Make sure to ask for ALL the small print terms because they will sign you up for a 5yr monitoring contract. DO NOT fall for this... the act all nice and like they are a legit business, but they do not. Luckily we cancelled before the equipment was fully installed, so we didn't get stuck with this. 10/17/18 Well I came back and change my review! it was only fair I was very upset and confused and I got a call from Joseph and he talk to me and understood my frustration and he and the team corrected my issue, thanks so much for understanding and caring. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!! Absolute WORST security system I have ever experienced and now I am stuck in a 5 year contract for a piece of crap system that is basically a worthless art decoration on my wall because it doesn't work! According to the panel, the system won't disarm because it says "incorrect pass code" (it is correct), but yet the alarm doesn't sound when a door or window is opened. So it's a dead system and anyone can now break into my house without triggering the alarm. GREAT!! Good thing I have a 12-gauge shotgun and a guard dog! My wife called technical support Monday when it happened the first time and SHE had to fix it via a phone call. Then when I get home today (Wednesday) it's giving me the EXACT same problem. So it was never fixed. I called technical support and they want ME too to fix the problem via phone, asking me about wiring, connections, etc. INSIDE the panel. Yes, I had to take the panel apart, at which point I demanded they send out a technician and have THEM fix the system since after all, it is VIVINT's equipment and I don't work for them. The service rep then proceeded to tell me they can send out a technician for a $49.99 service call fee. REALLY??? You're going to charge me for equipment failure?? Oh did I mention we haven't even had this system for a year yet, but I've already called them AT LEAST a DOZEN times? After talking with the telephone service rep for 57 MINUTES, demanding it be sent to escalation, and them finally agreeing to waive the $49.99 fee "if I want," the rep said I would get a phone call shortly after the call to set up the service call appointment. 5 HOURS LATER I have not received a phone call yet. So again I call Vivint. After waiting 24 MINUTES to even talk to a service rep "due to high call volume" (I can't imaging why), the rep proceeds to tell me the first rep was wrong and it typically takes 12 but up to 24 hours to get a call from the appointment center. So we might get a phone call by Friday to set up an appointment sometime NEXT WEEK! And back when I was snookered into signing with them, they talked me into getting the electronic door lock. HUGE mistake. It takes 4 AA batteries and I've already had to change them 7 times in 11 months!! I'm ready to call the Better Business Bureau and see how I can get out of my contract because Vivint's service and equipment SUCKS!!! read more

They came and acted respectful at first but slowly and slowly became rude. Their didn't respect me in my own house and all my wishes and began to look around at all my items to make assumptions of me. I asked them to go to the door because my wife came home from work and they insisted on staying. I told them she hated having guests in at EIGHT at night and they gave me a smirky smile, crossed their arms and sat back on my couch. If I could I would give them a zero rating for their salesman and why do they roll around every week at night? I expect you to have some respect for the house owners when your in their house but that's not the case with this company and their employees. Their professionalism is so bad that they ended up giving me their notes instead of a blank pamphlet so I get to see everything from their perspective and what their " goal" was. If I were you, get ring over this, I rather have people that respect me. And if Vivint reads this, teach your employees professionalism or I recommend sending them to the " hood" and see how far they last with that act. read more

Scam artist. Do not use at any cost. I had ACOM before hand and was happy with the service. Then vivint high pressure sales people came to the house - I add two remote door lock, remote garage door opener. Well none of it works and my entire system does not work. We active the alarm and the alarm did not go off. The panel never connected to my home wifi. They left off four sensors - which I had to get on line with a rep to add. The garage door still does not work. The storage room door alarm reports on the panel that the door is open - from the panel I can look and see that the door is shut. I am having to get a lawyer to sue them for break of contract, because I am paying for a security system, I am in a contract with them to provide that security and they are not providing it. SO, vivint can either let me out of my contract on I am going to sue them for breach of contract. read more

We have been with Vivint since 2011. In the beginning, they were a little on the expensive side but at the time, they were ahead of most of the other companies in technology. Just recently we wanted to add a camera to our existing system, Vivint said that they could do it but it would cost us about $400. for a doorbell camera and then our bill would go up about $6.00 more a month which would have brought our monthly bill up to about $67. a month. So I decided to shop around and I found out that ADT would provide us with 2 cameras for much less than what Vivint was asking for. The worst part was calling Vivint and telling them that you wanted to discontinue their service with them. Although our contract ended years ago, the so called manager on the phone gave me a hard time saying that we renewed our contract some time back, which we never did. We did have some rude guy come to our door once and got mad at us because we didn't want to renew. He was nice at first but when we told him that wanted to shop around first. he got real sassy and sarcastic. If these people come to your door with that big orange sign, you'd better think twice because when it comes time to leave them they will high pressure you, and give you a really hard time. I've heard some real horror stories about these people but I thought that they were probably over exaggerated but now I see that they are true. I was wondering why all the Vivint signs are disappearing around my neighborhood. Everyone is jumping ship. read more
