This place is awesome! Came here for a friends birthday and they serve you a giant plate of fresh made food. Plenty of seating and a lowkey vibe. I would recommend!!!

Vegetable Fried Rice

My last order was fine. i'm sorry to say but this time the vegetable fried rice is very salty i can't even finish it even though i'm starving to death.

*IF you plan on coming here, please note, they do have a webpage and Days/Hours posted are different than what Yelp has listed. Volcano Wok is located in a strip plaza on the corner of Sunset & LaBrea, serving up Chinese, Hawaiian & Sushi, what NO Ice Cream and Donuts?! I happened upon this place while parking, we were originally headed for Tacos at the spot in same plaza, I wife loves Hawaiian BBQ so I asked if she'd rather go here, she had to say yes, no tacos for me #sadface The place was empty, ordered food for dine in and it took forever, I don't know how long this place has been around? First to review was in 2006, Perhaps they have a loyal following, because personally I don't know how they survived COVID with all the other businesses closing? But good for them! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=4s2PFCZXsq_QAW0HcaFLdA Hawaiian BBQ Beef ($15.50) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=_Uxi8w9OUpEAbOHUrU-rfQ *per menu - Grilled slices of Tender Beef Marinated in Island BBQ Sauce, Steam Rice & Mac Salad. Well, I'm not sure what the "Island Sauce" part is? But Tender it's NOT, nicely grilled slices of beef, a little fat not too bad but quite a bit of gristle, the Beef https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=t389eopQjFYG91hjJuN1Dw on its own lacked flavor for something that's supposed to be marinated, they did have a nice Teriyaki sauce https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=wlMkInEfE_mXUFGw7D3vcw which helped quite a bit. Steam Rice https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=pj1JJhDHo9tYppRhPbR21A Well it's Rice..... Mac Salad https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=fvC7lrVscoF6nK6m3qJvkQ WOW, I'm almost lost for words, my wife takes a bit of her Mac Salad and asked what I thought, so I took a bite, WORST Hawaiian Mac Salad I've ever had! It tasted like NO other Mac Salad I've ever had, this must be their own secret recipe BUT it's missing something that everyone else uses, whatever that ingredient is I'm not sure, just know this is made wrong! #FAIL Sriracha https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/volcano-wok-los-angeles?select=jO1i7Ea8uaVmW59WIuiW7Q It's either bootleg Sriracha or they water it way down. #shakeshead *Honestly I was between 3 Star it's OK, to 2 Star I'll pass, it was the price of $17+ with tax per meal that made me settle at 2 Stars!

It's in a food hall, in case you're not sure where it's at. Parking in LA can be limited. What makes me like the place the most is the brains behind this operation. Braddah Tim is a Hawaii native, so I'm always going to rock with the ohana making a name for themselves on the mainland here. Dude was super chill and welcoming. Mahalo for the service and food brah, keep it up.

YOU NEED TO ORDER THE SHRIMP…read more Earlier my friend wanted to go to Pine and Crane, but I didn't want to eat dumplings and noodles so I ended up finding this place. SO GLAD I DID! Parking is a little bit crazy around the area. I got lucky because it was a federal holiday on Juneteenth. But if you can find parking, it is well worth it! This hole in the wall place is inside a small little food court next to pizza and a Thai place. I know it might seem a little bit sketchy around the neighborhood, but there's some tables inside to eat and also nice little photo area outside of the food hall. Food: - SHRIMP 15/10 would recommend. Make sure you eat it right then and there with shell on. It had the best seasoning, butter and crunch. I could just do 40 of these. I chose the green salad, but you could also choose cucumber and Mac salad as well. The green salad was packed to the brim! - Meat Jun - ALSO FIRE. It was super tender and flavorful. Don't sleep on this one as well. Quality of meat is amazing. Service does take a little bit longer around 15 min but for the quality of food, I don't mind waiting. As I was thinking about this in the car, I thought to myself it did seem kind of expensive $22 for shrimp and $26 for the beef but we did get complementary drinks so same same. I know it takes a lot of time and energy to prep this deliciousness. Overall, everything was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much Broken Mouth for the experience! We'll definitely be back soon to try the short rib. Cool future implementation: Would love to have a bigger mix and match or 2 item combo box!

Got sunny side up eggs with runny yolks that just melt together with the gravy, rice, and pork. The sweet, buttery roll soaked in the gravy is also such a good addition. 100% getting this again! -Chicken Long Rice: a little different than the ones we tried in Hawaii (different noodle and more veggies in this one) but still so comforting and delish. Heartwarming and gingery goodness. -BBQ chicken plate: also very solid, not super sweet like teriyaki and comes in a decent sized portion. Mac salad is legit and so good - perfect consistency and seasonings. -French toast: one of the best! A superb doughy, chewy, cinnamony, thick cut slice that I drowned in butter and syrup. Ordered take out and it was ready within 15 min or so. Parking lot looked tiny but we just parked on the residential street and it was a quick walk. Wish I lived closer (I'd be here all the time) but totally worth the trip - will be coming back again very soon!

Their musubis were hot and fresh when served. They were cut in half to fit in their to-go containers, which was thoughtful and convenient. The spam they used wasn't the traditional kind that we're used to seeing. It was thicker, but still tasted the same. There was also a lot of teriyaki sauce that off-set the salinity from the spam. There was more sauce than I'd like, it can get a bit messy when you eat them. It was delicious, none-the-less! I definitely recommend getting those. My husband enjoyed the Macadamia Pancakes! He said loved the cream on top and the portion was well worth the $9. The restaurant was pretty packed when we got there around 11am on Sunday. There is only one cashier, so the line will build easily and start to feel a bit congested. They have several menus available to peruse while you're waiting to order. Parking is tight and can be a challenge. We had to circle twice before we found one. Note, it is shared between them and another establishment. They offer seating indoor and outdoor in front and back of the restaurant. Both sides are shaded, it's a great option if you want to enjoy the breeze. I don't normally drive out this way, but I'm glad this passport forced me to come out to try this one. I would love to try their poke! Thanks, Aloha Food Factory, for the great food! We will coming back again.

Over the years I've gotten take-out here but have also done dine-in. It seems they mostly do catering now, because they have very short business hours for the public. They are only open Thursdays and Fridays 10-3. Per the nice male employee who gave me my order, they're open on Sat and Sun if they don't have a lot of catering jobs, otherwise they're closed. Their website says their dining room is closed, but the employee says it's open Thurs and Fri. Nevertheless, I followed the website's info and ordered pick up. Here's what I ordered: 1) Komai's Big Breakfast. Komai was Aloha's original chef. Two eggs with all the meats: Portuguese sausage, Spam, Vienna sausage, corned beef hash plus 2 scoops of rice and a Hawaiian roll. No surprises here, very nice. 2) Kal B Chicken plate lunch. Chicken marinated in the same sauce as the more familiar kalbi beef short ribs, with rice and mac salad. The chicken did not seem to take up the marinade as well as beef, so it was tasty but on the dry side. I'd probably give their chicken teriyaki a go next time. The mac salad was fine, did have potatoes. 3) Spam musubi. Again no surprises, classic 4) ordered a side of char siu, but it was not available.
