I specifically requested that the length be kept around mid-back. However, the result was significantly shorter than discussed--ending just past my shoulders--and the layering was not blended. Instead of a seamless transition, there were very visible separations between layers, which made the haircut look uneven and choppy. A couple of days later, I returned to give the stylist an opportunity to correct the issue. I appreciated her willingness to try and fix it, and she seemed confident in doing so. However, despite the effort, the haircut still lacked proper blending and did not achieve the intended look. I don't typically leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience, especially for those with thick hair that requires careful layering and blending techniques. While the service itself was polite, the overall result did not reflect the level of skill or attention to detail I was hoping for. I really liked the reviews, so I gave them a call. Shawnique answered the phone and couldn't have been more likable. I was really excited about coming to her. Shawnique called the day before to confirm my appointment, and asked me detailed questions to make sure she'd be fully prepared for my visit. Again, she was wonderful, and very flexible with me. Unfortunately, the morning of my appointment I learned what a complete and utter bonehead I am, because I COMPLETELY misunderstood just how far away the salon is from me. I have no idea how that happened, and I felt terrible about it, since that was obviously my fault. When I called Shawnique to let her know I wasn't going to be able to take that much time away from work, I offered to send her money to make up for the loss.
