I don't use this company and never will but explain to me why your salesperson Adam kept trying to come into my house and when I refused tried to get me to come outside. Once my husband poked his head out our bedroom window to see what was going on Adam's entire demeanor changed and he asked if he could just leave info. I said yes in hopes he would leave, instead he asked to come inside and use a table, when I said no, there's a table outside he said he was tired from walking and asked to come in and sit. I said no, there's chairs outside and at this point my husband took over and told him we're not interested. Then, he tried to start his sales talk with my husband. My husband told him again, we're not interested and he said "I'll be back I just want 5 minutes of your time" not only was he very unprofessional, but creepy as well. This "security company" allowed someone to set up a new account without verifying with me first (the homeowner). Instead of walking her through a transfer of the account, they set her up with a whole new account and charged both of us. When I realized this, I called and they are refusing to refund me for the three months that they collected service fees for two separate accounts at the same address. They then blamed ME for not "canceling" my account. I tried to log on and my account said it was deleted and the new renter told me she transferred the account. Poor service. Do not use this company. We had this system 10 years. When we called to cancel the representative was arguing with us not to cancel. The panel had issues I called many times about the issues. The want you to fix the system. After it still not working I asked for a service person. They only offered this as I was canceling. We called because they continued to send a bill after we called and canceled. Now they have sent us to collections. They are still collecting there money we just noticed. So how can they continue to get pd yet they sent us to collections. 1. Video quality, especially at night was very poor quality. Very pixelated and choppy even after troubleshooting with Vivint Tech support. We had 1GB internet speed so it wasn't a network issue. There was mail theft in a cluster mailbox across the street and local PD requested video footage from our system but the quality was so bad the footage couldn't be used. This didn't make us feel protected should we need to submit footage for our own use. 2. Mobile app would report our garage doors as closed when they were in fact open. Neighbors called us on more then one occasion while out of town letting us know our garage door was open when the app was reporting it being closed due to our cat tripping the garage sensor. 2. Should you elect to move to another home and not transfer your system to your new home, you are required to pay monthly for the monitoring service while you pay off the equipment even though none of the equipment is installed on your home making it impossible for a monitoring service to monitor anything. This defies common logic. 3. Customer service seems to be contracted help from foreign country. 4. 5-year contract offering is not good. 5. In order to discontinue contract prior to term, a support field tech must come to your house 4 or more times to troubleshoot the same issue before allowing you to be released from your 5-year contract. 6. The monitoring service will not automatically contact you to check on you if your system goes offline for an extended period of time. They will only contact you if a sensor is triggered. This means that a criminal can clip your wires or physically disable your system and the monitoring service you pay for never reaches out or notifies local authorities if you are in need of help. Not good and not safe. 7. Our overall experience left us feeling as if Vivint was only out for money and not truly for customer safety they promote during the sales pitch. We do not recommend Vivint to our loved ones, friends or any others we care about. We highly recommend you google check for other similar experiences and see for yourself before considering this company to help keep your loved ones and property safe. read more

I used them at a previous address and sold the home which the new buyer got his service switched over and somehow they did not do it correctly where I was stuck paying the entire balance of the equipment while the new buyer used it! Then to pacify me they came to my home we purchased after and put a small system in which I paid cash and had a monthly service. We sold in October and the new owner took over the account that I had to pay off from previous house and now they want me to pay all this money claiming it was never canceled even though I sent a email as they requested and all while the new owner was set up on her service using the equipment I paid for, so they were double dipping! I called about 8 months ago to find out exactly when my contract would end. The Vivint representative told me December, 2017. What he didn't tell me was that I had to email them stating that I wanted the service canceled. In January, 2018, I called to verify that my service had been disconnected, which of course it wasn't. I emailed them requesting that my service be disconnected and I later received an email back from them confirming receipt of my request. I later noticed that they STILL took money out of my account for the service. I called back and the representative told me I still had to pay for January, but that he'd credit me back $25 since it was going to be a partial month. Okay, I get that. Now it is Feb. 7th; I checked my account to see if they credited me the $25, which they did, but they ALSO TOOK another month's payment out of my account. What kind of business blatantly steals money like this?! Even zero stars would be too good for them. Now I'm going to have to go through further hassles of calling them to get my money back. read more

