Oh, the rapture! Having Cheryl clean my teeth was like going to a day spa, but getting all of the beauty treatments on my teeth instead of my skin. Getting more serious though, Cheryl is a great dental hygienist and we get along like peas and carrots. I make stupid jokes and she's nice enough to laugh at them. Dr. Griffiths also shared with me the three year old humor he's used to and then shared one with me that made me laugh out loud. Always received great care here, the people are all friendly, and I'm happy to see that they are back able to do their work during this unfortunate pandemic. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a dentist that cares about their patients. read more

I absolutely love Hillcrest Dental! I have been a few times recently for services. I had a cleaning with Lisa, who i adore. And, two visits with Dr Leah and her Associate, Ashley. The two of them handled a temp and permanent crown for me and they are the best team. They have a way of working together that makes it relaxing (yes, relaxed at the dental office!!). There's a flow to their way of approaching the work...seamless in terms of their parts of the process. It's obvious they actually like working together. I highly recommend all of these people and am so happy to have this team available to me so close to my home. read more

I went to four major dental facilities and each wanted to charge me between 10,000 and 14, 000 thousand dollars. I am 72 yr old veteran with no insurance, so I gave up looking for a solution. I passed Hillcrest Dental at 3350 Novat st. asked if they could help me. They gave me an option out of price range, they had me come back two more times, and finally had a plan I could afford ( No other dental group offered me anything). Demoyne Ferris and Dr. Kasimi did three crowns, and two fillings, with no pain during the four hour process. Every time I went to the facility I was in the dental chair within five minutes upon arrival. I would have given them 5 stars for the last 10 years we have been patients but they recently stopped accepting dental insurance (from any company, according to the woman I spoke with on the phone) without notifying the patients. This means that when we took our family in for cleanings, x-rays, and then followed up for fillings the next week, we received a bill for the full amount. If it was a small amount, it wouldn't be a problem, but we're talking over $1,000 in charges that we weren't expecting because we thought they were still accepting our (or any) insurance. Such a disappointing experience and I'm bummed that we are going to have to find a new dentist. If you are cool paying out of pocket for all of your dental needs, than you will definitely be happy here. read more

I love this dental group. They are kind, modern and have a wonderful way of treating us patients. I'm grateful how they handled my jitters and will kindly answer any and all questions. They never getting irritated that I like to ask a lot of various questions. In fact, my dentist loves to talk about his work. Just returned from an emergency appointment with Dr. Leah who came in early, assessed my situation, explained things in a thoughtful and clear fashion, then proceded to save my tooth! After moving to Petaluma two years ago, and navigating through the challenge of finding new dental and healthcare professionals, I'm happy to say that my experiences at Hillcrest Dental have been consistently first rate. Dr. Leah is thoughtful, professional, non-assuming and patient. She radiates and inspires confidence. She works really well together with her excellent assistant, Autumn. This dental group is so popular that I had to wait three months for my initial visit (cleaning, x-rays, and assessment). After my first appointment I understood why they are in such demand: excellence in every area! Everyone--Dr. Leah, the hygienist, and the people behind the front desk are all top-notch professionals. They do things right, are efficient and competent, and are friendly to boot! After the hygienist had a no-nonsense talk with me about the importance of flossing, I have finally made it a priority. Dr. Leah took the time to explain exactly what her treatment plan was in detail, and has a wonderful chairside manner. I had a toothache on New year's Eve and called the office but Dr. Leah was unavailable. However, Dr. Griffith called me right back and even had my chart right in front of him which he accessed remotely! He was reassuring and offered to see me as soon as the office opened after the holiday even though I didn't have an appointment. With his gentle manner he put my mind to rest, gave me advice, and was really personable even though I hadn't met him yet. Overall I was very impressed with everything Hillcrest Dental did and would definitely recommend them to my friends. read more

