In this case I'm not sure if its a good thing that I've never experienced buyer's remorse after making a purchase here, as it explains why I keep coming back. There's something at JB Hi-Fi for everyone from games to computer programs to movies, and all at great retail prices too. Now and then they also have one-off sales where everything in-store is cost price + GST- so always good to keep your ears pinned for that one. It's not the biggest JB Hi-Fi branch but I know my way around. The staff here are quite reliable and the last time I went looking for an HDMI cable, the guy there told me about every single one they had, including the advantages and disadvantages. You don't get a lot of great service in retail these days so I take what I can get, and I was very impressed. Even the security at the store here always make a note to say hello and goodbye to all the customers- a little recognition goes a long way.

I can't remember his name, but flip, he is the best! They are always super helpful and have a great selection of DVDs. If I'm on the hunt for something in particular, they are the most likely store to stock it. (bar one time I was looking for Shutter Island - found it on Queen St) The only department in this store that I dislike is the electronics section. One guy tried to sell me an SD TV as an HD one. Fortunately, I was not the stupid woman he supposed, but a film maker who knows the difference. I smiled at him politely, and walked off. I hope he was just ignorant and not really a con man.

Walked in to the Manukau Spark shop to do a routine purchase of a SIM card which should be a 5 minute job. All 3 staff appeared busy but one male staff member was chatting to a couple of ladies in Hindi - obviously not customers - and was totally oblivious to the queue of customers forming. After a 15 minute wait I managed to attract some attention and was assisted thus reducing my blood pressure and averting a crisis! This is no good in a service company! I would go elsewhere but unfortunately the choice of mobile phone companies is slim in NZ and competition isn't much of a problem because the other main mobile company is just as dire!

I brought in a laptop for a straightforward repair and was told it would be checked the same day. After waiting the entire day with no update, I was finally told it needed to be sent to another branch and wouldn't be ready until late next week. When I asked for the device back so I could take it elsewhere, the staff member handed me the phone with the manager on the other end. The manager immediately started raising his voice at me, calling me impatient and acting as though I was being unreasonable for wanting a clear timeframe. I also had to push them just to reassemble the laptop so I could take it away. Technician purposefully destroyed my laptop by putting incorrect screws on the front of the laptop, unbelievable! How can an ''experienced" technician not know hes reached the end of the standof for the screw, this is unbelievable. As per photos. This was 100% intentional because i wouldn't wait a week for them to do a repair that a shop 1km away did in 1 hour, this is a 150 dollar replacement part and almost 100 worth of labor if im lucky, terrible. I took the device to Advanced Computers in Albany, who diagnosed the issue properly and fixed it without any drama. The difference in professionalism was huge. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

They said that it was going to cost about $400 to get fixed. I took it to Ubertec in Parnell and they had a look at it and for $80 they inspected in and fixed the problem - WHICH turned out to not be hard drive failure at all!!!! Never have I had such horrible service. BE CAREFUL WITH THESE GUYS. THEY MAY RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!!

I took it elsewhere, to a highly reputable authorised Mac service agent who ran tests and came back with a clean bill of health. Do not go near these guys.
