Which means you run the risk of running into various levels of opinion and emotional impact due to the constant imposition of work impacting their usual day to day living situation. This job had high maintenance neglect from the previous duplex owner. Most likely, hadn't been painted in 30 years, possibly more. As with most structural neglect, there were issues with wood rot, termite damage and various degrees of stucco degradation. Jason's team was up for the task. There were tense moments, but Jason was calm (at least around me, haha) and handled little flare ups. Jason was up front regarding damage found and was detailed in explaining how his crew would address issues. This took a month due to the amount of damage repair, prep work and finally paint. Jason's crew made this duplex come from a tired eyesore into the quaint mid century cottages that they were meant to represent. Like always, Jason's crew cleaned up the worksite everyday. Made sure things like paint chips and debris were picked up nightly. For the quality and long lasting results that South Coast Painting provides, it's worth every penny spent. You can get cheaper bids, but know that some companies thin out their paint for a lower materials cost. If you want your paint job to last 3 years vs 8-12, that's your choice. My house was painted 9 years ago by South Coast Painters, and there is no peeling or fading. Even on black painted shutters. Personally I don't want my home painted once every 1/2 decade.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dias Painting. 1) Joe delayed giving me the sample color…read moreby over 3 weeks, wasted my time waiting for him several times. 2) Joe did a poor job in estimation, had lots of difficulties when paining one side of the wall, and kept trying to ask me to exclude that part from the agreed contract. 3) while the painting job was fine, they severely damaged my camera system and the backyard shade control, and Joe refused to take the responsibility to fix them, which now is going to cost me several hundred dollars. 4) they also slightly damaged the cover of my greenhouse. 5) works dragged the work for unnecessarily long period of time: they stopped work on the second day claiming the weather was bad, but it was simply cloudy. While Joe promised the work be done in 4 days, they barely got it done in 6 days, and it was only because I will start traveling on the next day and they want the money before I travel. Overall very disappointing experience, would not recommend working with Joe.
