I called Manny because of the reviews on yelp. He is located close to me. The only reason I did not give him 5 stars is because he was scheduled but an hour after he did not show up, I called. There was a very good reason for why he was late and out of his control. He did come over later the same day. First, he's a really personable man. He is also competent. I wanted all my doors keyed alike and a deadbolt added. He took all the locks off then realized the main door lock was not compatible. We could have still do it, but changing a component that I did not wish to change. No problem. He put all the locks back in and then added the deadbolt. I highly recommend Manny. read more

So, a week or so after I used Affordable twice, I received a phone call after 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. It was Manny calling me from somewhere out of the country to tell me that the check I had written them would not go through. I knew there was no way that my check would have any problem clearing. Needless to say, I did not sleep much that night. I called my bank ASAP to verify that there was no problem with my check and sure enough, there had been no problem with my check. When I first called, I was promised same-day service, which I wasn't expecting. That was great, except that they never showed that day. The next day I called back, and they were apologetic and came out in the afternoon. I had them redrill a door to put in a new deadbolt. They did that part well, but didn't check to see if the tongue of the deadbolt fit into the lock--I found out the next morning that it didn't. I tried calling to get them to fix it, but didn't get an answer, so I went with a different locksmith. I don't think any of these problems were intentional, I would have just appreciated a little more communication and thoroughness. read more