If I could give 25 stars, I would. I had a trauma to my mouth and needed immediate care. It was after hours but this office found an opening for me first thing. But that is not the best part. The best part is how kind, compassionate and attentive the office staff are. And how approachable, real, present and kind Janelle the dental assistant was. AND THEN, as if that wasn't enough, Dr. Griffith did an above and beyond job. He was honest and real with me, then he reached out to a colleague, sought out advice and then proceeded to completely handle all of my worries. As I was getting worked on I listened to what a team Janelle and Dr. Griffith were...and it spoke volumes. This staff knows their stuff AND they are really respectful to me and to each other. Dr Austin Griffith is an amazing dentist. From the outset the staff at Hillcrest dental were friendly, relaxed and inviting. This was especially unexpected since I was half an hour late for my appointment! Dr Griffith made my visits not only utterly without pain but also without judgment. Not bad considering it had been many years since my last dental visit, and saying I'm an "intermittent" flosser is being generous. The thing that set this visit apart was the enthusiasm Dr Griffith has for his practice. He took the time to explain everything that he was doing step by step, talking all fear out of the visit. From pre visit screening call to temp check at door to their top notch procedures to protect patients and staff, they have this dialed in. After 20+ years as healthcare executives I know what good infection control procedures look like, and they are using best practices to the max. I absolutely LOVED my first appointment with the Hillcrest Dental Group! My first time to a dentist anywhere outside India (that's where I am from), first time getting x-rays done, I was kind of nervous. Everyone was just super nice, very friendly and helpful, the doctors answered all my questions and clarifications. I feel so thankful to have found them, thanks to Delta Dental for recommending them! I had Dr Griffith who was simply wonderful and Dr Cheryl today. The others in the team who helped me today, Daniel, Robin, Lori and Ashley were great too. Dr. Griffith is a passionate dentist who really cares about his work. I am very health conscious and did some research, but still had all kinds of questions. We had great conversation and I learned a lot that will stick with me for life. Dr. Griffith is also very health conscious, and has lots of great tips for preventative care. He took great care after filling my cavities to ensure that my bite was perfect. He was very thorough and transparent with what he was doing. His assistant was caring and personable as well. I have been a patient at Hillcrest since the age of four. Now that I am an adult, I've had many experiences throughout the years that made me question the motives of Hillcrest Dental. To begin, as a kid I always had uncomfortable experiences with the staff - they once attempted to "calm" me by incessantly singing Christmas songs to me (I am Jewish) and even told me a homophobic story upon the presence of a rainbow outside. These traumatizing experiences (for a child who wasn't afraid of the dentist to begin with) wouldn't be the last. I am of short stature and several hygienists made comments regarding my size when I was an already insecure teen (they also thought I was a middle school student when in reality I had just graduated high school). Although these comments were hurtful at the time, it's just the result of unprofessional bedside manners. When it came time to look for orthodontists, they recommended Dr. Woo & DeBerardinis - conveniently leaving out the fact that Dr. Leah's husband is one of the orthodontists. Their shady referral business occurred once again when they claimed I had gums that were receding at an alarming rate. They claimed I would need gum grafting and the lasering of a frenum. This news was quite shocking considering the fact that I am very young and have no experiences with gum sensitivity or pain. I also have photographs of my gums from 4 years ago that show the same amount of recession as they have today... Surprisingly, they told my brother the exact same thing several months later and referred both of us to an overpriced oral surgeon who felt we needed thousands of dollars worth of dental work (keep in mind we are both under 21 and have never had dental issues - let alone a cavity - in the past). We both got second opinions and were told that those costly procedures would be completely unnecessary. It appears that Hillcrest is trying to make a quick buck off of their naïve customers. I definitely would not recommend sending young children here, nor would I recommend following through with the specialists that they may refer you to. If you don't mind the occasionally offensive staff and the horribly designed parking lot, then Hillcrest Dental might just be the place for you. read more

For several years me and my son traveled to Ross, CA to see Dr. Little and adored him. But the travel was wearing so we very reluctantly looked for a new dentist closer to our home in Bodega Bay. My husband (new at the time ; ) encouraged me to see Dr. Leah DeBeradinis. That was several years ago and we couldn't be happier. Dr. Leah and staff have always treated us with care, concern, professionalism and humor. My son is covered by Brite Now dental through his dad (beware) but I choose to pay out of pocket for both of us because we want the best care possible. I have a lot of dental/orthodontic challenges and Dr. Leah has served as my 'general contractor'. The staff is amazing.They are consistently upbeat, professional, good natured and caring. My parents (Ky & Nuoi Lieu) have been going here for as long as I can remember, and now my sister and I am. It's actually quite a drive for me since I no longer live in Petaluma, but I don't want to change my dental group because of my great experience here. I always choose to make the trip home when I need an appointment. It has always been a pleasure to visit Hillcrest. The front desk staff is always super nice, some may even remember what I looked like when I was younger haha. Scheduling is always a breeze and they are always so accommodating and efficient when it comes to rescheduling or following up. If you don't get a date you want, don't worry, there's a wait list and the front desk is great at following up with that too. Even though the dentist can be an uncomfortable visit for me, they always do their best to make the experience as smooth as it can possibly be. Dr. Rose took wonderful care of me during my emergency. She referred me to a specialist to make sure I got the best care possible for my infection and I came back to her for my crown. She thoroughly discussed all my options, explained each step of the procedure as she went and seemed to genuinely care about my dental experience. She is a warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable dentist. My entire experience was painless, and I did not even have to take any pain medication afterwards. I will be coming back! I live in Santa Rosa, but it is so worth the drive to Hillcrest to have Austin Griffith as my dentist! He is by far the best dentist I have ever had. Prior to going to Hillcrest, I had always been slightly fearful of going to the dentist. But now that I have found this wonderful dentist, going to get my teeth worked on is no longer stressful. Dr. Griffith is very gentle, and takes his time to ensure his patient's comfort. It is obvious that he cares about his patients. He is pretty funny too, and very handsome! Dr Griffith is a A++ Dentist. On one visit Dr Griffith took extra time to make sure my crown was correctly re- cemented on my tooth. On another visit Dr Griffith filled 3 cavities. I found his advice on proper care for the gums and tooth enable very educational. I thought the new 21st centuy xray equipment was awesome.
