An absolute stunner of a view, great service, fun art, and delicious food - that's the recipe for a great dinner. We've been joking that Madrid is for lovers (since we have seen so many canoodling couples all over town), and this restaurant was no different - most of the tables were taken by folks gazing into each others eyes when not looking out at the view.
The pork was THE BEST pork dish I've ever had in my life - hands down (Presa Ibérica a la brasa con cebolla morada agridulce, patata tomillo y salsa de manzana con aromáticos). Simply, and artfully plated, the flavors were on point, and the meat cooked perfectly medium.
I tried a bite of the slider from the street food menu (Mc Volvoreta estilo Mex de solomillo de vaca Gallega y papada ibérica, brioche de tomate, crema de aguacate, jalapeños, cebolla morada, cilantro y totopos) and it was super delicious as well.
We had a great rioja to go with our meal, and finished up with the carrot cake (Pastel de zanahoria, maracuyá y helado de mandarina). Perfect for folks who don't like a super sweet dessert, the cake was more like a zucchini bread than a sweet, American style carrot cake. The ice cream was amazing - my favorite part. :)
We were one of the last tables to finish up (there were still two others when we left), and to have the staff start steam ironing the tablecloths around us, really shattered that five star experience, and made us feel a bit unwelcome, so I knocked one off.
Certainly a great spot for a superb, romantic or business dinner in Madrid - just don't stay too late. :) read more
