Perhaps I had realistic expectations, having worked in the drug treatment world and having dealt…read morewith drug seeking behaviors, but I found Dr. V & staff refreshingly honest, pretty open and willing to continue, despite my own withholding of some information that might have been helpful, initially. The laws around distribution of controlled medication have been tightened, after nearly condemning many in our country to lifelong addiction. The rebound could have been worse, so I have some compassion for their business. My "worst" experience was when I actually threw my script away one month (I am old, on a lot of pills and got interrupted during the putting them in the cabinet phase of unloading groceries). It sounds like a weak excuse, but it was real. I knew the docs were prevented, by law, from just reupping the script four weeks early, but I did not expect to endure withdrawal for over three weeks with no relief (especially from the leg-shocks or nerve zaps or whatever they are) that prevented ANY sleep for days on end. Looking back, I think I should have gone to a detox clinic. Instead, I found an old script and spread what little was left over three weeks (and after missing a full week of work). The response from the doctor on call was nothing less than just "rude" (and it was not Dr. V or Erin, my regular ARNP) however but truly, I've listened to drug seeking behavior, and I believe THAT was what informed her response. Also, I will guess that it was after many times burned because "guessing wrong" results in disaster & death leaving just no room for empathy. I understood why she was "firm," but not having any suggestions to alleviate the symptoms seemed to land a little on the "neener-neener, you should have known better" side of the coin. So, after that experience of having NO recommendations or medications to managing severe symptoms of withdrawal, especially for someone who had been a patient for over four years, with just that one incident (which was over a year prior to writing this review) I have become METICULOUS about accounting for my scripts. Also, I have leached a bit from each month's prescription so that if I EVER find myself in that situation again, I can at least taper myself off the dependency gradually, and perhaps avoid the withdrawal. To me, this is far LESS dangerous, than seeking scripts from strangers, or using more of some OTHER drug (that may have side effects) in hopes of stopping the spasms, nausea, diarrhea and other symptoms. I will NEVER go through that withdrawal again, and see now why withdrawal alone can induce relapse. After all that, why did I return to a medication that causes such physical dependency? Because the pain I have is so debilitating, it makes me unable to work (especially at my current job that requires almost 3 miles walking, daily, according to my Fitbit). I cannot afford that - few can! The medication has Z.E.R.O. euphoric effect - so I am NOT tempted to take more than prescribed or use it in any way other than as prescribed. Using this medication is the FIRST time in forty years where I did not struggle to take it as scheduled AND it actually eliminated the pain! To me, this is truly a miracle cure! But the true cost is physical dependency. I have to accept it, I don't LIKE it, but can (now) manage. And overall, I find the office more personable, caring and adhering to standards than some. All of which are things I would want them to do with any of MY clients, or my children. I just wished they had SOME protocol for managing withdrawal symptoms, when necessary.

The conversation went south from there. He was rude disrespectful and no other way to put it he was a complete A__ Hole! We were both in shock as to how rude this clown was. When he heard that my wife did not like opioids, he then asked what she expected him to do for her? We have never been to a pain management center and did not know what to expect. It appears this Quack is only interested in pushing narcotics. My wife and I were in shock from the lack of professionalism from Dr Vogelgesang. Had the appointment lasted any longer this A__Hole would have been picking himself off the ground.

Specifically shouting out a few nurses that really made a difference for me were Jillian, Bre, Lakita, Katie and Caitlyn (if the names were wrong or spelled wrong I'm sorry, I was a little loopy a lot of the time). Honestly my whole care team was amazing. I'm coming back to this labor and delivery for my next baby because I know I'm going to get the best care.

