Wally's Bicycle Works has been our local bike shop for as long as I've lived here since 1991. My…read morefavorite purchase came after I was involved in a horrific accident while riding on LOVR. My girlfriend did NOT want me getting back on a bike, but I insisted Walley had the perfect answer for my safety concerns. He recommended I get Electric Recumbent Trike, Cattrike, that would afford me the opportunity to get around town with equal effort. The harder you ride, the more the engine kicks in to get you up to speed. What I find most fascinating about my E-Trike is how much more often I'd hop on it versus grabbing my car keys. My goal whenever I ride is "To Be Seen." I have flashing lights and a bluetooth speaker that announces my presence whenever I'm out on all our fabulous trails in SLO county. Whether you're someone who wants to competitively ride or someone like myself that enjoys simply being out in the sunshine, Walley, with his experience and inventory can get you well on your way. When I first purchased my Cattrike 559 Walley helped my a ton on the price, not only was it affordable for my budget, but he let me make the last payment after a week of riding. I was blown away he first trusts someone and affords them the opportunity to show the goodness in the bike riding community. Walley has hosted, sponsored, and contributed to special event fundraisers and downtown events by donating goods and services. Whenever there's a parade or special function downtown, you'll see Walley and his kiosk of bikes there to help and volunteer. Walley's Bicycle Works includes these services: Bike/E-Bike/Trike and helmet Rentals Help plan and coordinate your ride Bikes at all levels/budget for sale Purchase Equipment, parts and clothing Sponsors Events help you organize your event Hosts kids ride a long parties for parents Full service repair shop for all your needs You can inquire about buy-backs and trade-ins on bikes Save yourself the headache of trying to order the right bike to meet your needs and let Wally's Bicycle Works show you the options available in the bike world. Wally prides himself on a hands-on approach to bicycle sales that promises you that the bike you choose is truly something that will keep you on the road for years. I often stop by his shop just to talk about life and share stories about the things going on around town. Wally is at the shop Monday through Saturday 11am-5pm with his brother there to help get you on your way! Overall Grade: A+

However, from the very beginning, the owner was incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough in explaining how to operate the bikes and helping us choose the best setup for our family with two young girls. We took the Bob Jones Bike Trail, just as the owner recommended, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! The bikes were extremely easy to operate, and by the end of our ride, we were reaching speeds of around 15 mph--which was definitely more than the 5 mph I initially expected! We had such a great experience and would absolutely recommend this business to anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly way to explore the area. We will definitely be back on our next trip!