I would NEVER buy a product from this company! My door has a no soliciting sign on it and they refuse to recognize this! They rang my door bell this afternoon and I told them I did not need their services. They then came back at 8:00 pm and approached my husband in the driveway. The tech who came by did a poor job installing cams and then drilled a whole so big that wires to the camera are sticking out on the outside and if somone wanted to they could literally cut the wires. The job is so badly done that my brother and I laugh and joke about how horrible I was scammed. Vivent cameras are always going down or out. First off, the coverage we received for over four years as a Vivint customer was good. We had no problems with the service or the equipment. However, when cancelling service in April 2019, the company continued to bill and receive payment for an additional two months. When contacting customer service, I had to prove that my contract was expired, and was told that when I had called, customer service presumed that my contract was NOT expired, so payment collection continued for two months. Now, when attempting to obtain the refund due, the first individual did not correct process the refund. So, a week later, an additional call to customer services, only to discover that it would take an additional 24 hours for the auditing department to research and approve the refund. Fine...but then an email is sent to state that it would take 5 additional days for the refund to be processed and accepted by the bank. Now, this company has TWO months of payment for services they did not render, no policy for providing inconvenience fees to customers and will offer no further support to a loyal customer. Seems that they really do not care for their customers. Make sure that all dealing with this company and their customer service results in an email back to you to verify that they are doing what the indicated they said they did. read more

Looks like they all must be trained with the same manipulation tactics the service is perfectly fine but the lies I was fed to originally set up the service one month ago really set the company off poorly. 1. When the salesman came to my house I was quoted a price. It was more than i was paying currently, but the equipment is better so I felt that was worth it. I asked multiple times about hidden fees, more equipment fees, etc. and he assured me that the price he gave me was for everything I wanted. We talked about how the smoke detectors and co detectors worked because I didnt like the ones I previously had. When they came to set up the equipment, the price he assured me was correct kept going up and up. Besides multiple individual sensors I had to buy, I had to also add the smoke and co detectors even though he knew I wanted them so I assumed they were in the price. It was just a scammy way to get me to sign up thinking it was a lower price. 2. When I signed up the rep told me that $150 credit would be added to my account so it would basically waive the next 3 months service fee (49.99 a month)- so I was very surprised when I was charged, thinking it was a mistake. Nope. He never put any credit on my account. 3. They told me they would pay the remainder of my current security system ($150) and I never heard back from anyone. Basically they will feed you any lie to get you to sign up and not follow through. So far the service is fine but customer service is a huge thing to me. Let me start by saying this post is my last effort to get a refund of $198 for a moving charge that was mistakenly placed upon us. We've been in contact with customer service for over a month trying to get our issue resolved. It started with our new contract not being received (started on May 19th), which was emailed out again, signed again, and returned again. Another few calls later, our contract still has not been updated (who's in charge of organization here?!). In speaking with Pierce Taylor last week, we were ASSURED this issue would be resolved within two business days. A week later, we've STILL NOT received our refund. However when the guy came to my house to install the system, he only brought 6. Said to him that was wrong and he called back to his company and had me sign in his tablet. I have been a customer with this company for almost a year. If I could give no stars I would have. 1st the salesperson lied to us and told us he would pay off our existing security system contract. Well that never happened and he never called us back and i even called the company to tell them this happened. Their answer was well we can call his manager. And still nothing Then the sales person told us we didn't need to pay VIvint for monitoring after one month. and that was a lie also. He told us we could monitor our system on our own. And this is true if u don't finance the system. Then I called because one of our sensors was missing. It was one of the preexisting sensors that had fallen off. She was happy to charge me $30 for the sensor and $5 to mail it. This was an existing sensor. Vivint never