I don't leave home without it. It does just what they say. I have added more cameras and about to call for more. I am a senior living alone in Florida. I had my family get the app and told them to check on me, my health is poor so they living in Texas can check on me The people at Vivint are always very polite and very patient when I forget the house alarm is set and I trigger the alarm. Also they contact me immediately. The technical personnel really know the business and are always helpful. Their cameras are great and really give you a good video picture. I used VIVINT for about a year and a half. I had the equipment installed and the installation guy was awesome. The equipment was faulty, the window would trip all the time and my alarm system would go off almost weekly. I called support and they told me that I needed to change the settings. The settings were fine until after using it for 6 months. I moved out of the house that was being serviced. I tried to cancel numerous times and was told that I either had to pay off the equipment first or that I would have to buyout my contract. I couldn't do either of them at the time and had my account on hold. When I was able to I called and did a buyout to cancel my contract. I had gotten billed 5 days before I canceled and the rep told me that he included that monthly payment in with the buyout price and would refund me the previous payment. They never did. They canceled and I was still getting billed. I finally got a hold of a supervisor that could refund me and stop the reoccurring payments. Overall, I think that the reps need to be retrained and the equipment is mediocre. I would not recommend this company to anyone. ADT is better. read more

I have had Vivint security system for my home for five years and have had nothing but problems with the $5000 worth of substandard equipment and almost $100 per month fees. I'm on vacation for a month and had to disarm my system due to a false alarm that brought the police. Customer service is non existent; after spending an hour on the phone each day for 3 days they cut me off twice. DONT USE THIS CRAPPY COMPANY!! I've spoken to CS reps and "supposed supervisors" for hours on end; if you truly want customer satisfaction; refund my equipment and service fees from day one. STEP UP!!' read more

Sales Manager Logan lied to us through the entire process. When we had an issue, he promised to call us back and he did not. After several calls, we finally called "customer service" - it should be called NO customer service!! Do not do business with this company. All we got was the run around. Never got the same answer twice and they did not do what they said they would do. Be sure to check your local cell tower signal. They will tell you it will work and when it does not, then you security system is useless. read more

I would leave zero stars if possible. Vivint salesmen con you into thinking you have a 12 month contract, but they mislead you by putting their service contract in with the credit contract for the equipment which is 5 YEARS. They refuse to maintain their end of the contract and maintain the equipment that breaks easily, and they charge a ridiculous amount for "monitoring" when you can't even access your cameras or app 99% of the time. Had the best offered 3 years ago and have regretted it ever since. Often a message comes up (are you still watching).If I don't push the button it shuts off..some security camera..often it won't detect movement. Two weeks ago it broke so Rodney came out to repair,I asked if he had a better camera,for $435.he would do the upgrade.i paid him but after about his boss told him it won't work with my system.10 days later I asked for my money back and was told they put it towards my payments. This company is full of liars! I was told that all my ADT sensors would work with Vivint and that they would handle canceling my ADT contract. I am 2 months in and finding out that the reason they won't connect my door lock and fire alarms is because they ARE NOT COMPATIBLE! Plus, the equipment that I bought through Vivint barely works. We recently moved to another state and decided we were going to cancel our service which would mean we had to pay the remainder months we had under contract. No problem I notified customer service explained I wanted to pay of the contract in full. The First Lady who helped us complete this action was very helpful until it was time to confirm our payment. I was put on hold to wait for payment confirmation then another representative asked me again for all my credentials and payment information again . I told her I already gave that info I'm just waiting for confirmation then the representative started asking me all these questions I informed her lm just waiting on the confirmation then I was put on hold again another representative came on the line and asked me for all my credentials agin and payment info by this time I asked for a manager was put on hold again then another representative got on asked me again for all my credentials mean while each person was sending emails to refer people. I'm like damn I can't even get a payment confirmation to close out the account. Then the fifth person I was transferred to said she can see my payment but can't give me a receipt. I purchased a Vivint security system and paid for the equipment. I ended up cancelling after continually paying for equipment after it had already been paid off for the year. I sent in my cancellation notice and 30 days later they still withdrew another month payment from my account. The money was not returned to my account until I was able to contact a supervisor. read more

We have had Vivint for almost a year. Not very happy with them. Have had a number of issues. Then due to an issue with my neighbor I wanted to add two cameras. The cost was outrageous!!!! I wrote to the CEO weeks ago. No response as of yet and I doubt if I'll receive any. As soon as my contact is up I will drop them and just take a loss on the equipment. Terrible company. Just want to rope you in and then not support you. There are so many other companies out there that are better and more reasonable priced. read more

Stop - don't even consider going with Vivint. They're sweet as pie during the up front new customer courting phase but it ends there. Their installers are poorly trained and sloppy (at least ours was). He placed a camera up against a window negating the motion sensor and making it blind at night. Then, after we had to relocate the cameras ourselves to make them functional/useful, they changed their operating system which was incompatible with the cameras causing the cameras to shut down. Now we got the security system because we are away from the property for long periods of time. Their operating system change crippled our cameras and the only fix is for us to go to the main panel and reset the cameras. How much sense does that make when you're 2,000 miles away? They won't even allow their technicians to enter your property without you to correct the problem they created. For crying out loud, we have pest control people who enter our house on a monthly basis without supervision. You'd think a company who's service is to provide security would WANT to fix the problem as fast as possible. Don't waste your time or money and certainly don't put your faith in Vivint. They aren't committed to the security of your property or worried about your piece of mind!!!!! read more

just had this security system installed last week had one issue with the doorbell camera but they came back out and fixed it so far we love the new security system. It is a lot better then our previous one will leave another review to give an update later on to see if they keep giving us good service. read more

As someone else said, don't even think about it. We had Vivint in NJ. We sold our home suddenly and relocated to FL. The new home owners for the house we sold, were not interested in the system. It was too expensive for them. Vivint would NOT let us out of the contract. To set up at a new location will cost us thousands. They have continued to charge us monthly and threatened to ruin our credit if we stopped paying. They continue to tell us to buy out the contract will cost $3500. They never told us it was a five year contract. Sweet as pie in the beginning. I have been telling everyone I know not to get the system. The customer service people have been unhelpful every time we call. This situation has been going on for a year now and they have not reduced the cost to buy out the contract. There are also less expensive system. Their monthly charge is $70/month which we are still paying with no service! Shame on us for not reading the fine print. Totally disgusted and disappointed. Less impressed as time goes on --we were one of the initial users of it -it seems fantastic but because their abilities improved and the technology of home security systems also improved and they had such competition however- our five-year contract didn't grow with the company and they made astronomical Financial demands of their early customer so they don't make to the new customers to keep up with the technology --very disappointed!