Today's interview with the Providence Emergency Department Crisis Unit, once again, several people…read moreinitially presented for the interview panel. The Program Coordinator Behavioral Health Services, an LMHC, I would have to say, was the one person who coordinated this interview who had the least social and professional personality and presented as "stand-offish". It was embarrassing that this credentialed individual in my field of work (mental health) would not have better interview skills than this, but it is the reality of Providence that they hired her. The Program Coordinator was vague and uninviting, and when asked about the next step in the interview process, she immediately dodged the question by saying they had several more interviews this week and into next week. However, I asked when I would know the outcome. One interviewer, a manager, struggled to ask his questions (i.e., speaking and coordinating his words were difficult), and another nurse manager asked when I was completing my doctorate, which was already on my resume. The manager who was struggling to speak because my PsyD from an APA-approved university asked that, once I finished, I move to the other state where the degree came from. Before this question, I had already mentioned that I live in Washington, that my family is in Washington, and that this was our "forever" home, but he asked again. The interview began with six participants, but by the end, only three remained on the call. Attendees dropped off while I was answering the interview questions. Leaving a virtual interview abruptly, without explanation, is generally considered unprofessional and discourteous, as it shows a lack of respect for the candidate's time. Although technical issues can occur, professional etiquette suggests that an interviewer should acknowledge the issue, offer an apology if feasible, and arrange a reschedule. Moreover, the meeting was intended to be an interview, but it lacked structure; the questions posed were random and were made spontaneously by each interviewer. Due to the virtual format, we encountered connectivity issues that caused an echo when we spoke, as well as delays in the sound from the management officials. Still, be mindful that this is not how you treat an applicant by making them responsible for resolving connectivity issues and take the time to explain what this job entails. Not one manager took the time to discuss the position. This is an organization that may (or may not) pay well. However, the fact that people in management positions who hire for the emergency department and a crisis unit cannot have better communication or interview skills is clearly wasting massive amounts of money on useless interviews. It leaves an applicant to believe there is no accountability, and if the public does their research, they will find comments like, "...multiple nurses walked by and did not check on me or say anything to the nurse assigned to me. They have that 'if it is not my patient, it is not my problem' attitude..." The response is probably how the staff feel about their job today. Again, I recommend that you save your skills and go somewhere where you feel valued from the start of your interview through the hiring process. Avoid the Providence Health System (especially in Olympia, Washington) as a whole.

And mind you they have a 15% charge if you miss your appointment. So if you couldn't pay what happens? I didn't have 800 dollars I wasn't even aware it was due until after I was getting prepped. I asked if I can put 200 for now. They made an exception but it just felt really weird and messed up. That's all I had for the next two weeks. I was scared. Usually it's courteous to give a rough estimate before the appointment so one comes prepared. This is with insurance so they were attempting to charge me based on my policy coverage prior to billing occurring. They also didn't offer me any options prior for the wisdom teeth removal whether it be local or IV sedation. It was just a charge list that they handed to me without offering any options. They also didn't talk about any changes that are possible for the sedation process which is the pricey area. Make sure you guys advocate for yourselves and make informed decisions before you walk into any office. Make sure to call and inquire about patient responsibility too so you come prepared for your appointment or have to reschedule. This is something they really need to work on and I'm really disappointed. But I'll end on a positive note, doctor called me in the evening to check on me. Office was responsive when I told them about my stitches coming out. They gave great after care instructions and provided appropriate pain management.

My husband isn't a techy, but seriously we do rely on notifications for appointments believe it or not. I heard the scheduler talking to him about the tech and couldn't believe how condescending they were in the discussion. Things like we did send you a notification and it was for some reason and you must have replied stop or no (should be stop). Weird thing is, he would have no idea to do that and why? Are you sending things other than appointment reminders?. Then it was about sending you wife a notification too, which I did not get either. Then she went on to say well we also sent an email to you. Hubby - to what address, scheduler - read out an address that was over 4 years old. Hubby - well that is really an old address I do t work there any longer. Scheduler- well we wouldn't know that if you didn't tell us (in a very sappy tone). He just hung up because she was seriously not being helpful, only trying to blame us for the communication issue, and just behaving like a jerk. I am equally disappointed in myself as a parent and a health care provider for not seeking another dentist sooner and trusting this dentist. I am a Family Medicine Provider, I rarely leave reviews but I am disheartened and need to communicate this message. My daughter is fearful of all medical clinics as she was in the ICU for a week when she was 3 years old. Yes, she will cry and resist dental treatment likely for a lifetime. A child crying should not limit the treatment or halt the exam. We visited this Dentist on 9 occasions with the intent of getting my daughters teeth examined, cleaned and x-rayed. In the totality of the 9 visits, we received no x-rays or cleaning, the exam was rescheduled each time because my daughter cried. Our Last visit I urged the Dental tech to continue getting the x-ray and just allow her to cry as she was having dental pain. The Dental tech denied continuing. The diagnosis was possible abscess but unknown without xray. Nine attempts to get her teeth cleaned without result. The chart notes were requested; the assessment & plan was cut and paste formulaically every visit with instruction on teeth brushing. I immediately transferred care to Dupont Pediatric density, and they worked magic, did an x-ray and cleaning same day. My Daughter did in fact have an Abscess and was given Antibiotics and referred for appropriate treatment. Please Parents, learn from this. Seek another Dentist if your child is not getting the care you feel they need and deserve. Shame on you Small to Tall pediatric Dentistry.
