I came in because I was referred by some relatives and had been following the Cutting Team on Instagram. I came in for a haircut and a balayage. I wanted a caramel color so that it would be a subtle change. I had let the stylist know that I had dry hair that easily tangled. I loved that as soon as I got in for my appointment the stylists/owners got straight to work with bleaching and separating my hair. When I had previously gotten my hair dyed it was at home with my sister. I had the pleasure of walking around and doing whatever I wanted. During the bleaching process I started to get fidgety but I didn't say anything discouraging about the process. I was confused about why I had to sit for such a long time with the bleach because I only wanted my hair a couple shades lighter. After the bleaching process, I got my hair washed and toned. The toning process took way less time than the bleach. After my hair was done toning, the stylists proceeded to brush out my hair. I had already told them about the nature of my hair and they still decided to use a metal roller brush instead of a wet brush. Because they brushed my hair with a metal roller brush on wet hair, just brushing my hair took so long and there was a lot of breakage. I'm not tender headed but with the amount of time it took to brush my hair and with the type of brush, my head was sore. They finally finished and we moved on to the haircut. When I had walked in to my appointment, they had asked me what kind of haircut I wanted and after I said "layers" they said "okay." I wanted lots of layers but didn't feel like I could say anything after the "okay." It was almost as if they knew what I wanted. I let it slide which was my fault. Since they already knew what kind of haircut I wanted, the stylist just started cutting. When she was done she said, "there, long layers." I didn't think much of it since you can't really mess up layers. After my haircut, I got my hair blow dried and styled. Overall, it took 5 hours for the whole process and I paid $306 after tip. It wasn't until the next day that I could see all the mistakes made. My layers are pretty much nonexistent and someone said they looked "chunky." My hair was also extremely off compared to the color I wanted and what I got. It was too blonde and looked like 2007 chunky highlights. I called back 2 days later to schedule a correction. The week of the correction appointment Texas had a winter storm with power outages and water issues. I hadn't received any calls from the salon prior to the appointment about rescheduling, mind you it was 3 days after the initial winter storm. I texted the stylist about rescheduling and she said appointments were cancelled until they were back up and running. I was understanding and wished her family well. A couple more days go by and The Cutting Teams Instagram made a post about how they were open for business again and yet I hadn't received a call about rescheduling. A couple more days and still no call, I finally called and scheduled the correction. When I came in for the correction I had let the previous and new stylist know that the bottom portion of my hair seemed lighter than what I wanted. The old stylist skimmed through my hair and gave the new stylist instructions. The new stylist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She sectioned my hair so that the back of my head was the only thing that was being re-toned. After the toning I got my hair dried and thought everything looked good. When I got home I realized that now the front portion of my head was a completely different color than what was perfectly re-toned. I'm am absolutely disappointed with the customer service. I had extremely high hopes for this place because of the referrals, reviews, and posts. I was let down twice. For my initial appointment I felt as though the owners/stylists were in a rush, inattentive, and cold. I wished the stylists/owners would have noticed that my hair color didn't match what I wanted after the initial balayage session. Had they told me I needed to come back to tone down my hair I would have been perfectly fine. For the correction appointment, one of the owners/previous stylist only skimmed through my hair instead of actually double checking their work and noticing mistakes. Everything seemed so rushed. Angeles is my stylist and always has great color suggestions and makes sure that the colors make me look my best! I've had few balayage treatments so far and the rose gold/lavender has been my favorite! They are also taking lots of precautions with COVID, face masks required, wash hands as soon as you come in, constantly cleaning and sanitizing, etc.

I just got my hair dyed so she was extra careful to use products to protect the colors. I absolutely adore the tea tree contritioner and hot towel that they use at the end of the hair wash. It made my scalp feel so refreshed. - Style: I love how Marisa took her time to style my hair. I feel like I was ready to attend a wedding walking out of there. The lighting is not that great in this salon, so it was hard to tell how my color turned out. But it is dark. Darker than anything I have ever had done And the highlites? I paid for highlites, where are they ? I used their own wording to tell them what I wanted to have done, " Dimensional blonde with beach waves " I didn't get demensional highlites, I got dark hair with some highlites. But this is dark, almost red brown. Then I go to pay and the bill comes out to $400. !!!! Never in my entire life have I paid $400 for my hair. Maybe some of you pay this much, but I never have. $150 is a good average for my hair. I was so astonished, I didn't know what to say. But at home I went over this in my mind & it really bothered me. So I called & talked to the owner and told her how upset I am. She went over my costs and found that I had been charged TWICE for the haircut. And her costs have gone up, her hair color has gone up $40 so she has to charge me 3 times what it costs to color my hair. I always leave a nice tip for my hair stylist, but when all was done it ended up costing me $402.00 for this nothing special hair And I never did get my demensional highlights. The owner promised me a refund and its been two weeks and not a dime has come back to me. Not even the over charging. I finally contacted my bank to see if they could do anything. And I tried to call but I guess my phone is blocked. The bottom line is this place is dishonest. They over charge. Because her cost of hair color went up $40 she charges you 3 times that much.
