Out on my daily 3 mile run at a new location I decided to finish the last 1/2 mile in a "sprint"…read more About a quarter mile later I tripped on a patch of exposed large tree roots and fell forward onto several random protruding roots. I spent a week in patient while they ran comprehensive batteries of X-Rays, CT's, and various MRI's. They imaged every affected body part in every image spectrum possible. I was very impressed by the professionalism and compassion of every single staff person I interacted with. Being in my late 60's and very independent I was not accustomed to this level of care. From the talented physicians, to the nurses, and all the other staff, I was always comforted they had my best interest in mind, even if I did not always agree with them. Once all testing was done and they could make a detailed report, I was released with much better news than expected. I was able to immediately download every test from their patient portal. This is especially helpful for my provider at the VA to review, so we can now discuss a plan moving forward. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality fresh meals, which were brought to the room still very warm. The best review I can give is to declare that I will always go to Providence in any future emergency issues. Hopefully I'll never be back, but if I do return, I know that I'll be in good hands. I highly recommend this hospital.

Severe communication breakdown and lack of empathy for a critical care family…read more Our family's experience with Providence St. Peter Hospital has been deeply distressing during an already terrifying time. My 83-year-old grandmother was recently T-boned in a severe car accident, suffering eight broken bones, and was only just moved out of critical care. She managed to call me from her room, but the phone was disconnected. When I immediately called back to reconnect with her, I faced an absolute wall of bureaucratic incompetence and zero empathy. First, the staff claimed they had no idea who I was talking about. Once they finally recognized her name, they flatly refused to transfer me to her room or provide any explanation as to why. To prevent a family member from speaking to an elderly, severely injured patient who just initiated contact is completely unacceptable. The extreme lack of coordination between units and the rigid, unhelpful attitude of the staff turned a medical crisis into an agonizing, aggravating ordeal. St. Peter's leadership seriously needs to address how their staff handles communication with worried families. Frontline staff need training on basic empathy and how to properly locate transferred patients instead of just shutting families out.

No one wants to go to Urgent Care. Ever. But, sometimes it's just necessary. This is a health…read morefacility that is well organized, efficient and friendly. Most of the time you can walk in, but when things get too crowded, they require an appointment. It's always good to call before you leave the house. All the ARNPs, Doctors and Nurses have been attentive, skilled, timely and professional. ( I've only had ONE Dr not listen, not care and not treat me for a reoccurring condition). The front desk personnel does an excellent job with sometimes difficult circumstances. The seating leaves a lot to be desired, so come alone, or limit the number of people you bring. If you DO end up needing to go to the hospital, they make it easier by contacting the facility and sending you with paperwork so you don't have to "begin again". It makes for a smooth transition and may save time. Know that only the Westside and Hawks Prairie facilities have ultrasound machines. :)

My care was transferred to Dr. Ahmad. Despite assurances that everything would be transferred seamlessly and my established treatment plans would be maintained as is, Dr. Ahmad chose to reduce the dosage of my primary source of pain relief by half. Without telling me. No one contacted me to inform me of this, and I would not have even known this change happened if I had not looked at my bottle to make sure I received the correct medication through the mail. Upon requesting an explanation, I was told that the doctor FELT my dosage was "a very high dose for a young female" and admitted to not knowing anything about my case. Yelp is preventing me from sharing the MyChart screenshots... here's a direct copy and paste of the messages: Me: 11:28 AM I'd like to know why my Celebrex was refilled at half strength. I was receiving 200 mg twice a day, and was reduced without notice to 100mg. This is not going to be sufficient for my needs, and with my history of medical mistreatment... this is incredibly triggering and anxiety inducing for me. Jowairiyya S. Ahmad, MD: 2:57 PM Your Provider Ms. Williams have left the practice She no longer works with Providence You need to establish care with new rheumatologist Dr. Ahmad Dr Ahmad felt it was a very high dose for a young female like you I would not know your issues until I see you in the office and assess you If you are taking the Humira than your NSAID requirement need to reduce We can discuss on the appointment coming up Thank you

When I made arrangements to put my husband in this re-hab facility they assured me they would be…read morechecking on him hourly. And this being a medical facility they would be checking his vitals regularly as well. I checked him in on a Friday night at midnight and on Monday morning he was found dead. The Dr. had given orders for the nurses to call him if my husbands blood pressure went below a certain level. The only checking they did was to put their head inside the door. They didn't go over to the bed and take vital signs. They hadn't checked on him for 13 hours. They neglected him. If they had done their job I could have been there with him. I could have held him in my arms . Instead he died all alone in a strange place with people who didn't care about him or for him. His biggest fear was dying alone and that's what happened. I was also at the facility at 8:00 on Monday morning to bring some glasses and books he wanted to read. Everyone knew he had died at this point except for me. I didn't find out about his death until about 1:30 that day. The next time I saw my husband was 2 days later at the morgue with his eyes sewn shut. My husband was a well known Dr. In the Olympia community. He had practiced for 30 some years. A couple months later I was in the grocery store and picked up the newspaper. The front page article was about the rehab facility laying off 37 people because of my husbands death. That was also the first time I found out they hadn't checked on him for 13 hours. I thought I would have a stroke . They hadn't bothered to tell me this. I had to find out reading it in the newspaper. There was a state and federal investigation . They had to correct 8 violations. The center was closed for a while and now I see they are opening up a brand new facility. My life has blown up and they are carrying on bigger and better than ever. I'm mad and hurt and my life will never be the same. So , as you can imagine I wouldn't put anyone in this facility.

We were excited to go to them because they offer a free appointment if you are expecting parents and want to meet a provider. We met with Dr. Adam Boldt and loved him! After my daughter was born, they sent over another provider since Dr. Boldt was out of town. They checked in with us and made sure our daughter was healthy and okay. Our daughter was a little under weight after a week, but Dr. Boldt worked with us, got us in for weight checks and helped us figure out the best option to get her to eat more. I love their patient portal, which allows us to message Dr. Boldt with non-urgent concerns and questions. We have used it multiple times and love the open communication between us and him. It also saves us a doctor visit! Dr. Boldt, the other providers and all the staff really care about you and your child! Even when we had a billing issue, the billing office helped us get it figured out with the insurance! I can't remember her name, but the staff person went above and beyond to help us and save us money by helping us with the insurance! We will continue to bring our daughter (and future children) to Olympia Pediatrics! They are truly the best!