even put one there. They used what was there and now that it fell off they want to charge me. R u kidding me. This company is horrible at customer service horrible at making things nice for the customer and as far as I can see they only want your money. Worst experience ever. Went to cancel the service I have had for the last 15 years. Advised by the clerk I was not in contract and was clear to cancel subscription, of course after being offered to drop the cost to $29.99 from the 49.99 price we have been paying. Anyway I was cleared to close the account in August. Got an email advised account was delinquent. Then was advised I owed $65 for the remainder of a 40 month contract I did not sign up for. Moved into house in December 2013 and said I agreed to service contract March of 14, miracously it was over in Oct 2017. Amazing isnt it. Of course they advised it was a verbal contract, most convenient. Anyway I was advised the money would be waived if I stayed with them for another 40 months. Nope.... I reached out to this company for a quote. Within days I was bombarded with 'discount' pricing offers which was annoying. Why wasn't I given the best pricing available when I called? I don't like that kind of game playing. I let them ALL know that I was doing my research and wasn't ready to commit, but that I would like all contact to stop and I would reach out to them when/if that was the company we chose to go with. The next day the 'local branch manager' text me when yet another 'better price to earn my business' and I said we went with a different company and I wanted the contact to stop. Customer service is horrible. Technicians are lazy and only pass the buck. We've had our system rebooted about 50 times by now, because that's their fix for everything, but never works. We've been having issues with our cameras not capturing everything and all they want to do is reboot the system. We've had our cars messed with and nothing was caught by the camera. We were told by the second technician that came to try to "solve" the problem that unfortunately since the camera caught him coming up the driveway, he couldn't do anything about it. Essentially saying we're lying about the problem. Then proceeded to say that the problem was that our equipment was outdated. Called customer service again and all they want to do is mess with the settings...again. Mind you this was a supervisor. She wanted me to tell her how to fix the problem. All I want is for the equipment I'm paying a lot of money for to work as it was promised it would. Vivint is suppose to be the expert and they want me to tell them how to fix it? Now I'm stuck with equipment that works intermittently and nobody can help me. I will be cancelling service with Vivint as soon as my contract is over. Thousands of dollars in the trash. I wish I would have never signed up with this company. I signed up in August 2017. Immediately after the instillation, I began having problems with a camera that was installed on the side of my home. After multiple calls and on two different occasions, a technician came to my home to try to resolve the issue free of charge due to the fact that I had just signed up and was still within the cancellation time frame. The issue has never been resolved and every time I have contacted this company, I invest at least one hour of my time on the phone going through step by step instruction involving tech supports, shutting off my breakers, manual application updates and rebooting the system. The system is restored properly then fails once again within hours of the service call. The service calls I initiated grew more distant apart due to the frustration of my personal time invested required. Every time I would need my system to work properly (such as going on vacation), I was reminded of this poor decisions and forced to once again revisit their tech support to try to resolve the issue. I requested a service visit to my home and was informed that I need to first, climb up a ladder to access the camera near the eave of my roof (while maintaining phone contact with the tech support). When I informed them that I felt this was dangerous, I was told they would send someone however, I would need to pay a $49 service charge. I explained to them that my camera has never functioned properly and felt that I should not be charged a service fee for fixing an issue that has never been resolved. I was informed that since I hadn't called in a few months, they are assuming that my system has been working just fine. The phone tech then informed me that he (Shawn) would document my "refusal" to comply with their recommendations (climbing up the ladder) to attempt to resolve the issue. Shawn then informed me that he will not waive the service fee. I tried to express my frustration by reminding Shawn that I have continued to pay (on time) my monthly fees for a faulty product. Again, Shawn (with an arrogant demeanor), informed me the fee will not be waived due to my refusal of complying with there recommendations for technical issues related to that camera and reminded me that it is assumed the camera has been functioning fine since I have not continually contacted them throughout this time. This company requires a five year contract and has informed me the only way out tis to purchase the remaining balance off all of the equipment (including the poorly functioning camera). I have only been with this company for one year and wish I would have never started up with them.
