My husband was quoting me prices on the phone and I was saying "that is so expensive". I thought he was talking about $34/lb for this rock. $9/lb for that rock. Nope! He was talking about cents! We wound up doing the bulk rock and it looks great in our front yard. I wish we would have bought our fancy, large river rocks from Thompson instead of Home Depot. It would have saved us a lot of $$. We found out about this place from the man that xeriscaped our lawn. We paid for our rocks, and he was able to pick them up under his name. I believe that my husband said you have to be independent at this store. Look for the rocks you want. Write down their numbers, and then go get the prices from the front. Have them steer you towards the price point of your choice.

It was clear this guy had no interest in lifting a finger to help move pavers. When I asked for his input, he gave me a lazy excuse about the outdoor inventory being "buy as you see." I was fine with that--but I wasn't about to buy something I couldn't see. That required a little effort, and apparently, that was too much for him. Maybe because I'm a woman, he figured I wouldn't question his garbage attitude or demand decent service. He was dead wrong.

George sent two guys out to do some repairs... R&R some shower marble…read more George's replacement/repair matched the original marble very well. The guys he sent out kept everything clean and did nice, neat work. I also had George's team re-grout (re-silicone?) areas around sinks and counters that looked like they were getting old and not working anymore keeping water out. This was my first time working with George and Marble Expo... he tells me that it's about $800 for the day of re-sealing those areas. I can tell you that I was dubious. (It's like when the car wash tries to sell you the extra wax/sealant protection... I know I'm paying more but is maybe unnecessary and my car doesn't look any different.) In this case, it would have been easy to charge me $800, squirt on some silicon seal and be done in half a day. But, as it turns out, I feel I very much got my money worth... they were really getting into all the difficult, hard-to-reach areas, completely removing the old material and then doing a clean job re-grouting/siliconing. This was two skilled men doing a good, detailed job and not two guys that are just going through the motions and don't remove the old material in a thorough/clean way and then just squish some silicone in an uneven bead. I think they were there for a day and a half and, like I said, doing labor-intensive, detailed work. In short, I think they did a great job of both the marble repair and making sure my floors, sinks and showers were watertight.

It was a big project -- he installed new flooring throughout our entire house, completely redid our bathroom and shower, and even leveled out one of our bedrooms that had an uneven floor. The project did take some time, but it was absolutely worth it. The quality of his work is exceptional. The floors look incredible, the bathroom and shower turned out beautifully, and the previously uneven bedroom floor is now perfectly level. You can really see the care and craftsmanship in the details. Wayne is very communicative and easy to work with. He keeps you updated, walks through options thoughtfully, and genuinely wants to make sure you're happy with the final result.
