feeling so much better and like a whole new person. I highly recommend this office!! read more

I was long overdue finding a dentist here in Petaluma, and I was lucky enough to find Dr. Lin. He was able to clearly show me with photographs and x-rays where I had tooth decay and required fillings, so there was no doubt in my mind I was getting necessary work done. The fillings themselves were very painless and one of the first times I did not have to return to the dentist for small adjustments regarding my bite. They also provide a great savings program for private pay patients for those of us who only get Kaiser coverage through our employers. Highly recommend! read more

Up until we found Dr. Chan's office, the dentist was always a drag and most unpleasant. At the last visit in January, a recommendation was made for all 4 wisdom teeth to be extracted. Although this is a common procedure for ages 18-25, it's never something to take lightly as it is still a surgery. We waited. Today's visit, 8/3/23 was great. Our appointment was for a teeth cleaning, however, we walked in with a page of questions about wisdom teeth extraction. I'm sure a parent with a list of questions is any doctors dread. Our tech, Sean took some pictures and brought them up on screen and walked us through each area, fielded follow up questions and made sure each question on my list was answered to my satisfaction. Dr. Lin came in, meticulously reviewed what we had going on, also took time to explain what he saw and confirmed my assumption that recommendation to extract was premature, and we'd monitor at next appointment. Questions were answered to my satisfaction and truthfully. Dr. Chan stopped by also to make sure all questions were answered. (I think she remembers us as the question family lol). Long story short, in this day and age, it is important to advocate for your health and health of your loved ones. Dr. Chan's office has earned my trust with her friendly, knowledgable, hilarious and honest staff. I will always arrive with a list of questions and know that I will be respected for doing so and they will be answered truthfully and without a rush to get us out the door for the next person. Dr. Chan and her staff are amazing. I'm one of those dreaded nervous patients. From the moment i walked in the door, the team greeted me with kindness. They explained the whole process of what would happen, and assured me that there was no shame in taking every measure to ensure i was calm. I was prescribed Valium to take prior to my arrival to ease my anxiety, given nitrous during the procedure, and they even turn off the lights and let you watch Netflix with headphones on to avoid most of the dental sounds (or at least alleviate them). They were incredibly gentle, responded immediately if i said i felt anything, and boy does she know how to painlessly administer the Novocain shots! I used to be afraid of the dentist, but with this practice, i don't feel like i need to be anymore. I will be telling lol my friends about them. read more

WOW! From the moment I stepped into the office I immediately felt as if I had stumbled upon the future of doctors' offices. The ambiance of the waiting room was warm and inviting, beverages in a fridge and quant snacks on the table, made for a most comfortable wait, for a NORMALLY, most uncomfortable necessary requirement. Just as I was enjoying my surroundings, I heard my name. Could have relaxed for a few more minutes, but it was 2pm on the nose. I was welcomed and given a brief tour, as I was a new patient! Their state-of-the-art technology surpassed my expectations, as well as the array of services offered. The actual consultation was above and beyond. Thorough is an understatement. Knowledge and Communication, unmatched. Transparency with Respect, check! Without going into detail about my personal dental issues, I have never felt so comfortable fully exposing my most self-conscious feature. So, what about the price you ask.....VERY reasonable, they have a membership plan to provide you with discounts and other perks.(just ask, if they don't already offer) I was given a plan with every procedure itemized by description, individually priced and divided into a practical timeline. I have been prolonging the dentist for far too long, but thankfully for Dr. Chan and the team, I am optimistic and dare I say, excited about future appointments. Dr. Chan is the best dentist I have ever been to. She is so kind and sweet and does a great job describing the process. She is super patient and will answer all your questions while also explaining what she is doing. There is no dental shame in her game so if youve been skipping out on the dentist this is your time to get your teeth checked out. There are also tvs in the dental rooms and theyll keep you entertained while they are working on you. All of the dental assistant are also so great and sweet, really make me feel at ease cause I always get so nervous at the start of my appointment. After 25 years with the same dentist I switched to Von Chan in January of 2020 on the advice of a friend. My insurance had switched from Delta to MetLife and Von Chan was an "in network" provider. This meant that my cleaning (also in June), exam and xrays were completely covered and there was no out of pocket cost. The offices are clean and the employees extremely friendly. However, I recently (January 2021) went for a cleaning and exam. After my appointment I was talking to the receptionist about how I was so glad that they took my insurance as it is hard to find a provider that takes MetLife. She informed me they were no longer "in network". This information should have been given to me BEFORE the work was done. Because of this I am now facing a $255 bill. Insurance only paid $57. This is NOT good customer service. read more

The technology Dr. Chan's office has at their fingertips to see detailed views of everything going on with the teeth and gums is impressive. Unclear on the concept of patient customer service - I received a bill from their office which was several hundred dollars above what would have been covered by my insurance. I called the office to clarify the billing discrepancy, and was informed that Dr. Chan had decided to drop MetLife - go out of network. Then I was told to find another doctor who would accept MetLife. The entire reason I switched to MetLife in the first place was to go to Dr. Chan... I did not receive any notification that this was going to occur nor, were we informed when my wife came in for work. I am very disappointed how they treated my family after going there for many years... This is an unacceptable business practice, and I will never return. read more
