Don't do it! The equipment is very costly, the customer service response is terrible. I've spent 41 hours trying to cancel them! They said even though I paid off the equipment that didn't work well to begin with, it would be 90 days to cancel the service. I don't live there anymore & feel certain the new owners don't need me getting notifications about their comings & going. This time I was on hold 28 minutes & don't use the chat if you need support or changes to your account either, they'll just tell you to call. read more

Poor Business practices. This is an alarm company that cannot guarantee its services or its equipment. These salespeople practice unethical means to get contracts signed and never follow up as said. You can never get customer support long wait times and if you do it is over sea's when you request to speak with someone in the US it doesn't happen though Vivint is based out of Utah. Have complaints about their business practices, especially when it deals with my safety. They are an alarm service you cannot reach when the equipment is not working very reassuring to me. You buy an alarm to know your house and family are safe, well think again. Not with the Vivant alarm system or its support team working . I have spent over six hours on the phone not getting anything done. No one could answer a question to get me to help most of my conversation was with the Philippines, yet a Utah-based company how American. When you cancel the services they require you to wait 30 days and if you exceed that time frame by one day they charge you a full monthly service fee. read more

As with another review, if I could rate Vivint with a zero I would. I signed up for a two year contract but ended up having to buy out for an additional 39 months plus the balance on the equipment for having sold my home in Georgia. They are thieves and bad communicators about their products. Stay away and go with another company. read more

We will be cancelling as soon as we get orders to move. We switched from adt, so all the monitors were already there-they just needed to sync them to their panel. Fast forward two months and we realize they never even synced the window monitors. When we called, they couldn't get them synced and said we needed to buy all new sensors which would be $500 on top of our 2000 something dollar contract even though they were supposed to get us all set up the day we switched. Do not use them. They're just out to gauge you. Go with ADT. We will be going back to AFT & warning everyone about this trash company. read more

Let's start by saying if there was a zero that is what I would rate them. Check yelp,bbb,and Google and you will never choose this company. They make a habit of telling you that you are signing a 2yr contract, but it's 3 and 4yr ,but when you cancel your service after the contract they still take money from your account. Customer service was nice enough, but it doesn't make up for the short comings. The contracts are long, and the service and equipment are subpar. Even when my system is armed the doors can open and not set off the alarm. I asked for new magnets and they wanted to charge $40/ half inch magnet. They did offer me a discount when my contract was almost over. I could get everything fixed for half price...if I signed a new two year contract. I'll pass. read more

Last year I took a job where traveling was involved. Leaving my wife and son at home without protection was a concern so when VIVINT dropped by we signed up. Fast forward 4 months and our family when thru unexpected changes. A divorce, health issues and other problems led to both of us relocating to different states. I recently looked on my bill to find that I am being billed monthly for a service I am no longer getting. VIVINT's only response was either pay us $400 to move the service, find a way to get the new home owners to take over the contract or pay us $2111 for the time remaining on the contract. They have no concern for issues their customers may be going thru. All they want is their $$$!!! I just thought consumers should know the kind of company that is knocking at their unprotested door. read more

This company is the most horrible company I have ever dealt with! I read these reviews where people say they had a 2, 3, or 4 year contract... Well my contract is for 5 years. At the time that I sought them out, I explained to them that my son had just passed away a few months ago and I was going through a divorce with an abusive husband who kept breaking in to my home after he was court ordered to vacate the premises immediately. They preyed on my emotions and my vulnerability. And if that wasn't bad enough, they liked to me. I have a large 15 pound cat and they told me my cat would not set off the sensors inside my house. Well..... Yes, he does! I am unable to activate any of the sensors inside my house because my cat sets off the alarm. They have been out to my house a few times to remedy the problem but he still sets it off. AND the person who installed the system said he was unable to locate any electricity in my attic. So, he bore a golf ball sized hole through my ceiling so he could drop the line into my laundry room and plug it in to the wall outlet. So, now if any little critters happen to get in my attic they have direct access to the inside of my house. Not to mention the huge hole in my ceiling! Plus, if I take the garbage out or just walk outside, for some reason the cameras don't seem to capture that on video. However, if the shadow of a tree moves or the grass grows, I can show you a million clips of that! AND, they have sent people out to try out remedy that problem but no luck. I will admit it catches me on video some times. So, if anyone tried to do anything to the property, I hope it's at the time that the cameras decide to take a video. I have called them several times. Trust me, they know how much I dislike their company and how much I dislike paying for something that is a horrible product, from a horrible company, and that doesn't work as it was promised it would. read more
