This is one of the most corrupt, disrespectful, and callous organizations I have ever had the privilege to work with. When I initially was trying to find housing, I had read reviews from previous Danish students about concerns of cladding falling off buildings, the refusal to maintain facilities, the closing of common areas, and the lack of communication. I've had some bad housing experiences so I thought--how could this be worse? It is. 100%. There are groups of students currently trying to SUE the foundation for their treatment of students. UCPH Housing Foundation refused to allow students to modify rental contracts (even if you want housing for a single semester, you HAVE to pay for Jan-July). When the Covid-19 outbreak happened, students were forced to leave and begged to shorten their contracts because they couldn't afford to pay double rent. The foundation refused. When students moved into numerous accommodations, there were mattress stains, broken furniture, limescale stains, etc. However, none of this was written up in the move-in report done by the accomodation inspector. (Not everyone can attend this move-in date if they're flying in internationally). Upon leaving, the students were then CHARGED for these same issues they arrived with. It doesn't matter how clean you leave the apartment/dorm. I scrubbed--SCRUBBED--mine down. And yet they mention that everything needs "extensive cleaning". They find as many ways to dock you points: the interior windows need cleaning (how am I supposed to clean that?!), vents need cleaning, the tiles need cleaning, every goddam thing--probably the ceiling to every crack in the floorboards--needs cleaning. They do this just so they can rack up enough fees to keep your deposit. So, if you want to sign up with these folks. Know that you will never get you $1000 deposit back. Nor will these people ever be on your side. They're monsters. RUN AWAY.

For example my living accommodation was partly unfinished including rough edges on doors and no exhaust for the stove. Furthermore the emergency phone was not answered on two occasions. This severely raises a concern with their limited business hours. I would recommend that students at UCPH find housing through another means as it will likely be cheaper and they will know what they shall be expecting. Another unpleasant experience was personal threats via. Email that were not clarified over garbage left in a common area perhaps even by non tenants. If this company continues to operate in the hospitality business, they need to make some serious changes. Lucky for them they target a vulnerable niche market, being international students. I just wanted to add one serious safety concern I had when I was a resident with this company. The keys to our whole building were kept in an unlocked electrical box accessible in the common stairwell. Fortunately I didn't explore and find this out until I moved out. Just a word of caution don't hesitate to ask about these things. Even if you're just asking maintenance, etc.

It's just as beautiful and scenic as seen in famous photographs and paintings. It survived the Great Fire that destroyed most of Copenhagen. A famous Danish fairytale writer lived in not 1, but 3 of these houses on the waterfront. That's right! There are wall plates designating the buildings that Hans Christian Andersen lived in along Nyhavn. So, why 4 stars? It's a huge tourist attraction! That means it's super crowded with many travelers taking canal and Inner Harbour cruise tours. It's lined with cafés and restaurants on both sides of the canal. All of which look amazing yet are pricier than the ones you see tucked away from all this hype. The outdoor tables at these restaurants are all taken along the canal. There's certainly lots of people watching going on here. We were told to be aware of pickpocket activities. To be honest, it's just like any other crowded tourist spot. Don't let that discourage you. There's a hot dog stand here that appears to be very popular. Just know that there are many throughout the city that are just as good and with better seating. With all that said, it was still an amazing sight to see. It's probably best to give yourself more time to browse through everything that this area has to offer. It's a fun & happening place to be. Go there in the early morning hours for a calmer experience. You'll get better picture opportunities of the brightly painted buildings with the reflections off the water.

We hear it is very popular in the summertime and even though we were here on a weekday in the winter, the restaurants and bars were packed. I walked here from the hotel, which allowed me to experience the city and take in the sights on the way. It's an area where you are surrounded by artwork everywhere, from murals to an actual plane displayed above a restaurant's seating area. The main attraction is an outdoor area of restaurants that sell all kinds of international food, including Thai and Korean. Since I had already eaten before I got here, I grabbed a drink and sat down to enjoy it, while watching people fishing. Outside of the restaurants, there is an adequate amount of seating. There are bleachers and public seating centrally located because some of the restaurants don't have seating. There are also a handful of shops, including clothing and even glass blowing. The restrooms are unisex, previously metal shipping containers.

They claim that this area is completely beyond the rules and the laws of Copenhagen. In some ways, that is pretty easy to see as the main street is lined with people selling weed and hash, which is still illegal in Denmark. Copenhagen is not Amsterdam. Though a bit sketchy, this city within a city is very well maintained. I am sure there is some other story going on here. ...One that we will never know. This being said, what you will find here is some of the best street art and graffiti that you will witness anywhere across Copenhagen. Of course, it is clearly stated all over the place, "No Photos." But, I'm guess that is more to keep the people dealing drugs safe and off the radar than anything else. One of the funny/interesting things I find about this location is that tour buses actually pull up to it. I don't know, maybe it's just me me, but if you are truly embracing an alternative lifestyle that all seems rather intrusive. Nonetheless, this is an interesting place.
